  • 4:57 OUCH!!!!!!!! That has Gotta Hurt!

  • At 6:23 -- one of my favorite lines in the picture:

Streisand: WELL, WE'RE ONLY GOING ONE WAY!

    LMAO!

  • VW Beetle

  • "Well, there's not much to see actually; we're inside a Chinese dragon."

  • awesome movie...the scene with the kombi being smashed up bit by bit...a young kid's "smash up his toys" dream come true!

  • something very familier about about the vw beetle and the zig zag road, ahhh! thats it, herbie was driving down that road when jim douglas took him for a drive in THE LOVE BUG.

  • I can remember seeing this flick for the first time when I was about 10 and I am 34 now. It still makes me laugh out loud. It really is classic.

  • I nearly got sick from laughing so hard.

  • A Pure Classic!

  • this is one funny movie , havent lafed in a while lik that ,specialy at the plate glass and the guy jumpin over da wall. i need to watch the whole thing

  • love this!!!!!!

  • One of my favourite movies of ALL TIME. Thanks for posting this.

  • Awesome stuntwork in this chase

  • The chap who leaps over the wall and lands on the table always amazes me- it looks sooo painful!

  • I'm surprised there were so many stunt people in 1972 America. .

  • I'm surprised that most of them actually SURVIVED!!! :)

  • Stunt union safety rules are more stricter these days. This happened after an accident during the filming of "Cannonball Run". A car with two stunt people in it - was being driven against incoming traffic. At the moment that a van was in front of the car the steering wheel on the car locked - and it collided with the van. Stunt passenger Heidi Von Beltz was paralyzed by the accident. It was a "simple" stunt but - as stunt veteran Terry Leonard pointed out - "the simplest stunt can hurt a guy"!

  • I am glad that there is more protection these days for these most valuable people. Where would films be without them?

  • Action films would be worthless junk if it werent for stunt people. . .we need to see an element of risk on the screen - then this inspires us to take calculated risks as well!

  • Absolutely- but now we have computer enhancement, I wonder if in future the stunt men and women will be an extinct breed? I really admire them.

  • GREAT movie!.. Havent seen thIs in YEARS!

  • Brilliant film! I can never decide which supporting role has the funnier lines- Kenneth Mars or Liam Dunn

  • @coralarch i say liam dunn...mars is great too but the judge is hysterical.

  • @scottishcello - I think I agree! Liam Dunn plays the cranky old buzzard so straight-faced...I think he wins be a short margin. Kenneth Mars is unforgettably horrible!

  • wtf!? LMAO!!! FUNNY!!!

  • LMAO..dat was funny

  • OMG! so many cliché motifs, bo sooo funny! love it!

  • I cant stop laughin . brilliant.

  • what car do the italian robber guys drive?

  • LOL i love how the bug is floating at the end..

anyone remember the joke "if ted kennedy was driving a volkswagon, he'd be president" LOL

  • One of my favs. I love the chase scene.

  • lol very end, floating beetle.

  • Table jump at 4:55. BRUTAL! Look at the hit on the table! Spinal damage? OOUCH!!!

  • Barbra Streisand and Madeleine Kahn are my two favorite comediennes ever. In they are in the same movie! It's awesome. Barbra really can do anything. And Ryan O'Neal was adorably nerdy. Love every second of this film. Everyone in this film was great and hilarious.

  • Why won't they repeat it?

  • lol

  • Go Barbra Streisand!!!

  • this is like the best movie ever, i was watching it last night and i recoreded it i love these to!

  • What channel did you watch this on? Maybe they will repeat it.

  • i watched it on ABC family.. they wont repeat it.. :'( i have it on DVD though i just bought it xD

  • Can't believe how many near-misses in this movie. The stuntmen deserved an Oscar for their work. The birds all turning their heads at the same time, awesome!

  • Well, there's not much to see actually, we'er inside a Chinese Dragon.

  • I have loved this movie forever and have been trying to find a print of it somewhere, but it doesn't seem to be released on video or DVD. Does anyone know where I can get the whole thing? I want to see it again and show it to my son...

  • It's on DVD, look on Amazon. I found the DVD one night at Safeway of all places.

  • From a production stand point, there wasn't a soundtrack used for this chase scene, although rumor has it a score had been made for this scene but never used.

  • I wonder if their insurance rates went up or if they had insurance during that time.

  • I saw this at the theatre when I was a kid...

still the funniest movie I've ever seen!

  • DR-I totally agree. This is the funniest movie ever made!!!!

  • Would somebody post the under the table at dinner scene? That is so hilarious! Also, the producer from pulp fiction is in that scene. I'm sorry but I can't remember his name off hand. Oh yeah-Quentin Terintino something like that.

  • Very funny, everbody after Judy and Steve (ER) Howard. Crazy mix up cases.

  • This Movie inspired me to buy a o\ | /o

I still got it and will never part with it. Thanks for posting it on the Tube. Would you be able to post the court house scene with The Drug Junkie Judge about to have a nervous breakdown, its classic comedy.

  • Heavenly Movie! - A sirályok a legjobbak!

  • yes euenice

  • this movie was great everyone in it was funny

  • I am Hugh!

    You are me?

    No, I am Hugh!

Stop doing that, tell him to stop doing that!

    What a great movie.

  • A great comedy...! I saw it when I was kid and still remember it.

  • Don't you know the meaning of propriety?

  • OH GOD, I can see!

  • Best San Francisco Street Comedy Movie

    of 20th century,

A hundred times seen, growing better every time.

    thanx for posting.

  • The Volkswagen Beetle at the last second of the scene, the one floating on the water is a different model from the one at the chase.

  • Well, there's not much to see, we're inside a Chinese dragon!!!

  • I hate it when my igneous rocks are even touched.

  • Most straight men can't cope with the romantic dramas. SO, yes I do agree with the previous reviewer. This film is ok for straight men!

  • Funniest film ever!

  • if you think THIS is funny get the movie and watch the scene after in the courtroom!:-) since this is one of the funniest comedies ever this is the one striesand movie that is ok for straight men to like.

the blues brothers still has the BEST chase scene ever, followed by the hunter with steve mcqueen then burt reynold's final chase in white lightening this one.

  • the best is when your man jumps over the wall and lands on the table, and also when the alst car goes into the water LMAO

  • You gotta love the pane of glass when the "X" drawn smack dab in the center of it.

  • My name is Howard!

  • My all-time favorite comedy since I saw it at

the theatre as a kid.(I've never heard an audience laugh as loud.)

  • It was a brilliant idea to shot the whole movie in San Francisco. The chasing scene must be THE FUNNIEST ever cos my belly never hurt so bad from laughing.THANKSSS.Many,Many more thank youss.:-))))

  • The bloke carting his golf clubs everwhere- LOL!!!

  • Late great stuntman Bill Hickman (Bullitt,Vanishing Point,The Seven-ups,The Flim Flam Man,Hickey and Boggs.) drove one of the cars in this sequence.

  • I wanna know who the stuntman was that flew out of the car and into the bay at 9:47. That has to be one of the funniest and best stunts ever caught on film!

  • Can you pleeeeeeeeeeease upload the courtroom scene???

  • ziegfeldgirl: YES! When the judge asks what happened: "I was beaten up", "That's assault", "They stole my jewels", "That's robbery", and then the lovely Madeline Kahn said "I was molested", "That's....unbelievable." One of the funniest scenes in movie history!

  • Hahahaah I agree!

  • The judge was priceless- I just love him to death!

  • Yep, Liam Dunn was VERY funny in this movie as the Judge. He was also in "Young Frankenstein" two years later as Gene Wilder's lab assistant in the classroom. Remember?

  • jjp009, never saw that one, I'm afraid. In fact, I can't remember seeing him in anything but this one.LOL as he munches his pills, saying: "I intend to get to the bottom of this nest of lies and wickedness if it takes me the rest of my life - which may end at any minute!"

  • Liam Dunn was also in "Blazing Saddles" as the preacher.

  • the judge plays the priest in spaceballs

  • He's also in Young Frankenstein & plays the minister in Blazing Saddles.

  • No, I believe it was Ronny Graham (not Liam Dunn) who played the priest in "Spaceballs". Dunn also played the hapless newspaper vendor in "Silent Movie".

  • Yes--and sad to say, Liam Dunn was rather young (59) when he died in 1976 from emphysema, shortly after "Silent Movie" was completed.

  • that scene was terrific

  • "Where are we, I can't see!" "Well, there's not much to see, actually, we're inside a Chinese dragon." LOL!

  • Remember the scene right before Streisand and O'Neal try to catch the departing ferry?

    O'Neal: I can't see where we're going!

Streisand: Here, let me see your glasses! [she takes his glasses]

    O'Neal: NOW I REALLY CAN'T SEE!!

    ROTFLMAO!!

  • I just can't stop laughing. I love you Mr. Safreed!

  • This was great fun. Barbra Streisand should have stayed in comedy films, and stayed out of politics. She's FAR better here! I saw this many years ago when it was new in the theaters and nearly fell out of my seat laughing.

  • This is one of the funniest chase scenes ever. Barbra is so funny through the entire movie and Ryan is so goofy that ends up being adorable.

  • THANK YOU for sharing this. It IS ABSOLUTELY the funniest chase scene ever - expecially with that guy at the end ripping his head on the canopy! HAHAHAHAHA! I remember this movie - it's been a long time. HYSTERICAL show!

  • I disagree....to me it is the funniest chase scene ever! Thanks for posting!

  • Some of these stutns looked pretty damn dangerous. I can't believe they actually let the stars do some of their own, it seems.

  • Thanks for uploading this priceless scene! Would love to see the courtroom scene with Liam Dunn as the judge taking all those pills! Believe it or not, Streisand hated this film!

  • hahaha yeah my favorite is the courtroom scene! when howards trying to explain to the judge the whole situation...haha its amazing..

  • As much as I can't stand Streisand, this is one of my favorite movies - of all genres.

  • Hillarious and very special.

  • i love this movie!!!!1 and i agree with you!

  • i love this movie. so funny.

  • The Funniest Chase Scene EVER, would have loved to be in san Fransisco when they Filmed this

  • I had been looking for this movie in used video sales for years... one of the funniest chase scenes ever. They just don't make funny, clean, family movies like this anymore. Thanks! Could y'all show the court scene near the end, where the judge is her father?

  • The DVD is on Play dot com

  • Ohh man this was FUNNY! haha.

  • lol

  • "There's not much to see, really. We're inside a Chinese dragon." Priceless.

  • I always cringe when that guy jumps over the wall and lands on that table.

  • No question the guy who lands on the picnic table messed his back up but good.

But it was worth it! This is definitely one of the greatest comedy chase scenes of the past 50 years.

  • What a classic scene. I never saw that movie all the way through, but I can see I should. You can tell from Bogdanovich's technique the great respect he has for moviemakers of the past.

  • Funniest chase scene ever!

  • One of the best car chases in the movies :-D

We can make it....No.... We can make it!... No... I don't think we can make it

  • awesome

  • This is my favorite non-musical Streisand movie. And I agree, it's one of the funniest and best chase scenes ever put on film!!!

  • OMG this is so funny. I saw this movie yesterday XD!
