  • 'who takes himself to seriously' reminded me more on Kitten in Breakfast on Pluto (Serious, serious, serious) than on Joker (Why so serious?). I just love all three movies!!! I also heard Cillian Murphy would have been at the set. I really hope he's got a longer cameo than in The Dark Knight...

  • Ba dum tsh.

  • Man, i'm just hope that Cillian Murphy returns on Batman The Dark Knight Rises as the Scarecrow

  • @YoeLuisSSJ Cillian Murphy was spotted on the set of the Dark knight Rises....I read news of that movie almost every day, so he probably has a cameo, Liam Neeson also has one

  • Yes because a man who dresses up like a bat obviously takes himself too seriously

  • Am I the only one who thinks Cillian Murphy (Scarecrow) is absolutely sexy as hell? Especially in this movie

  • YOU LOOK LIKE A MAN WHO TAKES HIMSELF TOO SERIOUSLY?

    Prejoker reference?

  • Scarecrow kicks ass I mean think he could poison a city in the time joker can giggle...

  • Comment removed

  • @citizen773 Yeah he definitely wouldn't fit, even Penguin would be a little far off let alone Man-Bat lol

  • @citizen773 I always thought man-bat was interesting :/

  • Batman was noobed. :D

  • BATMAN GOT OWNED LIKE A BITCH!!!!!!!!!!!!! i was laughing so hard at this in the cinema, when it came out

  • Ra's Al Ghul, Scarecrow, Joker, Two Face, Bane, Catwoman

Now all we need is a 4th movie with Hugo Strange and someone else to make it even better...

  • @Ninety9Soulz .....and then we have arkham city

  • @Ninety9Soulz I want Killer Croc

  • @codafett Either him or Man-Bat

  • @Ninety9Soulz Zsasz was also in the first one.

  • @Ninety9Soulz and then.... Protocol 10 will commence in 5 hours

  • What Pyro said to Spy: You need to lighten up :P

  • Comment removed

  • Love Cillian Murphy as Scarecrow!

  • This is great...now where is the rest of the scene?

  • You look like a man who takes himself too seriously. Why so serious?

  • i love that line i think u need to lighten up best line ive ever heared in a movie cause he burns him

  • Man.. when you want to see the shit crawling on the enemy's face, GOOD VIDEO QUALITY REALLY HELPS.

  • The Scarecrow-------------The Joker

  • This is exactly why I think Scarecrow is cooler than Joker; he doesn't even have to lift a finger to defeat you; one spray of his fear gas and you'll do his work for him >:D!!!!

  • Note to Schumaker: THIS is how you make puns sound awesome and not lame.

  • Enter the super-villan.

Four lines is all it takes to kick the Batman's ass, leave him burning, poisoned, terrified and humiliated!

  • @WhiteFangofWar Then came the Joker and this pussy got pushed away. I'm glad. :D

  • @WhiteFangofWar Dude if he can kick Grundy's ass (immortal), he can kick anyone's ass.

  • @WhiteFangofWar wait then how come batman kicks every villians ass he comes across? including scarecrow.

  • achoo!

  • even though Scarecrow says this line it's more something you'd expect the Joker t use. But it's great to see some good dialogue in Nolan's batman films anyway.

  • Second best Nolanverse Scarecrow Line:

Scarecrow- By my opinion, you need to lighten up."

    Best Nolanverse Scarecrow Line:

Batman imposter: "We're just trying to help!"

    Batman: "I Don't need help!"

    Scarecrow- "Not by my diagnosis."

  • @PatrickProductions12 My opinion. Not by my opinion. And the second scarecrow line is funny. I forgot all about that.

  • 2 people need to lighten up.

  • i want that mask!!!

  • i loved this scene so much thank nolan for making a great scarecrow.

  • You know, it might be the pun, it might be the fire, or it might be the fact that Cilian Murphy kind of looks like Ashton Kutcher to me, but only one word comes to mind watching this...

    BURN!

  • This is like the best bit in the movie, did the scarecrow his crazy gas stuff in the comics or is it just in the film?

  • @XdjdaleyX

Fear gas is his signature, my friend! You really should read some comics...

  • 2 people need to lighten up

  • First time I ever saw this 3 things went through my head: 1) What ... the fuck....2) Suck it Burton and Schulmacher 3) THIS FUCKING BADASS!!!! :D. Being Scarecrow my fav. villain, I was a little freaked on how Nolan did this scene. totally awesome

  • @PapagenoJuan2 Um Schulmacher can suck it, but not Burton; Burton produced two EXCELLENT Batman movies. And in my opinion; if he had been given the chance, Burton could have made a better Scarecrow than Nolan did because honestly, Nolan under used both the character and Cillian Murphy's acting abilities grossly. Sure he is badass in Begins and had a memorable scene in TDK, but come on; SCARECROW playing second fiddle? Nah that's not how it works.

  • @PapagenoJuan2 fancy seeing you here. lol

  • Batman stumbles "Take a seat" x1

Pours some flammable alcohol on Batman "Have a drink" x2

"You look like a man who takes himself too seriously." sets Batman on fire "Do you want my opinion? You need to lighten up. " x3

    Scarecrow's oneliner combo

  • Wow, he actually makes that awful pun terrifying.

  • you guys below need to "lighten up".

  • @ActOfRandomChaos He almost killed him, no other villain in these movies except Ra's did that.

  • The pun actually worked and kicked ass...only Nolan can work cinematic miracles <3

  • @xBellatrixLestrangex and JJ Abrams, and Zack Snyder.

  • That was a really good pun.

  • Best scene from batman!

  • In any other movie that line would induce groans.

  • 2 ppl need to lighten up

  • I think Scarecrow needs a bigger part, I was disappointed with him in dark knight

  • @darkstar3x16 hes just a drug dealer now. he cant do much lol. nolan really likes cillian murphy though, so he might get another cameo type appearance in the dark knight rises

  • @cr33pyGamer Batman is just a man in a cape with that assumption. Scarecrow is more than just a drug dealer. Same with people with black mask and joker despite not having any super powers or anything. Scarecrow is my 2nd favorite villain of batman. Though in these movies, he's my favorite. I wonder if people would have liked Joker so much if he didn't die and everyone else didn't love it.

  • @strokeMEdry all scarecrow is now (in the movies) is a drug dealer..... and currently in jail- and heath's death has nothing to do with his performance. though personally dent was my favorite character in tdk besides batman of course

  • @cr33pyGamer Batman's actor was HORRIBLE.

Also they are always just people thrown in jail and then they come out. one thing to know about batman, if the character is in the top 10, you'll be seeing them multiple times. They are never in jail for long.

Also bane is a badguy, but all bane is is a hispanic drug dealer. Scarecrow sticks out as a villain compared to fodder so he's not just "a drug dealer"

Also you could say that joker is just "a terrorist"

  • @cr33pyGamer And the fact that people liked it so much was heavily on him dieing.

  • @strokeMEdry no..... you couldnt be any wronger kid..

  • @cr33pyGamer You are calling me a kid yet you say "wronger"

I seriously believe you have the mental capacity of a 5 year old. Maybe you are 5, or maybe you are just retarded, who knows.

Either way, I couldn't be any more right"er" by your language.

It's true, he wasn't that breathtakenly good. He did a fine job and I guess was noteworthy but didn't deserve the hype. If he was still alive he wouldn't have won the awards he did.

  • @strokeMEdry yes he would have. you're a f***ing idiot. nice spelling on "dieing" by the way. absolutely pathetic, go be jealous elsewhere.

  • @cr33pyGamer You're a fucking idiot. And btw, you make giant english mistakes that fuck over all english speakers and you call me an idiot.

Btw, people are scared to say it but it wasn't that amazing, it was enough to pull off the awesome character of joker but it wasn't groundbreaking. People are scared to say it though, heck I'm pretty uncomfortable saying it seeing as he died but I am telling the truth. People are simply scared to say anything else.

  • @strokeMEdry Jealous piece of sh*t.

  • @strokeMEdry hey im not scared and i know Heath Ledger did a way better joker that fucking Jack Nicholson

  • @LIVELAVALIVEism It was good, but it was just average for such a brilliant character as the joker. I can see an award being won for it but the fact that people still talk a bout it is to much.

  • @darkstar3x16 Agreed; unfortunately, because the blue poppies grow in the Himalayas, and Ra's al Ghul is dead, Crane's running on a short supply these days. Maybe he finds another way to make fear toxin so he can be a proper villain?

  • @Videogamer3692 He is "assumed" dead. Batman gott out, and people guess that he escaped.

  • @strokeMEdry C'mon, he had about 10 seconds before the train crashed and blew up, AND he did NOT have Batman's memory fabric cape, so he couldn't very well glide out. It should be obvious that Ra's is dead.

  • Scarecrow can make dumb puns sound gangsta and kickass!

    + 9001 points for Scarecrow!

    *claps* ^_^

  • Scarecrow and Joker should have worked together to make laughing gas

  • @DrakeVagabond There was one graphic novel/comic issue when Scarecrow gassed the Joker, but it had no effect on him whatsoever

  • @DrakeVagabond

Or a gas that amplifies the effects of the joker poison.

  • @DrakeVagabond They did.

  • @DrakeVagabond When I read that Scarecrow was going to be in The Dark Knight, that's exactly what I thought was going to happen.

But it turned out to just be a cameo. :(

  • @DrakeVagabond This is when an unstoppable force is combined with another unstoppable force. I think both the Scarecrow and the Joker were destined to do this kind of thing forever!

  • @DrakeVagabond That's ingenious, why didn't Nolan think of that?

  • @TPizzle83 maybe cos it was done to a degree in the original batman(not with joker working with crane tho) plus making people laugh? hmm not very evil

  • @neobriano You do know laughing gas kills right

  • GANGSTA

  • Burlap sack $10.00, Zippo Lighter, $4.75, Bhutanese wildflowers $8.50 plus shipping, Compressed Oxygen bottle $50.00, having an extensive knowledge of Chemical Engineering, bringing your enemies to your knees with the fruit of your labors, and having devilishly good looks - Priceless.

  • Comment removed

  • two people take themselves way too seriously, they oughta talk to Jonathan Crane and lighten up, lol..... and i thought my jokes couldn't get any worse.. ahahahahahahahahh...

  • Hollow cost fulfilling, bodies fortunes succumbing, ecological spheres transpiring, sustenance entities sustaining, transitional spheres ecologically, succumbing unfortunate bodies, famishing cost’s hollow !

  • If they ever bring back Scarecrow in The Dark Knight rises they have to have line "Scared you, didnt I?"

  • @foodbug Would be awesome if at the end of the movie since end of trilogy after day is saved he walks up and shoots batman and is like. "Wtf, you do know batman has like 100 villains right. And I was in every damn movie"

  • See...Scarecrow says a pun and it sounds cool. Mr. Freeze does it and it sounds lame. The difference: delivery.

  • @Sylar03 He also does it sparingly, and at the right time. Mr. Freeze in the Schmaucher film did it as his primary form of dialogue.

  • Is it just me? Or does almost every villain in superhero stories comes up with the best oneliners?

  • this guy had such a good set up as a villian in this movie but then he got taken out like a bitch T .T

  • Definately mor e Scare crow screen time in that movie instead of like 3 short scenes Darknight way betar but i like Scarecrow betar than joker Scarecrow best Batman villain by far

  • @catchmydrift1998kk In the movies I agree, in general, scarecrow is number 2 to joker.

  • 2 people need to lighten up

  • 2 people need 2 light up

  • Bane and Cat woman are both going to be in The Dark Knight Rises, hopefully Scarecrow will return but I doubt he'll be the main villain, more likely Bane will, and since its going to be Christopher Nolan's final Batman film I have a feeling that they're going to base it around where Bane breaks Batman's back in the comics, which would be awesome to see batman defeated in the film by Bane.

  • @MasterKickArse We don't know if Bane and Catwoman are in it, Nolan hasn't even revealed who the villains are, all he said is its not the riddler. Anything else you've heard is just a rumor

  • @techyesboy No take a look at IMDb Bane is being played by Tom Hardy and Catwoman is being played by Anna Hathaway. I doubt IMDb upload rumours.

  • @MasterKickArse Oh wow my bad I didn't realize that I hadn't checked that site in quite a while thanks for letting me know

  • @techyesboy No worries, I absolutely love that site, and batman lol

  • i know alot of people didnt think the scarecrow got enough screen time but i actually thought it was good how it was. he was never really that interesting of a villian imo rhas al ghul was much better.

  • I hope Scarecrow returns and has a bigger role in the third Batman movie

  • @Lazyboy5298 Same here, I hope he's actually scary this time. Cillian is a great actor for Scarecrow, but they didn't put enough effort into the scare factor. More scare fator, more scarecrow awesome-ness plz!

  • @cloflo217 I think that we have a real chance of seeing him return better than ever in The Dark Knight Rises, because I don't really think that he was put away in The Dark Knight. Look at the evidence, there was absolutely no mention of him after that one scene. Indicating, perhaps, that when the Joker took that fake Batman, that he freed Scarecrow. I think Scarecrow should be the main mastermind in The Dark Knight Rises.

  • @Death2AllWhoOppose Ohhh, I hope so!! 8D

  • @Death2AllWhoOppose This interests me more than you know. Joker kidnapped one of the Batman copycats somehow. Though it was never implied they were criminals like Scarecrow, his men, and Chen Chen's men. They probably were released eventually but Joker managed to take Brian hostage after he was released. Scarecrow must be in Arkham Asylum. I would love Scarecrow back but something tells me he will not be.

  • @Craz3Eddie In the book version of the Dark Knight Maroni has one of his men try to find out who the Joker is. After a long time the man returns, but he's insane and dies, it's later revealed that he was poisoned with something that came from a plant in Bhutan (same place Scarecrow's toxin comes from). This is an illusion to Joker venom. If the Joker had Scarecrow make that for him, that could link it all together well. Also, Scarecrow's not insane so he'd go to prison rather than an asylum.

  • @Death2AllWhoOppose True not truly insane but still insane in some form. Not enough for Arkham but I wouldn't be surprised seeing as he is a huge and wanted danger between Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. The novelization of Batman Gotham Knight, cannon to these films, pretty much sums this up.

  • @Craz3Eddie Well he was only in one of those 6 stories and only very briefly actually appeared. He was wanted more as a terrorist rather than a madman on the loose. He is a terrorist, he's a total sociopath and just doesn't care about causing severe harm and/or permanent damage to peoples' psyches. He's fully consciously aware of it all and plans it out and acts upon it, premeditating the mass-poisonings as he did. He's not insane just a total sadist. So, he'd be sent to a max. security prison.

  • @Death2AllWhoOppose And then joker or bane would break him out, some kinda villain, they always do or they find their own way out.

  • @Craz3Eddie Whoa, wait I'm sorry, I misread what you said about Gotham Knight. Haven't read the book, so I will take your word on that sorry. I thought that you meant the animation. My bad, my apologies.

  • @cloflo217 get a suit to match is mask as well, sine when does scarecrow where a tux

  • @Rorschachxx1985 Yup, at least make the suit somewaht raggedy and torn so it fits the mask. XD

  • @cloflo217 i know thats exactly what i've been thinking thats why i didnt like batman begins, i didnt like batman fighting ninjas i didnt like the actress playing rachel i dont like ras al ghul so the only bit i was looking forward to was scarecrow what a disappointment in rises they either have him true to the comics wearing ragged clothes and having him as the main villain with a better actor or they dont put him in at all, nolan hasn't used scarecrow's full potential he's one of my favourites

  • More scarecrow for the next batman he was not utilized enough and they can develop more on the bruce wayne childhood psycho drama.....

  • More scarecrow for the next batman he was not utilized enough and they can develop more on the bruce wayne chiildhood pyscho drama.....

  • ''would you like to see my mask?''

  • @TheSuirad Wow it's really ugly! Oh sorry I didn't realize you didn't wear it.

  • @ThisIsAtomic ''why so serious?'' ''let's put a smile on that face.''

  • awesome

  • I can't bevelive he just set him up on fire like that

  • i think batman disliked this :o

  • @sonicvids Robin too

  • @sonicvids He must have told Robin too now.

  • @sonicvids and alfred.

  • @sonicvids Batman AND Robin ;)

  • @sonicvids Alfred, too. He didn't appreciate having to go out during bedtime hours to pick up the Bat

  • So fucking badass.

  • One of the better villains in my opinion. I like that he uses chemistry and intelligence...kinda like a mad scientist thing.

  • @xoxMementoMori me 2,i do this in fount of my friends :0)

  • joker is 10x better....

  • scarecrow is so badass in this part.

  • "LIGHTEN up Batman, or you're FIRED for not CHILLING out! ....oh wait, the last one didn't fit... eh, 2 out of 3 is fine xD

  • hehe; epic one liner. xD

  • @ActOfRandomChaos I'm just happy that he was in the movie at all. He played such a big part in the animated series I was sad as a kid to never see him the movies until now. We fans gotta remember the time issue these movies have. They can only give so much screen time to villians. There's not only batman, but the mob, the police, and bruce's allies. I think nolan does a great job of giving personality & depth to every character.

  • @ActOfRandomChaos how else do you think he could've been used, without him becoming the main character?

  • @ActOfRandomChaos its batman begins not scarecrow begins fanboy

  • Cillian Murphy is the perfect actor, for a live-action scarecrow

  • if i had Scarecrow's Voice i would just talk >:)

  • scarecrow and mr. freeze should have a pun-off in the third batman movie.

    LET'S KICK SOME... ICE

  • There is this in Batman Begins, and then Why So Serious in The Dark Knight...

... seems like action movies always have the villain as some kind of comedian, as if to demonize comedy...

  • Cillian murphy scarecrow is so badass wished he had more screentime

  • I always wondered what that gas did......so now i see. I confuses the mind and shows what they're afraid of, when its not really there.

  • @ShazbotDX not really. It is a hallucenagenic toxin which causes the person to basically trip out like on acid but this toxin is designed to induce panic and literally scare the person to death. The panic happens to take the form of someone's worst fear.

  • @tankmaster1018 so i was half right?

  • "You need to lighten up."

    YEEEEEAAAAAAH

  • amazing scarecrow

  • joker should've had more one liners like this in dark knight but whatever still good

  • You can just tell Goyer wrote that one, because no way would Jonah Nolan debase himself like that.

  • Btw i think Two Face, Joker & Scarecrow are all badass thanks to Nolan. Hopefully Riddler or whoever he chooses will be too!

  • batman begins is very under rated. For those of you who were stupid enough to never watch this before Dark knight, make sure you watch it for fucks sake!

  • ZING!!!!

  • i really liked this scene as well (who dosnt haha)

  • LOL. Batsy got PWNED.

  • I've watched this billions of times. Seriously, this is so badass. His voice...damn. Awesome.

  • When batman defeated Scarecrow he took on his voice, so thats why Batmans voice is so guttural in the Dark Knight ;)

  • "Aw, having trouble? Take a seat, have a drink. You look like a man who takes himself too seriously. Do you want my opinion? You need to lighten up!" *BURNADGE*

  • I can still hear his regular voice inside of the hallucinated one. He's so god damn innocent looking and handsome... Hard to believe he's Scarecrow. But, nonetheless, he is probably the best Batman villian right beside the Joker. Too bad he was working for Raz. As 'RandomActOfChaos' said below, he had the potential to be the main antagonist in the entire movie.

  • scarecrow and joker are beast!

  • Scarecrow's voice alone is scary!

  • @Pinhead554

    i so agree haha

  • Scarecrow is mega awesome

  • scarecrow voice is amazing..
