HEY I'm actually called Fat Freddy and I do Carving and mold making. SO i came in here today to check out somem candy mold making. because a friend of mine thinks we should make some fat freddy candy for all the kids this summer.
SO what do I run into on the first video I click on ? YOU calling your Plug fat freddy .
SO that obligates you, Now to send me one of the parts ,T hat you make from it. or you will break out with pimples between your toes. Yep .
@actionfiguretimes I just couldn't believe that he is making a mold from a Part that he calls fat freddy. I am called fat freddy. what are the odds that i would randomly pick a video with my name on the piece that is being cast.?
I'm making a very complicated piece requiring a four piece mold that has to be a tiny bit flexible. It has threading and it has to be very accurate for an air tight seal. Also I need the plastic to be very strong and transparent. What would be the best chemicals to use for the mold, spray, and plastic? Please message this account back with your recommendations.
With the pour you may get some bubbles, but with steady tapping of the mold most rise and break on the surface. I really don't have as much problem with bubbles as you make it sound.
seems reasonable but i would start from the lowest point of the model for perfection. Even you tap there's a chance of trapping bubbles in some complex areas
Professionals pour from as high up as possible, to get a thin stream that breaks bubbles as it pours. You also want to pour away from the object being (not on top of it as you have shown), toward the side of the mold, and keep the stream in the same place the entire time.
Not trying to insult you, just giving some solid advice.
You didn't show how to cut it which I'm sure is easy but I perfer veiwing before trying when it comes to something liKe this and can I do this for something much larger? I also don't have anything to use to form a mold with such as your figurine so can I do something from complete scratch?
does anyone have a vid that makes it easy to mold GW ork? things are just way to blasted expensive. DONT EVER POUR ON THE MOLD YOU'LL GIVE YOURSELF NEEDLESS AIR BUBBLES! if you dump the mixture from a height of 2 1/2 feet into your mold container, it will release the air bubbles by forcing the mixture into a steady stream removing the bubbles. anyone with a link on how to make sprue copies of GW warhammer 40k would be really really thankful.
Very informative. I cast large puppet heads using RT silicone. It is normally white so I use a blue paint to darken it. Some catalysts with boosters can cure rubber in an hour or so - I prefer to let it cure over 24 hours so ever air bubble raises to to the top. casting is a very enjoyable thing but so damn messy!
Would this work to make an ice sculpture.. In stead of pouring in the resin, pour in water and freeze it?

If you pour the silicone from a higher position and allow it to form a thin stream as it goes into the mold, you will get less bubbles.
