He didn't say much about Obama...I guess that's diplomatic? I do stand corrected, tho, b/c I was misinformed about the decision for last year's visit not to take place-I was blaming it all on the Pres.; I see now that they agreed on that? hmm, more diplomacy, I hope. I would like to hear more of what he was saying here re: the China relations situation. Maybe the rest of this interview is on here somewhere?
In horror movies, most people try to escape from 'crazy' people that trying to hurt them.
If they are Americian, and terriorism has not broken down their normal functional-society, they would call for help from greater authorities. If you have a large family or town-friends, you would gather support, and hope to out number the crazy person, to restrain them. If they out number you...you and the town people could re-locate...walk away from the path of war and violence...
This sounds bad. China sound anti-diplomacy and "play-by-the-rules." In my opinion, Obama is following in the Dalai Lama's footstep, seeking communication and probably trying to use reasonable approaches (he is a diplomat). What do you do when you choose reason over violence...yet you cannot make (without using force) someone (or large group) stop poisioning your environment?
How can Tibet lead China towards less violence and onto a path of reason?
soo you know the dalai lama is absolutely guilty of oppressing his own people. Look it up. Mutilations. Both of the governments over there are no good.
@Mr4thGeorge There's scandal around this Lama's being against a certain religious practice, Dorje Shugden, but any destruction of property or harassment has been at the hands of his followers; not done, nor ordered by himself. And there is NO account of any mutilation around this.(on that, you may be thinking of the previous -13th Lama.) If you are going to hold a leader responsible for the actions of his followers and call him evil, well that pretty much covers every leader, all the time.
Ok, WTF! why the heck did they cut out what Dalai Lama was going to say right after 2:33. He was giving a reason and probably more on why it should remain a part of China. You could totally tell they cut out what he was about to say right after 2:33.
they don't have an intepreter because . . . ? isn't a spiritual leader suppose to say something . . . er . . uhm . . . spiritual? larry king has got to be the most underpaid person on the planet. his questioning technique and listening skills are unmatched. the way he sits there so poised, thinking intently on the words of his guest . . . sheer genius. and his questions, . . . . such keen insight . . inimitable. "What was that like?"
@hypnosquirrel in a so politicized and a critical world you can't be just spiritual. don't be hypocritical at least he knows much many languages than you do and he tries his best. and Larry King is the King, he is a legend. you will never be able even in your dreams achieve what he achieved. you are probably angry and feel worthless. so be that way, stay worthless leaving angry comments as to feel better yourself.
i don't care if he knows 5,000,0000 languages - an interpreter was needed. he wasn't there for us to admire his robe. you are right - King is a legend; and its nothing short of amazing that a person can achieve such success by doing what he does. "How was it?" "Did you like it?" "What happened?" "How does it feel to be successful?" "What did she say after you said that?" Oprah, by contrast, is a much, much, more insightful interviewer although she has a pro-female bias.
We learned that human rights are not protected not only abroad but in the US too. People do not have their basic rights of freedom of speech and freedom of religion.
@gettinmonee did anyone asked America (I don't know if by America you mean just USA or Canada and Mexico as well) to help Tibet?? it is a rhetoric question no one did. Dalai Lama explained that they do not want to separate from China but get basic human rights.
basic human rights. Listen up cause Im only going to say this once. With 3+ million locked up today 2/23/2010 America has no place to even discuss what basic human rights are. Do you understand? Am I clear enough for you?
you are so hard core in front of that screen. lol and what's up with 3 million people in jail? Did I ask you anything about people in jail. It does not make any sense. lol
@Jakshybalashka the US is in debt abt few trillion dollars with the china and they wouldnt take any actions to disturb the relationship betwn China and U.S. THere's a reason y every thing mostly says made in china.

I'm sick of all religious freaks, Buddhists included. So what if they don't have jihads and Inquisitions, they're still absurd.
