  • The Darkness 2 !!!

  • I was one of the few original 'Soulheads' in the late 70's/early 80's. It was either Soul or Reggae at my school. I grew up on Ronnie Laws, George Benson, Roy Ayres, Deneice Williams, Chaka, Khan, Phyllis Hyman, etc. But my dad listened to Swing, Be-bop and music like this. So I had to. Beautiful. How could anyone not 'like' this? It's so... Hmmm... Delicious... Thanks for posting.

  • This brings me back to when i was little watching Bronx tale

  • Man that is a classic background sound. " de womp she bomp!"

  • This song is great when you're falling in love, but it's like having a spinal tap when you're falling out of love.

  • @ashburnhouse I'm in that "spinal tap" phase... well at least I know I'm not the only one.

  • Five in your eye ,eiery eye awacs pater familias manus clairvoyant action. Pansy In Spanish this flower is called 'thought' precisely because it is thought which it symbolizes by virtue of its clearly pentagonal pattern: five being the number that symbolizes man. In morocco ,for exampleto protect oneself against the evil eye one repeats the prase hamsa fi ainek ('five in your eye') Quinary. QED QEF Thanks number 1

  • They certainly don't make music like this anymore...love it!!

  • The Fugees - Zealots ..... i knew this song but not for the part they sampled. so dope. i love discovering these classics because of real hip hop.

  • @shmayy or i should say, when hip hop takes me by the perverbial hand and leads me to the classics.

  • I was truly born in the wrong era

  • @84chonch - u got that right. sock hops, slow dancing, everything was cool.

  • ONLY REAL DEAL PETIGREE MUSIC LOVERS UNDERSTAND & RESPECT THIS TALENT.

LOL. LISTEN TO THE HARMONY. CT.

  • A true classic

  • few things in life are capable of delivering the full-body chills like this track...

2 people clicked the wrong thumb while shivering..

  • My wife loves this song-This is what she loved at our wedding June 16,1662- a nice sound.

  • @tennesseedog1000 Wow!! Married 349 years

  • @zkenzo That had me dying. LOL! Anyway, love this song.

  • I remember leaving a house party and this song playing on the radio as we on our way to Hot Shopps for an after party meal !

  • i find this song so haunting.. i dont know why. its just so beautiful

  • What a time to grow up in the Bronx in the (50's). We Do-wopped in all of the echoed hallways and under all the bridges that we could. We would sing, Billy Stewart, The Moonglows, Sam Cook, The Platters and The Dells. We thought it would never end. I'm so thankful for all those times and experiences and the guys I grew up with. I wouldn't trade those times for anything.

  • @Jqau you white?

  • A bronx tale, enough said

  • So lovely. This totally reminds me of the movie Clue! I love that movie. Good times. Fabulous music!

  • A classic, and smooth,The Flamingos at their best.Song like this will live forever.

  • This will be my wedding song or I will divorce my wife on the spot.

  • @troydt1982 good choice, i was dancing with my girl friend at a Sadie Hawkins dance in high school in1959 cheek to cheek and a school monitor tapped me on my shoulder and said NO Bodily contact is permitted, this is real hard to believe , but that was the norm in the 50's, anyway that girl i was dancing with is my wife of over 47yrs,

  • @1ED2DD yeah i went to catholic school and the nuns use to monitor the dances if you can believe that. no close dancing. should have seen their faces when the twist came out.

  • @1ED2DD beautiful stuff man im 47 years late but congradulations!

  • @1ED2DD you are very lucky to have shared all these years with someone i loved the 50s-60s era was a nice sweet time in my life

  • @1ED2DD Glad to hear that

  • @1ED2DD i love your comment!

  • @1ED2DD Sure your an Adult. Because people who were born in the 1940s are very Fancy and Well-Kept. You don't capitalize and you have Poor skills with words.

Your Fake Age as of 2012 is 71 right? Your born 1941.

My mother is 79 and she doesn't even know how to work the computer.

    I'm 51 going on 52 in May.

  • @52298Beebop2 I arrived on May 22, of 44. so i was 15 in '59, hope this helps you, so this yr on 7-3 we will be married 48yrs and we want to go on a cruise to Alaska.

  • @1ED2DD Ok whatever you say.

I change my age of 52 to 105.

    I've been married 75 years because I was 30 when I was married so 30 + 75 = 105 my age.

I lived through WW1, WW2, and the Great Depression.

  • @1ED2DD Yep. We had the daylight rule -- the chaperones at school dances had to be able to see daylight between us when we were slow dancing. Daylight got pretty dim sometimes, though!

  • I love what they did to this standard.

    .

ps: It's also sad that people can't express themselves without cursing.

  • THIS IS MUSIC, I LOVE THIS SONG AND IT MESSAGE.

  • Classic !!!!

  • Great Song for any decade!

  • yeah this is the kind of song you can't not like. Great song.

  • Memories of the great classic movie Twins.. Arnold's face lol

  • It scares me that someday someone from X Factor wil ruin this song for me.

  • Beyond classy. Going to ask the soon to be Mrs if this can be our first dance tune.

  • @adewale007 You've picked a great song. Hope you both have the best day ever.

  • @BLACKMAILBOXTV Many thanks for the good wishes. Very kind of you.

  • @adewale007, congrats!

  • This is how you know sometimes disliking a video is an accident : )

  • This song shines like a thousand candle-lit women's eyes

  • awesome!!! oh to here love songs like this, this is life and love. this is music for people who love.

  • The phrasing of the lyrics is masterful.

  • I swear I hear this song in my head everytime I stare at my daughter sleep or stare back up at me... Having her has changed me completely in the love department.. she's too perfect. THANK YOU GOD ALWAYS!!!

  • @ZulyTreez

When 2=-3 days go by not hearing or seeing my one and only daughter, feel lonely, hearing this tune, feel close toher.

  • 2 people are not who you only have eyes for.

  • thumbs up if A Bronx Tale brought yhu here!

  • Now its 2 assholes.

  • These cats are the bomb.

  • Excellent in Heart like a wheel! Goosebumps!

  • Quite possibly, the greatest love song, of all time, and space.

  • Music doesn't get much better than this. A treasure and true classic.

If one looked up the word smooth in an audio dictionary, this would be the first definition.

  • I've heard this guitar download intro with that soft piano a thousand times and it still brings goosebumps to my arms every time. If this isn't one of the best songs ever recorded, then they should stop making music.

  • one of my all time favorites

  • doo wop shoo bop!!! Thank You Flamingos...This sounds great playing in my '66!

  • Timeless and smooth, without a wrinkle!! Flawless perfection of sound!! Cynthia6637 was dead spot on as this should be "the last dance wherever you are dancing" with that special somebody real @#$%ing slow!! So glad I found this!!

  • Hodgy beats sampled this Hahahaha ! Great Music I love it

  • THIS SHOULD BE THE LAST DANCE WHERE EVER YOU ARE DANCING

  • Comment removed

  • 0:19 Spongebob? :D:D:D

  • Hard to duplicate this sound. This song is cemented in History.

  • @weedahoful you are so wrong this to dance to. and yes a night with a full moon over head.

  • It truly don't get much more romantic than this!!! Let's see mainstream musicians now days try doin this, haha wait NOOOO They would probably butcher it all to shit!!! doo-wop shoo bop till my last breath!! Thanks for sharing this!

  • This is so exquisite, such a sublime representation of true and emotive genius, that I can't catch my breath when I listen. Each echo, phrase and note is so precious that language falls criminally short in trying to explain my emotional reaction to it.

  • My god what a classic, one of the all-time greats without doubt.

  • Holy SHIT. I haven't heard this song in a minute. One of the greatest songs of ALL time!

  • Love, love, love this song. This song is meant "just" prior to the "deed." Know what I mean?

  • The snow flurries made me think of this song. Another great post.

  • This knocked me out then...and still does more than a half century later. Goodness gracious sakes alive, what a classic.

  • im 14 im probably the youngest person on this comment page lol no offence to you old timer my mom listens to the oldie song and i just love then from the Platters to Minnie Riperton my favorite!

  • This song makes me wish i was madly in love with someone...alas i write this with the just me and the darn cat lol

  • This song was a must...on a date!

  • Eamon used a sample of this: I Love Them Ho's <3

  • Just beautiful. Trippy, Dreamy, and ever so slightly Psychedelic?? I love it.

  • @hydfawr I heard a comment about this being a bit psychedelic. some of it has to do with the transition (year) 1959 is when doo wop was somewhat fading out and the new era of music was beginning.

  • @hydfawr Yes. I always thought that about this song too! 1950's psychedelic music.

  • Weed....you are spot on! For me, it would be at night with all my lights off! I have heard versions of this from the 30s and they are all really good, but this version is my favorite. Pure magic!

  • At the 'drive-in on a warm summers night in our dodge, with my loved one with this song playing on the radio, great memories,& were still together THANKS TAHOE THOM

  • I think Art Garfunkle did much justice for this song in 1975.

  • @chefjimmie1 No he didn't, this version is the best version of the song bar to none, the chorus was epic too. This version was magical

  • @7Know7Thy7Enemy7 Lemmie guess, you were a young person in 1959. Sure you were. I was a young person in 1975 and that is why Art's version is epic to me and the Flamingo's is epic to you. I just don't like the "shoe wap do wap" that is so signature of the 50's and that is probably what you like. No problems.

Do you know who wrote the song? If the Flamingo's wrote it then they deserve more credit than Art but everybody and their cousin re mixed this song!

  • @chefjimmie1 I guess if you don't like the this song, maybe go listen to 'Arts version' thats what you like. no problems i was young in 1975 too,but i like doo-wop, chill out

  • @chefjimmie1 The Flamingo's revoluntionized this song, the "shoe wp do wap" is so epic, ooh I love the chorus, their voice is so angelic and magical/haunting.. Art have to use the amaziin dreamy beat to exude the emotion like the flamingo's
