  • WE only have OUR selfs to BLAME....not GOD, not JESUS...WE are responsible for our actions onto our selfs and the actions onto others, WE shall be held accountable for it. *enough said*

  • It's always nice to remember most people have died in the name of some God than for any other reason. Makes me think insanity isn't nearly as rare as we make it out to be.

  • I wish we could all be free from religion.

There's too much hatred and death wherever the believers spread their "message"

  • Do you religious people still think your great?

  • I have said it before, and I will say it again,"Religion is the opiate of the masses." That means that there are a lot of drug addics in this world, and I am not talking about illegal drugs here. The addiction to religion is a cancer on the entire human race. That raises the question,Can mankind survive this cancer until perhaps, someday it can be irradicated? I hope so!

  • Also, I don't want to diminish the tragedies that come from religion inspired bombings and such, but they don't compare to most of the worst human rights violations in the last hundred years (the Holocaust, Darfur, Gulag, North Korea, Mao's China ect...) which have nothing to do with (or where vehemently against) religion

  • @polosaint granted, there are some very fucked up things done for no religious motive whatsoever, however the difference between those atrocities and the atrocities committed in the name of religion have no excuse, the religious have tried to use their religion to justify their savage acts against their fellow man.

  • @lefayad1991 wait, so are you saying that there was an excuse for the Holocaust...because the/a difference between that an 9/11 is that the Holocaust had an excuse? And the people who aren't religious have used science to try to prove that Blacks/Jews/Native Americans are inferior to whites and should be systematically enslaved or murdered, but that doesn't mean we should get rid of science

  • @polosaint no no no, but the holocaust was not trying to be justified from a religious stand point (even though it can be argued that hitler thought he was commanded by god to do what he did) and lets not get into slavery because slavery was not started by secularists

  • no one in a scientific community would argue that one race is inferior to another

  • @lefayad1991 One one in a legitimate religious community would argue that bombing innocents is ever the right thing to do

  • @polosaint

My good sir, the holocaust was something over a religious belief

  • @AkuZod The "something" being genocide against a people because of a religious belief?

  • @polosaint

Actually, it was one religious belief or the other. In fact atheism was snuffed out during that, and major force behind it was one who had a roman catholic background. Not only did he denounce one religion but asserted that his ideas were fuel by his own religion, a religion which ideas he took to the most extreme.

  • @AkuZod You know hitler was also vegetarian...Because he was vegetarian, this was clearly his main motivation for killing the jews. I will guarantee you that most historians would not attribute Hitler's/the Nazi Party's anti-semitism to Catholicism. "The basic motivation of the Holocaust was purely ideological, rooted in an illusionary world of Nazi imagination, where an international Jewish conspiracy to control the world was opposed to a parallel Aryan quest." The jews just were scapegoats

  • @polosaint actually joe, i could give a you a few passages where hitler did state that he saw it as an act for god and christ to eradicate the "jewish poison"

  • @polosaint

Because jews are vegetables? You're using that? :D OH MY GOD YES! Its because of his hatred for vegetables and how he was doing meat's will! How the Aryan race was meat's chosen race! And no, not ever has catholicism has shown any anti-antisemitism ever! I'm sorry for being so wrong.

  • @AkuZod 1. because Hitler had a Catholic background, that doesn't necessitate that this catholicism was the basis for his hate of the Jews. He used "religion" to justify his acts, the same way racists used "science" to justify white's superiority to blacks. 2. And you are right, Catholicism has never taught anything Anti-Semitic. There just happen to be some Catholics who are anti-semitic. Also Stalin was atheist and persecuted the religious because he took his atheism to an extreme.

  • @polosaint

Whoa now, we're on the guy whose been claimed to believe in a religion and didn't grasp the concept of evolution and ultimately related his action to his religion. We're not talking about Stalin, I do not disagree with that. We're talking about something that had more to being something of religious digression which help fuel the holocaust. And besides in my mind those who follow are worse than those lead and then you're overwhelmed with those of the religion.

  • @AkuZod there are a handful of things I'd like to say, but blahh, arguing over the internet is not worth it. I'm actually good friends with the maker of this video, so we'll argue it out later. Right now I'm just too busy and the character limit is really annoying.

    peace

  • @polosaint 1. Hitler claimed that because he was a Christian he wanted to rid Germany of the Jews. 2. Living in the south I run into a fair amount of racist pricks. They're all Christians, and most have little to no understanding of science. 3. Stalin persecuted anyone who didn't worship Communist way of life. It was it's own religion without the supernatural crap.

  • @Brewtard .Like I said, internet arguments are dumb, but I have some free time. 1. So what? no matter what Hitler said, it wasn't Christianity. 2. Correlation/Causation fallacy, lack of science does not = racism and again, Christianity is against racism 3. I'm making the same bullshit argument as the hitler one, but against atheism.

The video makes no logical or convincing empirical claims against religion, it's all emotional, yet people eat it up like they're watching fox news

  • @polosaint What are you talking about? Anti-semitism was preached by the Catholic church for many years. The idea of forcing jews to wear yellow stars and to live in isolated ghettos originated with the church. Hitler merely copied their ideas, but went further in trying to completely eradicate the jewish people.

  • @Brewtard

okay, in retrospect, the last line was just trolling...I don't want teh fury of teh interwebz against meh

  • Good video, but somewhat insubstantial. Is there any empirical evidence that religion causes more harm than good? Sure you say, this bombing here, or these intolerant people there, but 1. does that outweigh the good religion provides and 2. is it fair to characterize religion as a whole because of the acts of a few nuts. I mean the pope isn't turning people with "God Hates Fags" signs into saints, it's the Mother Theresa's of the world.

  • @polosaint the question is...what good does religion provide? It provides a false sense of hope and a false sense of superiority over those that disagree with their beliefs. Also, don't get me started on Mother Teresa. Look into her past, some of the stuff she did was pretty fucked up. As for the pope, no, he is not turning people with "God Hates Fags" signs into saints, he is doing something much worse, LIKE GOING TO AFRICA AND TELLING THE PEOPLE THERE THAT CONDOMS INCREASE THE SPREAD OF AIDS

  • @lefayad1991 1. to say "false sense of hope" is begging the question as to whether religion has merit or not. and the superiority thing is just not true. It's like saying because of the handful of people think they know it all because they go to college, no one should go to college. 2. The Mother Theresa thing is more to point out that religion praises and encourages people to be who are selfless, kind, generous, and good, not lunatics. 3. I'll get to the pope thing in the next comment

  • @polosaint yeah...but behind all of these "good acts" done in the name of religion, there is fucked up shit behind it

  • @lefayad1991Hey I'll be honest..the condoms thing is pretty fucked up. In just reading an article or two about it in the last 5 min, it seems (notice I say seems b/c i am neither an expert on the AIDS epidemic nor Catholic theology, so what I say could be very wrong) that the Pope is refusing to use an evil (contraceptives) as the means for a good (preventing the spread of AIDS). It's a pickle for philosophy that has sexual morality. but I would tend to think saving lives would be more important

  • @lefayad1991 You look at *anything* close enough and you find fucked up shit behind it

  • Awesome video. Religion is one giant shit stain on mankind.

  • @JabberCT i think you are being too nice

  • Thank you religion.

  • You are an example of the people waking up.

  • @truvelocity i am merely helping others wake up as well

  • Good job, Lefayad. Your video is the obvious answer to the willfully-blind hordes that keep reciting the argument that religion does more harm than good, or that atheists have no right to criticize the faith of others. Religion provides an "honorable" way for violent nutjobs to act out. Our world is crowded and very fragile. The ease of perpetrating terrorism that impacts millions is unprecedented. Religion has been given free reign and deference for too long and must be held up to scrutiny.

  • @TheAnniepies Thank you TAP, this is something that I have been saying for a long time. NO other group gets a free pass to openly discriminate besides the religious and it is absolutely stupid that we stand back and tolerate their INtolerance just because their "god" justifies it and says its ok. I dont get how we can still let em get away with discrimination against the gays just because their faith says its ok....their faith says slavery is ok and we don't tolerate that anymore. I dont get it

  • Great video! Well, sad, but great...you know what I mean. =P

  • @lefayad1991 I'd really appreciate it, if you take some time to fix it, if you mind. I use to download eye opening videos such as this one and then burn the collection to CD to pass it to people of whom I think that it might positively influence them.

    Thanks in advance.

  • The only problem I have with this video is the Muslim conquests, since they where rather "nice" compared to many other military conquests and wars. Also that for most of the time afterwards, the Caliphate and following organizations of power were usually the Center of freedom of speech, freedom of religion, science, art and more!

Though that era is sadly gone. (ofc there was horrible things done, but that was how society worked back then)

  • The drug with the worst side effects is the placebo of god.

How many have to suffer so that a few may feel comfort, a comfort they are addicted to and they wish to spread by force if necessary ?

  • Religion is the true #1 evil in this world. Then comes organized crime.

  • In the quoted bible passages, how exactly do the "stars in the sky fall to earth"?

A foolish claim, I think. A scientifically impossible claim.

  • @TychoCelchu I suspect the religious would 'interpret' that as nuclear weapons falling to earth. After all both are powered by nuclear fusion.

  • @T0X0PHILUS Pretty sure that you have to fire them up into the sky, before they can fall from it. Unless there's loads of nukes already in orbit.

If I recall correctly, nuclear weapons are either purely fission or a mix of both fission and fusion.

They can try to 'interpret' all they want, won't make their religious text any more of an accurate guide to the end of the world than the various guys who predicted that the world should have ended already.

  • Another great video, you're on a roll!

If I had seen this a few years ago, when I knew less about religiously inspired hatred I would have thought your video to be quite biased, however I think that, sadly, it's rather accurate...

  • i saw the whole show yesterday on TV

  • Man hath no greater enemy, than that of its own superstitious beliefs.

  • I lived in a small village in Bolivia while I was in Peace Corps and a puebla about 25 km away burned a man alive because of 3 "unexplained" deaths that happened..I asked them why they would do such a thing They said that it was ok because while they were dousing the man with gasoline he confessed to being a witch. All the children gathered the wood, so much wood in fact that it was still smoldering the next day.

  • @cmsalvagio That's shocking and sad. Who wouldn't 'confess' to ANYTHING when subjected to such trauma? Some humans are such scumbags...

  • @finlarg when the priest (a good man from Michigan) visited the puebla to investigate. He talked to some of the people there and after he was done vising the "scene of the crime" if you will, they asked if he could come back the next week because a few kids needed baptizing. He obviously declined.

  • 1:29 grinda dráp!

  • I was mere hundred meters away from a bomb explosion in moscow.

    (muslim suicide bomber)

Because of one pedopriest my friend hung himself.

    (catholic religion teacher)

    I was harassed and stalked.

    (by scientologists)

And after these horrors you still want me in your bloody religion???

This video brought all those painfull memories back.

Go believe in your fucking god, but leave others in peace.

  • @SEThatered i'm so sorry about your experiences my friend. My condolenses go out to you and the family of your friend who hung himself. I too have battled depression and suicidal tendencies so i know how difficult it can be for the person and those around him/her.

  • @lefayad1991

    Thank you.

  • @SEThatered my friend Veronica had a sister that went to a tour in saudi arabia, her sister was taken hostage by religios extremests for a sex slave trade. We never saw her again

  • Funny that the Gods don't step in and take action for our terrible behavior. Hell, at this rate, I bet there is more evil in the world than that of pre "Noah's flood". God's thinking "Gee I wish I hadn't made that promise to humanity I DUN FUCKING GOOFD"

  • @Itsquinnlollz lmfao, if i could influence people to thumbs up a comment, i would lead them to this comment lol

  • @Itsquinnlollz So that's why we have double rainbows now. God just has to give us two; one to remind us, and one to remind himself.

  • It is truly the demon-haunted world.

  • Is the jumping intentional or due to some video processing error? It's quite distracting of this otherwise great video.

The witch burning really shocked me.

  • @SeltsamerAttraktor i think it may have to do with the conversion of some of the videos from a lower resolution (360p or 480p) to a higher resolution for the video (720p)

  • Comment removed

  • @SeltsamerAttraktor Ditto with the witch burning, though I've seen the footage before.

I've had problems with video footage jumping before, I don't know the cause for sure, but I suspect it's because my hard drive is nearly full and takes FOREVER to render edited videos...

  • Keep them coming, they are greatly appreciated i assure you.

  • good vid

  • @mcdonaldscott24 thank you friend

  • The clip of the beating of the transgender woman seriously gets my blood boiling.

  • @Cellan86 i don't blame you. You can see her convulsing from the beating she took. its quite sad

  • I can't say I agree with most of the assumptions in this video, but very well put together at a minimum. It certainly makes you think about the most radical pieces of the different religions. By the way, Was the beating of the Transgendered woman religiously based? I didn't hear anything about religion play a part.

  • @losoyo I don't believe the beating of the transgender woman was religiously motivated, however it is meant to represent other acts of discrimination towards homosexuals by the religious communities

  • @losoyo however, she was beaten when the two assailants found out she was transgender and i do believe that the main reason that people of the gay and transgender communities are discriminated against to this day is because of religions

  • @lefayad1991 Hmm.. Interesting. Fair Enough. Keep up the Vids man.
