  • I wonder if i made it big one day, i could bring back the old country style. I would do anything to see this stuff come back to todays world, maybe if they would listen to a little more of this and alittle less pop (Lil Wayne) the world wouldnt be in half as bad shape. Thumbs up?

  • Hi im 12 i love this song ! I love my grandad he absolutely loves this song ! PLease like up my comment so i can show him this x Also becuz im making a lyrics/homemade video of this song to keep the momentum alive subscribe and like this comment pretty please x

  • The best Hank is immortal there is nobody to touch him

  • I dont even consider Hank Williams, country music. it's honky tonk. and cooler then most anything today.

  • Hank 3 looks just like sr.

  • Happy Birthday Hank Williams.

  • "New" country is correctly called "Pop Country", because it's made by the same industrial corporate music machinery that makes regular Pop music. It has no soul, no talent, no creativity, and a generic, bland sound that appeals to the widest possible spread of tasteless morons. The artists are cookie cutter and all sound alike, and a lack of singing ability is no handicap since they just Autotune it (just like in regular Pop).

  • @EntropicMisanthropic I hear ya. The youngest Country musician I listen to is Doug Kershaw.

  • @EntropicMisanthropic thats why i listen to texas country

  • @EntropicMisanthropic "New Country" should Suck Country beccause it sure does SUCK !!!

  • @EntropicMisanthropic wtf country song uses autotune?.......IDK "Settle for a slowdown" is still pretty good to me.

  • @EntropicMisanthropic Pop means popular. New country is called pop country because its the country music that is popular right now - But who cares about genres anyway? Then you go on and make a broad generalisation and rant like an infant. And no, you'd never use autotune - you'd pitch correct if anything. Hank Williams would not be proud.

  • 3 dislikes? Seriously, how can you dislike Hank? This is some of the best music ever made, in my honest opinion.

  • @snoopywoodstok81 Who say that?

  • @snoopywoodstok81 Probly some liberal douchebag from the northeast

  • @yamachicken haha amen brother

  • Aroooooooh!!!

  • i got to see hank in concert..he was with a traveling show promoting a patent medicine callrd HADACOL must have been about 1948

  • @JuliusCaesar1914 my dogg Caesar said 'that Lady Gaga GUY' ROFL!!!

  • Boy oh boy he was a handsome fella :)

Hank was a legend... still is!!

  • 'The Hillbilly Shakespeare'

His songs are just amazing, effortless wordplay that rank up with the best of any songwriter before, then, or since...

  • Hank you remind me of a much happier time. you bring back memories of good old sunny days. You bring back memories of the fair grounds when cotton candy was real cotton candy. Soft cool summer nights at the drivein threater. Beautiful star lit nights when men were running their hounds through the night hunting coon and anything they could chase just for the fun of it. you will never br forgotten.

  • hey donlonm ur right hank 3 isn't a hank sr impersonator because he isn't and never will be as good as his granddaddy or his father he does do his own thing and not that good i might add but if you even really knew a damn thing about him or his family then you would know that hank jrs mom made him be his daddy listen to his music or watch his movie you wouldn't say that why do you think he started singing his own songs, it was cuz he said i'm not my dad and i wanna sing my own songs

  • written on his way from wichita falls texas to ft worth to meet with jimmy dickens who didnt like this song.

  • theres 2 things it seems like the South will never forget about. Dale Earnhardt And Hank Williams. God Bless both of em.

  • Same tune as Rainbow Stew by the Hag

  • LEGEND

  • Hard to pick a favorite Hank song, but this is prolly it. The man had a sound.

  • With a grandpa that's bigger then Elvis an Sinatra together I think he's doing pretty darn well!!!

  • ahoooouuu!!!

  • that one dude dont have a life sould respect great singers

  • @ajhorton18 Yeah,he should have some respect for the greatest music ............

  • his music will never die. some of the younger singers are singing his songs.

  • Hank III? You mean Shelton? The Hank impersonator that's making a livin' off his dead Grandpa? He's a POS that couldn't make it on his own non-talent. Shit, how many Elvis impersonators are there? He's just doin' Hank, that's the only difference.

  • @mmm789mmm 3 aint tryin to do Hank sr he may kinda sound like him but damn he for sure aint no impersonator 3 is some of the only country music still around so dont be talkin shit 3 does it his way try some of his assjack or hellbilly and then call him an impersonator

  • @mmm789mmm III is no impersonator you dumb Bastard. Hank junior was. Hank 3 does his own thing and doesn't give a shit about what people like you think, a real rebel. go to hell and listen to your faggot country

  • love this Hank is timeless

  • It was Jimmie Rodgers then Earnest Tubb and Hank Williams. The womens side was Patsy Montana, Kitty Wells and Patsy Cline. I remember all of these names.

Why can't Country Music have great singers now a days. All I hear these days is noise and a few words.

  • its tradtional country/pure but belive it or not hank had more of a soul to his

  • Son Steven loved Hank Williams < this was one of his favorites. Love And Miss You ... RIP 9-11-77 10- 27-08

  • Great!

  • Hank left such a huge mark on this world. I am sorry he died so young. What a great great talent.

  • Hank Williams is a true American Country hero. Drank himself to death in his 30s. Rest in Peace Hank

  • one of my favorite hank williams songs, it just makes me feel good

  • the simplicity of his language, and the magesty of his soul were a combination that can never be repeated, or replaced. if only he had lived another 29 years, think of the music he would have brought us. a true shining light in the darkness of the formulae music industry.

  • after all these years since hank died there are still singers today that record his songs. that should tell you how good he was.

  • greatist country singer ever hank williams sr.

  • country music at it's purest form...great shit!

  • This is where the talent all started, with Hank Sr. He was a legend in Country Music.

Others have tried to copy and piggy back onto his fame but Hank Sr had a style that was original from my point of view.

  • Why is everyone knocking Hank 3? He is from a different generation than his grandaddy, but is talented in his own right. It's understandable to make comparisons but each one is right for the time. I happen to like both of them and won't hear a bad word said about either one, great musicians and and singers. Come on guys, open your minds up a bit.

  • @onemellowdude I don't know much about Hank III, but I agree he can't hold a candle to his Grandpa, but that's okay, nobody else can either. After all these years, Hank is totally peerless.

  • Y'all should check out Hank's grandson Hank Williams III - do a search on youtube - he sounds exactly like Grandpa! AMAZING!

  • hank was the first music superstar...hank...the doors...johnny cash...hendrix...kiss...some of my all time faves

  • great tune

  • Oh memory lane... my mom loves Hank Sr.

and these songs played all through out my childhood.

    Love it.

  • Hank WROTE masterpieces... he was a tortured genius

  • Hank is the best ever.

  • AWSOME SONG! HIS GRANDSON ( HANKK III) DID A GREAT VERSION OF IT ALSO

  • Yay! A wolf song!

  • @Eddy2730 Sure is, ain't it? LOL

  • I wake all my neighbors by opening every window in the house just an inch.

I play hank and everyone's dog starts barking at the same time. I adjust loud enough for a small dog to hear. Once they start the big ones always follow.

    Try It!

  • This Is Like Rock N Roll

  • His grandson does one heckuva good version of this song...even looks like him!!!

  • he was a sexy man!

  • Hank III has brought country back to life

  • now listen to Hank II Howlin at the Moon OMG they sound almost exactly the same

  • REAL country music needs to come back

  • hank williams got a lot of people believing in country music again.

  • I grew up listening to Hank as loud asI could laying my head next to the speaker as not to wake up my family waiting to go milk cows at 4:30 in the morning

  • One of my son Stevens favorite song! RIP STEVEN 9-11- 77 10-27-08

  • this his 1 of hanks best tunes ever god bless

  • Bless this man. A legend

Me that thought once that country music sucked. That's because I never heard of the REAL country !

  • @MeekDrill i thought the same way until i heard him,he had a huge impact on rock n roll too. :)

  • @MeekDrill You're not entirely wrong. Country Music *nowadays* sucks. But back when Johnny Horton, Merle Haggard, Hank Williams Jr. and Sr., Bobby Horton, David Allen Coe, Charlie Daniels, Johnny Paycheck and the rest of the outlaw boys and older country men were in charge, thats when it was best.

  • @Describingthelost there is still good country... lot of independent acts still producing good old timey stuff... Unfortunately the stuff that sells best is mostly crap...

  • @mbalavi eh, I can literally fit most of modern "country" music songs that are still good on one comment bar. I think its mostly cuz they quit tellin stories, tellin jokes or tryin to be funny. The new bullshit the play bought into the modern day pitch, which is *quite literally*; sex sells. Its almost all about women nowadays. But I won't lie, Toby Keiths "The Angry American" written for the two towers, that one got to me.

  • @Describingthelost lol true true... I recommend listening to some alt country stuff that might not be making the radio or the charts. Try a group called Songs Ohia, especially the album called "Magnolia Electric Co."

  • @Describingthelost American soldier is a great song by him also. American ride is a newer song but I think it is a good song. Some of the new country sounds like rock and roll and that doesnt bother me.

  • tried to tree a coon?

  • as in having your dog chase a racoon up a tree.

  • hank iii

  • luv it!!!its sad nuffing like this iz made today

  • The best!

  • Hiram King Williams, was, is, THE KING OF COUNTRY MUSIC!!!

  • And btw, Hank 3 ain't like his granddad, no! But I ain't no hypocrit christian who thinks he's holier-than-thou! So, leave Hank 3 alone!!

  • Great tune by a great artist! 5 stars!

  • Hank Williams, Maybe the first King of Rock and Roll but Nobody knew it.

  • i think hank was the next best thing to elvis.

  • Hank 1 so much better than Elvis for F@#!&%s sake you ever heard John Prine Elvis was out of his league compared to Hank, Conway, &Loretta

  • Well what made elvis special is his fusion of R&B with Country, Blues with Hillbilly.

  • thats very true

  • he was the king of country music

  • was?? still is my friend..still is, always has and always will be

  • Comment removed

  • this was my daddy favorite song when he got drunk howling at the moon

  • Nothing like the REAL Hank. Hank 2 and 3 are *&*&^%$#

  • haha 3 would be ight if he got his act together but jr was pathetic ,he was decent before 1975 but after 75....he was horrible

  • he wrote all his own songs.. most of them are bout his wife like this one because his wife was cheating on him but he loved her alot... he died aorund 25 of over drinking too much

  • he sang songs written by someone else from time to time. Lost Highway was written by Leon Payne.

  • not disrespect but he died at 29. 1923-1953.Just thought id let ya know.

  • thanks someone told me 25 so i just went with that thanks

  • Yep yep no prob, i know way too much bout Hank that that was an easy one i just had to say something, for some reason i always have to correct ppl on that cause they think he was 27 but i think thats because alot of singers died at 27,anyhow thanks for not takin it the wrong way.keep honky tonkin.

  • This Man Was A Songwriter. He Doesn't Get The Respect He Should. Re-instate Hank To The Grand Ol' Opry.

  • hank jr. was,nt bad when he first started singing his daddy,s songs but he turned too hippy.

  • if you like Hank Sr, you will love hank iii. He looks and sounds like ol grandpa

  • cept for all the cussing lol

  • don't listen to him. III does it good... ; )

  • yeah looks and sings like him.dont get me wrong i like 3but holy hell does he use the language unlike country usually does.i do amend his commitment to play for the generation his granddad did but hope he dont go cussin up a storm in front of em,that kinda gives them the idea he isnt religous like Hank sr,shoot idont know im just ramlin but i wish he knock out the cussin so much.3is hank sr's spittin image tho lol

  • Hank III played at this satanic wedding on 6-6-06. I wonder what his granddad would think of that.

  • Did he? that just pisses me OFF omg!!! that kid may look like his Granddaddy but he sure as hell dont act a thing like him...playin that at a place like that and on 6-6-06 what the f*** is wrong with him dammit,i know what sr would do if he was here,he'd beat his ass with the "Good Book" lol and boy does he need it.

  • old hank is better though, take this song for example

  • old hank and hank the third, fuck yes

  • I would have to agree his lagacy is still alive .This is real country real problems smokey saloons and whiskey spilling on the counter good ol'boys just want to have a good time. Not like the glam country today in your face hey where making money off of you.

  • @ToddGustafson HANK THE 3RD IS REAL COUNTRY

  • @RiseingAshes

Hank Sr paved the way for recording artists around the world. hank III is country but not real country. george jones and waylon "waktasha" jennings is real country.

  • @RiseingAshes no he just plays it in honor of his papy but he sucks at it

  • @ToddGustafson I agree there is a lot of pop country now a days and it is true most of it is corporate country, decisions based only for monetary reasons. But I also think the reason country has been watered down is that there is no more real country experience anymore, so any kid with a cowboy hat and a guitar with any affinity for country, however true his intentions are, doesn't have the experiences behind him to write about. In essence, he must fake it, and it shows in today's country genre.

  • @rgvhen ..well said. hank lived it. he grew up in an already poor south, in a poorer depression. hank saw poverty and suffering nobody does today. at least in the usa. he also saw a work ethic & level of rural labor that people just dont have to endure now. yet, he was also embedded in the bible belt w/ people w/ real faith who found joy in such desperate conditions.& yes he also saw the rise of hotrods & movies.all that was aroud hank & like a poet he soaked it and projected in verse and voice.

  • His grandson Hank III is the ghost fo Hank Sr.

  • and Wham he changed my tune-best line ever

  • "The man he took a mohn-key rainch"! I love Hank Sr. He makes you cry but then you can go to another of his songs that'll make you laugh your freakin BUTT off!

  • Great Song, I remember my Dad playing this on the old 78 when I was a little kid.

    Thanks for sharing,

    5 stars
