  • The cameraman's a dumbass, grab the pilot chute not the bridle.

  • great effort from the cameraman

  • It's called a hook knife. Carry it, use it. Well done none the less in the efforts.

  • @LozzaTurbo exactly what I was thinking.

  • my mouth was in africa when i seen this :O

  • life savour

  • That's a wingman right there. Couldn't imagine collecting my shit together for even 2 seconds and doing that while falling from the sky o.O

  • The camera man could not free them, what happened next? did they land ok?

  • How about going for the reserve handle a lot sooner as you fucked it up and got the drogue wrapped around your leg after you tried a "cool" exit for the camera and failed horribly. These are innocent passengers lives people, wake up. Exit stable, throw drogue into clean air and take the boring ride down. It's a job.

  • @mattryan13 took the words right from my mouth. I hope this guy lost his TI job. Or at lest forced to take time off.

  • awesome how the cameraman just dives to help them! great job

  • REFUND

  • I also would have started by taking the Shoes off each jumper... most likely that would have let the line slide off the foot.

  • D:

  • What was the cameraman thinking.... Probably "CUT, that's a wrap"...

  • u are an hero :D

  • That was intense

  • cameraman did nothing. you can see at reserve deployment drogue line is still wrapped around both guys legs. In fact, by trying to clear tangle, cameraman may have simply delayed the the diver's reserve deployment.

  • I think the camera men is an excellent flyer and did his best to clear that drogue, are you a skydiver ? how you ever been in a situation like that to judge ?

  • @chomelos mate I'm not criticising his effort, I'm simply pointing out that he made no difference. He failed to clear the drogue, therefore all these posts saying that he saved the guy etc are incorrect. Further, according to some skydivers who posted below, the correct procedure in this situation is an immediate reserve deployment. But I don't think he could do that as the cameraman was above him, trying to help.

  • OMG

  • damn!

  • Nice attempt by the camera operator to untangle it. I bet that hurt like a bitch when the reserve deployed.

  • Why does everyone like this ... This ain't funny ! O-M-G!

  • херасе...

  • You owe that guy copious amounts of beer when you get down.

  • @cupomash2 i completely agree lol......i prolly woulda had a heart attack as soon as i saw it wrap around my leg.

  • and to mrblack get on it man just a small hurdle to get over for a lifetime of fun

  • yeah no kiddin better be thankin the camera flyer

  • i bet that guy is glad he paid to get his tandem filmed. Thanks camera man!

  • @adz2906 didnt look like the camera man fixed anything... tandem pulled reserve chute

  • Bloody hell, Id love to to do my aff but I dont like the idea of a tandem jump. Reason being if theres a problem then id rather be the one to deal with it. Hate the idea of putting my life im someone elses hands in that way...

Ah well, at least this customer has got a story for life! He must of crapped himself! =O =)

  • yes i am style life

    why what??

  • You gotta love the way the cameraman tried to clear the drouge... I kind of thought he was gonna go for a hook knife but I guess he didn't need to.. seems like the main cleared it.

  • hook knife..?

  • OMG. WOW!

  • I had my 1st tandem jump today and glad i didn't see this before! :) The student didn't arch well. I think no one died here as reserve opened and pulled tandem well up from camera man. They were lucky! Probably they had 50/50 chances for the reserve to tangle up.

  • Only someone who skydive before know that this is BS, they tied the hope in their lags, that litlle chute was suposed to be tighted to main chute, they were only trying to get some viewers, good tryed.

  • @luiznano2007 ..."the hope in their lags"... I skydive & I have no idea what you mean... maybe the terminology is different where you are ???

  • @luiznano2007 Not BS.. very real situation. the "little CHUTE" is tighted to the main chute but on a tandem... it is a 2 part deployment.. first releasing that smaller Drouge chute... to maintain a constant belly to earth body position, and maintaining a slower fall rate... then at deployment altitude the main canopy is released.

  • I was a tandem instructor up until about 2002....This is why I quit doing it...not worth 25.00 a jump

  • holy shit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! my heartbeat!!! wow crazy man! ithik the main chute saved them..

  • Kid needs to arch his dang back! Look at those floppy legs. No wonder they got all tangled. ARCH!

  • WHAT HAPPEND THEN???

  • 0:46 is priceless

  • @IAMLOST ....

  • that was scary......

  • yea cops55, in this situation any main pull could have made this a double fatal. normal procedures are both main handles, cut away, & reserve(if you can beat the rsl). the tandem master created the problem by pitchin unstable, which i've seen many get away with sometimes. not good. if the main had been pulled there could have been a horseshoe & reserve entanglement. scary thought. tandem master got lucky on this one going straight to reserve, really, only choice left, all within a few seconds.

  • 0:57 look of extreme terror on the guy's face. can't say that I blame him.

  • Did they die?

  • Goodjob by camera jumper

  • nice

  • Holy fucking shit cock.

  • pause @ 0:58 that guy most definately shat himself.

  • Comment removed

  • bad situation, having been a cameraman, i wouldn't go near that, plus, you can't untangle that mess, a drogue inflated stands near 5 foot tall, alot of tension on it. reserve was the only chance. tandem master has procedures to go through, pull both main handles, pull cutaway, pull reserve. like i said, bad situation.

  • @Qballfph Bad idea to pull any main handle....the drogue is inflated and the ligne tangled....pulling a main handle would at best be useless....but it can provoke a bad leg injury......only option possible in the procedure....Reserve....

    Hook knife.....hahahahaha.....

  • Get stable then deploy the drouge, 100% instructor error, he should have his rating pulled

  • Why is everyone here praising the camera man here...

    1) They got tangled

    2) Camera man went to help

    3) Camera man stopped helping and left

    4) (they remain tagled but reach an altitude where they need to deploy)

    5) They deploy the main chute WHILE STILL TANGLED

The camera man's only option was to pull a knife to cut it away. Whether or not you all agree, that was his only option, and he failed to do it. Camera man should not be blamed, but he deserves just as much praise as the pilot.....

  • @squrelbate Not a sky diver myself, but if I were cameraman - i'd go up to the drogue chute and collapse it to decrease the pull. Would it help? Any pro skydivers out there care to comment?

  • @andr01d1 I'm a skydiver but not a tandem instructor. I'm not sure if that would help. You see, the drogue is there to stabelize the fall and also to slow it down. Without a drogue a tandem can reach speeds of 200mph instead of about 120 mph with drogue. Also if you try to fly above a tandem to catch the drogue you "fall" on them because of the absence of relative wind.

  • @andr01d1 yes, as a skydiving Camera man with over 1100 jumps myself (never having saw this happen in real life) I would have tried to grab the Drouge chute.. by grabbing in my hands... which would have made the line have NO tenstion.. and gave it a few seconds to see if they could get UN-tangled...after a short time of messing with that.. out would have came my JACK the RIPPER hook-knife, cutting the drouge away, so the reserve would have a clear path to come out.

  • @andr01d1 i've been hit by a drogue before. hard as a rock. i avoid them at all costs these days

  • @squrelbate waooo are we watching the same video?? camera man didn't LEAVE he stayed in the game until the Tandem master deployed... granted camera man had very little results if any.. if I were a Tandem master.. I would want this Camera man with me... he did the best he could seeing there was a situation.. the camera man tried what he could do, to help out... a tandem master has his hands full with 175lbs of dead weight strapped to the front and 45 lbs of gear strapped on your back...

  • Did you ever see how thick a tandem drogue line is? I entirely doubt the hook knife solution here.

  • Holy shit, just imagine what would have happened if that guy didn't pay to get it filmed. D:

  • tell me is deid or no??

  • @vivealgeria1 tell me is deid or no....WTF

  • @silencer765 i just try to know if he styl life :)

  • @vivealgeria1 styl life? what happened to your keyboard? duh

  • @silencer765 you clearly saw the reserve chute open

  • Hook knife, hook knife, hook knife, hook knife

  • gooood jooooob

  • camera man = the man! tandem student = useless! glad everyone's alive with adrenaline

  • damn i would have craped my self and on the instructor lol

  • great job by the camera guy....barinit is absolutely right....DO NOT deploy the drogue when you are unstable!

  • haha that's some scary shit.

  • Mistake #1: Unstable Exit

Mistake #2: Unstable body position when deploying drogue

    Mistake #3: Non-standard malfunction handling

Guys, please, this is ABSOLUTELY EXACTLY how some of the deadly tandem-accidents happened in the past!!!

Do STABLE exits. Do NOT use the drogue to get stable. And if you experience a malfunction, adhere strictly to the recommended procedures for the handling of the particular malfunction (drogue-bridle entaglement with foot: immediate RESERVE).

  • @NathanAsani +1 :-)

  • HOOK KNIFE RESERVE

  • no way you're cutting through a tandem bridle with a hook knife, or any bridle

  • @MagicMalky maybe not.. but I bet I could slash the Drouge chute up enough to callapse it.. so there is no drag.. letting them re-route it off of their legs, and less chance to hang up in the reserve.... got nothing else to do with the rest of your life... may as well try to save your ass for the next 2 mins.

  • @Cricket202 i looked into it after watching this vid and i have been told repeatedly that you can get through a bridle with a hook knife. i now carry one

  • why the hate for something this cool. aeronatuticus is right on the money even if it's pointing out the obvious. stay top side fam...and for fucks sake be cool to each other. even if it is the interwebz.

  • @lastdaysguitar

    @TreeSniffer2

Guys just shut the fuck up! We all know TreeSniffer2 is 50% right and lastdaysguitar is 50% right too. TreeSniffer2 just ignore him and lastdaysguitar STFU! Just ignore him. You guys are arguing for this? That's just plane ol' stupid! And if you guys reply back something stupid, your admitting that this fight is retarded

  • @iPodHacker1O1

    The photographer is a hero

    Treesniffer is a zero

  • @iPodHacker1O1 PS: STFU yourself you pissant.

  • Прежде чем что-то делать надо подумать, а не кретить сальто на камеру

  • The Cameraman is a HERO!

  • @lastdaysguitar he didnt do anything lol. he tried but he couldnt so the instructor just pulled the chute and hoped for the best

  • @TreeSniffer2 He's a hero for sticking with them, and doing what he could - there is obvious risk of someone grabbing him and clutching on - I reiterate: the Cameraman is a HERO.

  • @lastdaysguitar he was doing his job. which means that all workers are heroes

  • @TreeSniffer2 Go away troll.

  • @lastdaysguitar dont fucking call me a troll because ur wrong. that just pathetic kid. swallow ur pride and accept when you are wrong. dont act like a little bitch and call someone a "troll" because your too much of a dipshit to think of an argument.

  • @TreeSniffer2 Obviously you've never skydived if you don't understand the risks involved in helping people in trouble in the air - hint: it's not unlike rescuing drowning people, there is a risk even a strong swimming rescuer will be overpowered.

The camera man is a HERO, and YOU are a foul mouth stinky little TROLL who is a puppet and will have to respond to this observation ...because you are a stupid TROLL.

  • A 'troll' is someone who comments with the intention of causing an argument. simply said "he didnt do anything lol. he tried but he couldnt so the instructor just pulled the chute and hoped for the best" there is nothing mean about that at all. you are the one that turned it into an argument so guess what that makes you?? yup a TROLL!!! I cant wait to hear ur response to this so I can prove that wrong as well:)

  • @lastdaysguitar i would say he is a hero if he was successful in untangling the guys but he didnt. thats like calling a fireman that let a bunch of kids inside a house burn a hero because he tried to save them. it is his JOB! if you do not have the mental capabilities to understand that then you are retarded. and stop calling me a troll. you clearly do not understand the meaning of the word.

  • @lastdaysguitar "and will have to respond to this observation ...because you are a stupid TROLL." haha thats just like saying "if u talk then ur wrong." just give it up kid. it is a job. you can say he is a hero but im saying he just has common sense.

  • @TreeSniffer2

    Trolls (like TreeSniffer2) suck.

  • @lastdaysguitar GOOOD ONE!!!!!!!!! omg i wish i could have come up with that one. FAIILL!!!! hahaahaha good fight kid. take ur troll ass somewhere else

  • @TreeSniffer2 is an ignorant troll.

  • @lastdaysguitar prove it

  • @TreeSniffer2 the proof of your being both ignorant and a troll is in all your previous posts.

  • @lastdaysguitar prove how i was being ignorant and a troll

  • @TreeSniffer2 I just did, but as you're a stupid troll here are the reasons I think you are ignorant & a troll:

Ignorant: you were completely ignorant of the potentially immense danger of approaching potentially panicked divers having problems - even after an explaination.

Troll: you contentious stupidity and swearing explain why you are a troll more than any explaination I could give.

  • @lastdaysguitar

    1. You insist on repeatidly calling me a troll (as if it were the only word your little mind could comprehend) after I defined it for you allready. Since you cannot seem to comprehend it, a troll is SOMEONE WHO MAKES A COMMENT WITH THE INTENT ON CAUSING AN ARGUMENT. i had no intent on causing an argument. you did!

    2. you started this entire argument after a nice comment I made disagreeing with you. therefore you are the troll

  • @lastdaysguitar Ignorant: i did not say a thing about the immense danger of the divers. I dare you to quote exactly where I said it because I never once did and you shall be proven foolish.

Troll: Last time I checked, proving someone wrong is not showing stupidity. And the fact that you are calling me stupid is pretty ironic:

  • @TreeSniffer2 Hey stupid troll: Yes you did - when you contended that the photographer is not a hero for attempting to save them - he went WAY BEYOND doing his job!

I've proved you wrong again, and the fact that you are misusung the word "ironic" is pretty stupid.

  • @lastdaysguitar HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA ur so freaking dumb! i did not misuse the word ironic. and the fact that you continue trying to argue despite the fact that your are getting proven wrong every time is just pathetic! I will tell you what. I will save you from any further embarrassment and end this whole thing right now. And if you are stupid enough to reply to this then that just proves that you are admitting you lost the argument and you are behaving like an immature child.

  • this is crazy, lucky the cameraman was here to help!! otherwise, it would have been a disaster. I agree with Aeronautics 737, You have to be careful guys, even if you an experienced skydiver!! And especially when you are doing tandem, you can't play with life of others. I am planning to do my first tandem in March and believe me, I will make definitely make sure I choose the right instructor to do it. In fact my boss Kane is an experienced skydiver and he will make sure all is ok!

  • @jamiethomas02 The camera man didn't resolve anything. He just delayed the inevitable reserve drill. Dangerous thing to do messing around with the drougue. He may have ended up injured himself if not more!! :-/

  • @siwilk0 thanks for explaining it to me, sorry for the mistake. as you know, I am quite new to this but I find the sport very exciting. However, it can be quite dangerous and this kind of video must show experienced and non-experienced skydivers that there is always a limit to respect, otherwise it can turn ugly

  • @jamiethomas02 : I hope you enjoys your skydiving experience. Blue Skies :-)

P.S Jumping tomorrow and its suppose to be -15 degrees C, What a bummer!

  • @siwilk0 IO can't wait!!!! I do a lot of extreme sports and this is something I always wanted to do. I will definitely not go during the winter like you, lol ;) you are mad!!! hehehehe lol

  • @jamiethomas02 do it you wont regret it, and as far as doing it in winter i do it in ireland and am at the end of my aff course, trust me during freefall you dont feel the cold

  • Yeah, let's deploy the drogue when we're upside down and our legs are all over the place. Fantastic idea.

  • intense

  • That's a good friend.... HAH wow , I have those same shoe's.

  • DO NOT USE DROGUE TO GET STABLE!

  • Fair play to the vid guy for trying to sort out the idiot TI's problem .... but fuck was he in danger ... this could very easily have been three bodies ... glad everyone made it .... and to the TI ... learn your malfunction drills you fucken idiot

  • Aqui si que los errores cuestan caros!

  • h o l y sh1t!!!! i cant imagine how this poor dude must feel! stupid stupid tandem master what are you doing? this guy deserves free Aff training. at another skydiving club tho of course ;p hope it ended well

  • guy with the came is the shit

  • Erm, this doesn't look like much fun! Jeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesus!

  • Hero

  • You saved there lives :) your a herp

  • did my first tandem dive yesterday, was insane!!

  • the tandem-master is a sick son of a bitch!

  • Worst nightmare... The bridal getting wrapped around some one not arching like they should be... How did this end? They were still tangled when the video cut off.

  • lolllll

  • is it possible to be strangled by the drogue while spining?

  • scary!! I would have wanted the camera man to stay away, and would have probably let the reserve go past the drouge alot sooner :/ I am a Strong TM, only 100 TDMs

  • Idk what some of you are seeing, all I saw was the pilot chute was tangled with the kids leg...

  • 1: hook knife

    2: cut drogue

    3: dep res

    thanks bye

  • Holy shit!!!

  • did they die? or r they ok?

  • @818arthur 1:01 indicates that the parachute opened correctly. Slajder unfolded properly. links are not interwoven , so they had a 100% chance of survival. The only thing that could happen to them is a skin abrasions and bruises after the opening of a parachute in the wrong body shape.

  • OMG thats terrible!!...BLue SKies and always good landings!!

  • i wanted to see the newbie's face haha

  • I'd like to see the rest of the footage if someone has it.

  • Goodjob by camera jumper.

  • goood job man

  • This guy should of been stable

  • Well the good thing was that since the instructor never tapped him on his shoulders the kid never uncrossed his arms...

  • hij is zijn hart verloren toen hij viel =D rofl

  • I would have been like "Oww. Oww. Oww, GET IT OFF ME!!!!

  • Did they alive?

  • Shat my pants! really!

  • Good job!

  • the photographer could have used a hook knife, and then the tandem instructor could immediately deploy with less worry about an entanglement

  • @basejumper3

Yeah, I was thinking that too, but you'd be surprised how many vidiots don't have hook knives (in fact, at my DZ the head video guy used to give me shit for wearing one, believe it or not. Fat piece of shit).

But it is an interesting dilemma, do you swoop in with your hook knife and saw away at it, hoping the tandem master won't dump the reserve into you, or just let him dump the reserve.

For me, it would depend on the tandem master. If we had a lot of air time together, maybe.

  • 8 secondi prima di estrarre lo stabilizzatore... non sono un po' troppi!!!????????????

  • me iva a tirar pero ahora si qe no! me muero si me pasa eso

deci qe estaba el de la camara!

  • Ridonkuluos.

  • fuckin hell

  • Can that shit Friyer.

  • DUDE, Dude, Dude!

The Camera Guy is trying to help but he is in the way of the reserve deployment!!!

Notice the World Team 2006 Helmet on the instructor!!! Nice one bro!!!

This video shows that shit happens and if you pitch the droge on your head, it can really wrap arround your feet or the students.Have fun out there, but tandems are a work jump!!!

    Cesar- 3000 plus tandem jumps

  • you cant deploy the reserve shoot if your tangled in part of the first one and why would he use the reserve when the main shoot hasnt even been deployed ?

  • he had the camera in 1 hand i dont think he could have both a knife and a camera while falling at 120 mph, the instructor is a good man.

  • @WonderNoobie he isnt holding the camera its attached to his helmet. all skydivers carry knives.

  • oh, it looked like it has in his hand. I dont know much abotu sky diveing Dx

but you cant say that he didnt save that guys life.

  • pause it at 38 secs and you can clearly see both his hands, therefore the camra was on the helmet.

  • I know, somebody told me its on his helmet

  • Mistake #1: Unstable Exit

Mistake #2: Unstable body position when deploying drogue

    Mistake #3: Non-standard malfunction handling

Guys, please, this is ABSOLUTELY EXACTLY how some of the deadly tandem-accidents happened in the past!!!

Do STABLE exits. Do NOT use the drogue to get stable. And if you experience a malfunction, adhere strictly to the recommended procedures for the handling of the particular malfunction (drogue-bridle entaglement with foot: immediate RESERVE).

    Blue skies ;-)

  • like my instructor always said "BELLY 2 EARTH!, BELLY 2 EARTH!!!! BELLY 2 EARTH!!!!!!!!!" THEN PULL THE DROGUE!!!!!
