  • Repentance in Greek is "Metanoia" a change of mind.

"These thngs I write unto you that ye sin not, AND IF ANY MAN SIN we have an ADVOCATE with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteoues!"

"If we say we have no sin WE DO LIE AND the truth is not in us."

  • That Baptist preacher gets sadder and sadder the more I watch this debate.

  • Christianity is a joke and the thinking of its followers are sub human. Take away your Bible's and your silly religion has nothing to stand on. You people rely on nothing but circular logic revolving around this evil book called the Bible.

  • John the Baptist was the forerunner of Christ, elected to preach the baptism of repentance to the Jews (national Israel) Indeed if Israel would have recognized Christ as the King, the Kingdom promises of the Davadic Covenant would have been fulfilled...but Christ was rejected...thus the message to Paul to go to the Gentile ....to confuse Matthew with the Church is nuts!

  • Flesh and blood have not revealed this too you but the Holy Spirit. You can shout at these college kids all you want, but is it out of love? Remember your sounding asinine to them because their ears have not been opened to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. That is done through the working, the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. So justification and sanctification (im sure you clean, church folks know these words) is all done through the Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit! Yes, I said Holy Spirit : )

  • Mike Sprout is a joke. He is up there tickling these people's ears and he doesn't realize that most of them know it. They laugh at Brother Micah but they know he is right, and I believe some of them turned during this debate. Especially the ones really seeking the truth. God bless Bro. Micah and I am glad I had an opportunity to meet him and hearing him preach down here in Norfolk, VA.

  • @jugg2000 yet the baptist is still preaching Jesus Christ. we must be careful to remember grace as an overzealous focus on self sinlessness leads to self condemnation. there is a balance somewhere between the two. preach against sin, yet preach grace even more.

  • Brother Micah wins this debate. He is quoting Scripture. The other pastor is giving his spin on things in order to appease the audience, thus the clapping, and win favor. America is being divided, among those who believe in eternal security, once saved, always saved, and those who believe in conditional security, that they must strive to follow God even in the face of persecution.

  • @bicycledays HERETIC BAPTIST FAKE LUKEWARM SINNING PASTOR! HE IS SAYING THIS BECAUSE HE DOESN'T WANT HIS SINS EXPOSED!

  • Interesting that Micah uses the terms arrogance and pride...that's how I describe his preaching when he visits my campus. "If we say we have no sin we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us" 1 John 1:8....That is why we CONTINUALLY need Christ. Salvation was earned on the cross.

  • Did Christ say "Go and sin LESS?!"

"Be thou perfect, as your father which is in heaven is perfect"

"Those who have ceased from sin suffer in the flesh"

    "Go and sin NO MORE"

"Be holy, for I am holy"

We CAN stop willfully sinning and the Bible is very clear about this. Finish 1 John....

  • If we could, then why do we need Christ? "None are righteous, no not one"...hence why He died for us. You are using the quotes in absolutes...you know that since becoming a Christian you have sinned. If we could LITERALLY live up to God's standards then there would have been no need for Him to sacrifice His son. I am NOT saying it is a liscense to sin either.

  • Christ is the one that does it. Before Christ none where righteous. Now that he has come our works CAN be objects of glory.

I have sinned, but I know that it was in my power not to with the aid of God.

You're not finishing Romans. He goes on to say that through Christ our works are no longer dirty rags but objects of gold, precious stones, and silver if we continue struggling but can also be straw, rags and sticks if we act like the average Christian.

At no time does he say "sin less"

  • "I have sinned, but I know that it was in my power not to with the aid of God" ...but you still sinned. Do you realize what living righteous entails? (hint: it's not just 10 commandments, haha) You and Micah probably sin more than you think you do. It's not just outward actions...sin is also done internally. Again, I am not defending sin, just being realistic. It's a daily battle but at the end of the day you are saved on grace.

  • SINNED is past tense. I never ONCE said I did not still sin, but I know with enough effort I can cease from ALL willful sin. You do not need to explain to me what sin is.

    'Go an sin LESS!"

  • I agree with you then. My point is just because you haven't ceased from "ALL" yet does not mean you're going to hell. If it did, Christ died in vain. Brother Micah would say you're going to hell. He seemed to only believe that sin is external when I talked to him.

  • We can always become more and more like Christ, meaning we can become more and more knowledgeable about our secret sins. We CAN be pure in the eyes of God, and the church of Philadelphia is proof.

  • we are called to cease from sin.

  • i wonder if herod thought John the Baptist was "quarrelsome?" you cant preach to a crowd w/ a whisper

  • I agree that he raised his voice, but what he said was not wicked name calling of the sinner. The 'righteous in their own eyes' were the ones John called names. 2 Timothy 2:24-25...

  • Enough to get himself killed after only 6 months :)

  • Great job Micah!! Excellent debate on your part.

  • on this second video I can already tell the gray haired guy is just doesn't get it how do I know because he says we don't have to yell and in the passage he repeated it said rebuke it says many other words but it also says rebuke and what does rebuke mean? yes I understand we don't always have to yell at people when preaching but I know when someone is filled with the Holy Ghost whether they are preaching or listening

  • many times they can tell when someone is just yelling or when someone is really preaching from there heart and rebuking you don't have to yell to rebuke but let me say this a dead church is no good a worldly church just as bad but an on fire for God church with holiness is great! why? because it stirs the hearts of people and allows them to WAKE UP! so that its not a sleeping service and besides it brings the glory and power of God down as the Holy Ghost moves

  • because if you won a billion dollars would just say to someone in a calm voice ohhhhh I won a billion dollars no you would shout with excitement and joy and if you saw someone walking and they were blind folded and they were walking to the end of a cliff would say in a calm voice oh there's a cliff no you would shout in fear WATCH OUT! many times when Jesus preached He cried aloud the message of Jesus had power the message of Jesus drew thousands of people

  • kiekie, sorry for deleting your last entry. i was trying to respond to bibluver-I deleted his too.

  • Way to go, Bro. Micah ! Preach the Word ... the entire counsel of God ! Jesus and Paul were bold and strong in their rebuke and reproving. They never "coddled" people when they preached and stood for truth ! Most church people and leaders are proud and arrogant ! Most do feel they're too good to go to hell, while being full of ungodly wicked ways ! Bro. Micah nails it down excellently ! People don't fear God, but love self, world, lusts of sin more than Him ! Most have warped sense God's love !

  • Mike is explaining the passages he uses! He is not just ripping verse out to prove his point...Micah does not follow 2 Timothy 2:24...There is no gentleness in his delivery....Micah's verses on Jesus and Stephen's sermons...Were to 'self righteous ones.' Pride and self righteousness are the same things...John the Baptist's name calling was to 'the religious elites.' Jesus, John and everyone in the Bible never called people names as Micah has...Whimp, Sissy, homo, whore. This is not biblical

  • Jesus just called them snakes, vipers, hypocrits, two fold children of the devil and of hell, ect, ect. He called Peter "Satan". Wake up man, calling someone a "whmp" is very mild compared to the our LORD! The scriptures teach clearly "them that SIN, rebuke before all that ALL may FEAR". I don't need Mr Baptist preacher to "explain" that to me. I can understand the English language just fine! The scriptures are CLEAR! You are the one's taking scripture out of context!

  • This Baptist fellow needs to get a gutteral voice and BE A MAN! I'm sick of these EFFIMINATE squishy spined DEVILS!

  • Brother Micah hands down had more scriptures to support his position. Mike Sprout is a man pleaser! He forgets that people wanted to KILL Jesus because of what??? His preaching! Mike Sprout also needs to know that the "Word" or the "Gospel" the apostles are speaking of was mainly the Old Testament as the NT had yet to be written. The OT is a message of what? Repentance and Faith!! Preach Law, Repentance, Grace and Faith!

  • AMEN!
