  • and what are you doing filming it, think about that before you put your mouth in gear

  • Big Fuckin deal. You're real safe driving your semi while filming and jackin your jaws. Mind your own business and just drive nerd.

  • beep beep beep beep beep beep beep beep beep beep beep beep beep

  • ahhh..... that light turned orange there buddy......come back......lol

  • the camper should have been loaded from the back. and it would have worked better some people make the rest of us look bad. much like some truck drivers. and if you have ever moved over when you see us helping some one on the side of the road a big thank you for helping to keep us a live.

  • @BlackTopWariors Not really; it still would've been the same weight on the tow truck. Maybe more. There also would have been more weight on the front tires of the RV. Either way, they should have at least used a 5-ton wrecker.

  • you ran a red light you idiot.

  • it was a long wheel base f550 with the sling towing and the wheel lift was under to so it can tow alot more weight an with the slings your only carrying part of the weight as the other weight is transferd back its called weight transfer for a reason

  • One time I saw this regular full-size truck on the highway, hauling a flatbed trailer, connected to another flatbed trailer... and one of them had half the tires blown out. There are some dumb asses out there.

  • Well, it's the same for any job nowadays, if the right tool is available for a job, then that tool should be used, especially if it makes the job easier and safer.

  • I highly doubt the rv would make the front end come off the ground. The f-550 (not a 1-ton) was pretty long, and with caution would handle the load fine. Probably much safer than a cameraman driving a road tractor.

  • @gwkchevy

Well my friend, the video idea was done because the wheels were coming off the ground with every bump he hit leading up to the traffic light. As for a camera man driving a road tractor, yep, you're right. My wheels were on the ground, at a slow crawl with no one in front of me. Maybe that will be someone elses video... ;)

My point is, this day and age, there is the right equipment readily available to tow that RV safely and not put everyone around him at risk.

  • @OntarioTrucker no one in front of at 30sec. there is clearly a car in front of you that you had to stop for

  • @unknowuser1962 with the sun in your eyes .....Yes i agree the maker of this video was endangering the lives of nearby motorists far more than the guy towing that motorhome was.

  • @OntarioTrucker It's definitely not a 1-ton, even the one ton's aren't ONE ton anymore. I've seen worse than this but I've come to expect stupid stuff from canadian drivers all around; especially in the GTA.

  • You know what's absolutely ridiculous? Your dumb ass filming while driving and driving a rig none the less!!!!!!

  • An F550 has far more towing and braking capacity than a one ton. That's a little much for that truck, but it's not "absolutely ridiculous"

He had that on his sling, and I could see doing that at slow speed for a very short distance.

In the old days, before heavies, we were often asked to move big trucks out of traffic... and that was flat towing with actual one ton trucks. Was it safe? No. Did we get it done safely? Every time. It takes a special breed to be a good tow truck driver.

  • @rbryanhull

I agree with your comment about what we used to do in "the old days". I've pulled full tractor trailers off the road before using a one tonne truck. difference was, it was a disasterous situation being made safer. In this video, the truck was over extended and every bump he hit, the front wheels were comiong off the ground. If the towed vehicle is too heavy, then flat tow it. Much safer and easier to control.

  • was he towing that with his wheel lift?.....I have dual winch cables on my boom and its only a one ton, and it has no problem towing motor homes that size. Most authorities respect operators judgement on whether or not its towable and will not cite them as long as its done safely. I know all of the CHP, local PD and sheriff's in my city . Trust me its not me asking them "if" I can tow something, its usually me telling THEM How I'm gonna tow it and what , if anything i need from them.

  • Everyone I've ever known in towing sure worked hard and drank hard. But one thing they were not, was smart.

  • @ShredaSpud Great stereotype ya ignorant fuck. Too bad your wrong AGAIN. I own a tow company and I have a college degree. My drivers are required to pass drug screens and have background checks done as well as have a clean license. My employees mostly come from good families and were honor students in school. Its a different day and age in the tow industry son. Regulations, new laws, and better equipment have ensured a new breed of drivers. Stop being ignorant when you attempt to make a point.

  • GIT R DONE !!!!

  • And as for Ontariotrucker,I did heavy haul for 16 years, and all that stuff piled up on your passenger seat could be considered a hazard,it blocks some off your vision out your right side window, possibly blocking your mirror, and potential UFO's if you have to stop fast or wreck, lol

  • It really makes no difference what the tow trucks designed GVWR is if the weight is not distributed to the axles properly, and in this case the rear axle is carrying all the load.

  • don't hate!! that guys just getting shit done!!!

  • the Frod f550 is just a prettier f350, still a POS. alot of towing companies here are using the heavier C5500 GM chassis, which is much heavier & stronger for the medium duty towing.

  • @Topfueltrooper

I'm sure they are, but a 4x4 1-ton comes pretty handy. The (FROD) F-350 and F-550 chassis is totally different. Do some research before commenting on stuff you don't know about.

  • put the fucking camera down and consentrate on the road let the police deal with him you are just as much of a danger as he is call yourself a professional driver

  • A F550 weighs about 11500 lbs....the motorhome,is mostly fiberglass and wood prob weighs in the 8-9000 lbs range, putting him right at,or slightly over his GVW. I'd say a F650 with a 26000 GVW would be better, but I was commenting on how the truck was not a 1 ton,F350...the truck on the video has 19.5 tires..Our 550 has towed 12000 lbs without incident....remember,alot of the weight is still on the ground from the back tires..

  • @hedoshedo not even close with your exstimate on that motor home......my C class (converted van) wieghs 9k......that one would wiegh every bit of 15k.....but id extimate closer to 17k...you gotta remeber it has a bigger engine, a stove, a fridge, more frame length, extra seats, wall material, cabinets, extra batteries, propane tanks, extra fuel capacity, etc. etc.....it all adds up fast.

  • The 1 Ton tow truck is actually an F-550 with an extremely long wheel base. I believe the F-550 has a GVWR of 19,500lbs and would be no different then a 4500 GMC Kodiac towing that thing down the road.

  • @ve3nsv The 2011 has a GVWR of 19,500 prior to that they have a GVWR of 17,950 still plenty enough to tow that motor home which is mostly fiberglass shell and depending on how full the propane, fuel, and water are.

  • f550

  • @czois And what is the braking capacity? Same as the one tonne. I was in the towing business for almost 20 years. Although the truck can lift the weight, it is not designed to tow that size and weight. There is a difference between liftability and towability.

  • @OntarioTrucker

You are pointing out the most important aspect. Trying to get it stopped. The gross weight may be within the wrecker's GCVW, but that rating is contingent on whatever is being towed, having brakes. Let one of these 4 wheeler 'experts' have to stop a heavy trailer without brakes sometime. You learn really quickly not to pull something you can't get stopped.

  • @OntarioTrucker 1500 ft at 20 mph

  • Is driving a truck whilst handling a video camera considered safer than towing a heavy load???????

  • @chessellclan THANK YOU.

  • it's not a 1 ton tow truck...looks to be a long wheel base F550

  • @hedoshedo long wheelbase or not its the wrong truck for the job. They need a bigger wrecker. Its not safe.

  • lol i did that in Vegas !!!!!!!!

  • do be hating on making money

  • what a fucking idiot

  • Fuck it, Built Ford Tough. the driver of the tow truck knows that.

  • Looks like he needs to put a bag of sand on the hood!!!

Guess he isn't restricted to 65mph on the highway either!!!
