  • Thanks so much for taking this into a media that helps share this art form, it is beautiful and so means so much - ;D

  • is this easy to unravel? ahha sorry i keep asking on alot of videos but i want a paracord bracelet like this or the cobra that is easy to unravel exactly like the bracelets at Survivalstraps(DOT)com, if u can make one or tell me which one u have a video of that does this i would greatly appreciate it.

  • pm me if u want to buy paracord bracelets and key fobs! very cheap good quality.choose from over 15 colors and a buckle or knot

  • where can you get rope like that?

  • @mnmder army navy stores or military surplus.it is called paracord

  • i know I am way late to comment on this vid but this is exactly what i was looking for and didn't know what it is called thank you so much for sharing this. I need to find a ring and practice.♥

  • This almost reminds me of the survival braclet

  • awesome! thanks so much I'm making these for Christmas presents! I subscribed!

  • I keep plying it over n over to listen to the music love your selection [|:0) ! Easy instructions, Also. Great job !

  • I keep plying it over n over to listen to the music love your selection [|:0)

    !

  • After listening to this music I would rather tie a noose.

  • @TheMojavegreen1 good luck with that

  • Hey, how long is the cord used in this video? Thanks.

  • @Theenforcer921

seems yto be the rule that for every inch it is long you use a foot for the knotting, hope this helps.

  • Hi TIAT,

I was wondering the same thing as someone else in the comments.

At around 2:51 in the video, the ending ring magically appears already attached. It does look like a Lark's Head knot. How did you attach it to finish up?

    Thanks!

  • @PghJim2011 At about :18 it shows the ring on first and then they start at the second ring thats on the hook and work their way back down to the first ring.

  • What's the name of the music being played?

  • @Sondi6217 Its "Hljómalind" :D

  • If you think someone is bad mouthing you , get a life .... my comments were not aimed at you , you dip shit.... and while your at it you lololol freak learn to spell then you wont have to type Lol all the time.

  • Cool! Now I want to learn!

I like the Solomon Knot - but how do you make it close for a bracelet?

    I never did macrame.

    Thank you!!

  • I believe it has many names - where I come from it's called 'makrame' and there are quite a few types of knots makrame refers to although I remember learning only the basic which is very similar to or the same as this one - don't remember already. Makrame was used, among other thins, to weave nice hanging containers for flower pots. And once I found a book with nautical knots - it was makrame! )))

  • my aguillette is goin to look like this except it will be burgundy n another color i think

  • Merci,

Grace à " TIAT " je confectionne de jolis porte-clés.

    Merci.

  • By the way , some one wants to know how to hang himself ....

    Here is how:

Step one: first take one idiot .........

Step Two: oh yea there is no step Two..... Jobs done

  • @outbackdigital usually there is a rope involved

  • Will you guys that do paracord demos stop with the bloody music ... don't need it ... just talk for christ sake.... so much shit music and so few bullets

  • @outbackdigital you need to not watch this video, find someone else to bad mouth.... you can turn off the music or wait maybe you can't use your computer.... lololo

  • Hey, can someone teach me how to hang myself?

  • @BlueBurryPimp Take you a rope and stuff it in your nose. Then snort it in like a giant bugger just enough to get the end into your mouth, then take that loose end and tie it around your "sac", Take the other loose end and tie it around a radiator, or a doorknob on the second floor of your house, and jump out the window. The effect is stunning.

  • @BlueBurryPimp Thats not FUNNY!

  • Great job..... but isn't this just two half knots? All it is is a square knot. Like what you do for straight hemp bracelets?

  • would it be okay if i just used regular string for this type of bracelet?

would it look the same or just plain out weird?

  • It's a sqaure knot isn't it?, looks very much like one.

  • Like it much!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • mnnbbvcxzlkjhgfdsaqwertyuiopmlpokijunhybgtvfrcdexswzaqzaqxswcdefrbtnyhmjuki8looplo0kimjunhybgtvfrr54cdexsw3zaq2aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • Just finished my 4th braid and i think the "S" style of braid is quicker. Thanks for showing the one cord style, i was using an inner loop as the first step but i like the process of how to use only one cord.

  • @cidescandon Ok so next time if you ask him gently he will use his feet. How's that for an idea???

  • Nicely done. But I think I'll use a lighter for the end bits. I think that is a great idea for a key fob.

  • zGIRL6351: measure your waist size and make the size of the belt a couple of inches longer to tighten.

  • <3!!!!!

  • what's the proper lenght of the rope? for a bracelet i mean. I really want to make this.

  • Excellent video! Always have made clear instructions.

The only issue I have with this solomon bar/cobra stitch is the way to finish it. Just snipping the ends short and burning them does´nt seem to do a lot to keep them from untying, but everybody does it and have not seen other way to finish the knot neatly. Maybe I am just too whinning.

  • After several bracelets I must admit that the singe technique is strong enough to keep the cords in place, as any tension is made on the core cords and not in the weave cords. So I was wrong.

  • This is just macramé

  • Hint: whatever side is "up" goes behind the middle strands & goes first.

  • also known as a square knot.

  • Can you use this as a belt? If so how much rope is need to make it.

  • What's the song called?

  • dude wats wrong with an open flame do it over the sink or something

  • I use a craft heat gun to seal the ends of the paracord just thought it might be a little safer than a naked flame.

By the way your vids have great instructions, you make it really easy to follow what you do and I am pleased to say I have been able to make several of the nots. Thanks for sharing.

  • i made a slolom bar braclet but instead of makin a regular sized one i went down back up the original one tthree more times that would make it 4x cobra i think

  • this is just the cobra stitch....

  • nice video. how easy would this type of knot be to do with leather cording instead of lace cord?

  • @grimandevel323 - Really there's no difference in difficulty. Tie it with whatever cord you'd like to.

  • @TyingItAllTogether Thankyou. i shall be trying this out once i get my leather cording delivered

  • @TyingItAllTogether yeah i use boot lace

  • @TyingItAllTogether Rio Grande has this new material called silk cord it might work well with.

  • This has the same look at a square knot, but you only bring the cord over/under from one side, interesting

  • i bought utility line 1/4 inch and it says "durable nylon" but mine sure looks a lot thicker than yours, unless you have much bigger hands than me..also, how long of a piece are you using

  • Love your videos, they are clear and very easy to understand... Keep up the good work. I use to braid macrame over 30 yrs ago (you know to suspend plants!!!), wanted to use same method for bracelets but never thought of using rings as you do with only one rope as opposed to four... I will use that method from now on. Thanks!

  • great video thanks

  • Comment removed

  • i learned how to do this in chinese school... lol

  • don't know what length cord to use for a specific project. how much to make a bracelet???

  • thanks! The best!

    And I'm portuguese too! lol

  • thanks! The best!

  • I'm portuguese and I learnt that from my mom, she makes stuff like that :)

  • Would you consider doing an update video on this showing it as a bracelet in paracord with a slide release buckle similar to your video of the wide version.

I love your work, from a fellow IGKT member.

  • @KF7AIK Never mind, I see how easy it is to adapt. Although others might appreciate the instruction. Keep up the great videos. They keep me very busy with new projects. I will be buying your book shortly.

  • i do this in my hair.

  • How many inches should be attached?

  • Isn't that just a basic square macrame knot

  • Someone don't smoke cigs or weed.

I tried to tie some of theese knots stoned. It's funnier than watching a great Dane fuck a chawawa.

    But really. Thanks ! U da mang ! 5 sta fo u !

  • Awesome video. I was able to make mine the first try. Thanks bro!

  • @X605ScorpionX THANK YOU SO MUCH! this helped me more than the video itself..haha :)

  • is that piece of rope technically stronger then just 2 strands and the two rings?

  • Comment removed

  • I love making this knot, I also make bracelets out of this.

  • Oh my God I love this channel! I'll Follow you! ^_^

  • What does singing the singeing the ends do to the necklace?

  • its called a square knot. :/

  • Nice

  • nice stove

  • Dude, I have learned a lot from your vids, there are so many good ones. Your web site is excellent as well. I plan on getting the book soon. Thumbs up.

  • THATS INSAAANEEE!!! my father is a maritime captain and he used to make me all sorts of knots and ties!!! this video just reminded me of my childhood :')

  • also called a square knot. so so sooo easy to do i have no clue why people buy things with this knot for so much money!

  • note: do not try and singe ends if you aren't using a nylon based string. yarn will burn... xD <---Failed

  • How long would your cord need to be to do a complete bar with out wasting a bunch on tag ends. I'm looking to make a bar that is about 24 inches.

  • Chat with online Russian women gettop5.info

  • THANKS YOU HELPED LOT LOVE THE VID:)

  • Neat

  • OK, I have seen these as bracelets, but with the solid rings on either end, how would you clasp it, with this set up?

  • where can i buy a necklace like this?

  • Nice. Who does the song?

  • @MrJeffdamit - sigur ros: hljomalind

  • Cool!

  • Sombody has a ghetto stove

  • your my hero.. (:

it sounds kinda cheesy when you hear guys doin this.. but i used to do it all the time.. i stopped.. but i think im gonna start again ha..

  • Is this a similar weaving style to the cobra knot? Or the same?

  • how would you do this with 2 colors? one of my friends has one with 2 colors but she bought it somewhere.

  • FANTASTIC!

  • JD , I do not see the difference in the River bar and the solomon bar ?

  • Can I do this on hair??

  • Am I the only one who thinks this sounds a little like radiohead?

  • excuse me sir how would you do it with two colors?

  • Waaah this will be perfect for this necklace I want to make!! <3 Thanks for showing me how to do it!!!!!!!!

  • thanks i use this knot on all my bracelets

  • the knot that he is tying is called square knoting and he is doing a very good job of instructing on how to do it the slow way, now if you would like to see it done the fast way go see my video at oh-ka-noi it is also known as bone carving and more. mostly more i even do it in slow motion.

  • wat the hell is a soloman bar? i searched on how to make a protein bar and i got this?

  • thats the cobra stitch just from the back

  • THANKS !! Well done

  • I wear a bracelet with this knot on it and tell everyone its called an ass knot....thats what I will yank in their ass if they step out of line...

  • Where do you get paracord?

  • Hey I was wondering, where do you get your paracord? Thanks!

  • what is it for

  • Nice video

  • can i do this with a shoelace?

  • great vid, i looked at like 6-7 different tutorials and i couldnt figgure out what i was doing wrong, it just wasnt working, allways helps to see it done for you, i thought that was sigur ros. thanks again, for the great demo vid, im gonna get some paracord and make these for my friends, but with those black clip things at each end instead of rings. thumbs up.

  • How long shold the cord be?

  • @lyss190 use a long peice of rope, longer than you think you will need, then just trim the excess at the end.

  • That was awesome! even though nobody said anything, that was the most informational/best tutorial i've ever seen! thank you so much!

  • awsome this also how i do my hemp necklaces

  • Nice video!! I knew how to do the knot, but your setup for the bracelet is pretty ingenious! Having the end pieces and the length of the bracelet already complete after you make your first knot. Awesome!

  • i like mustard (spread the word)

  • my problem is i cant find video that show how paradcord braclet that like 100 ft of cord ? not been cut or lease 50ft of cord im wanting to a stuip fashion statment i need to set up if you need it to help you sav, the nite in the woods

  • what is the best way to make that into a bracelet?

  • thts called scoobidou in my country ;)

  • BWAA WHAT HAPPENED TO GRAVITY!? the cord was laying down as if it was a flat surface but the ring on the hook was hanging as if it was hanging on a wall!

really helpful video though, your one of the only people on youtube that understand that people will be looking at there hands and taking longer than you, so you pause often, and that helps a ton. keep it up!

  • What size rope are you using here? And is there a method for doing this that doesn't require rings? I'm making a staff officer cord for my ROTC unit, and he requested a Solomon Bar.

  • hi, wat kind of material are u using ? D: i really wanna try doing this :) thank u fr uploading

  • does it have to be fat string? for any kind??? like friendship bracelet string

  • ca n use normal string?

  • that basically like a cobra knot if i remember correctly could be wrong though

  • Great vid, I was able to do my first weave in no time. (an a couple of pauses in the video :p)

    Thanks !

  • what are the uses for this knot?? i mean, what would i do with this thing when im done with? besides a bracelet or something

  • Thank you

  • why a stove.......????? there seems to a simple solution to this it is called a lighter hurr durr....

  • @MultiRaegan Or you could use your heat vision and super melt them together

  • @mhks68 if that works better.......

  • How do you connect the hoops if you want to use it as a bracelet?

  • Yeah i agree with APVT80 You are probably the only person on Youtube that does this in a controlled, easy to follow manner. NICE VIDEO !

    Thank You !

  • good video and very good music, SIGUR ROS, mmmmmmmmmmmm ...

  • My question is this: when doing the "King Cobra" stitch the popular way to do it is by taking a 2nd piece of cord and doing another Solomon bar over top of it. Is it possible to do the King Cobra using ONE piece of cord? If not, how does one attach the ends of the 2-piece King Cobra?

  • Hey TIAT, this is awesome. You are probably the only person on Youtube that does this in a controlled, easy to follow manner.

  • Is there any other way to secure the loose ends, besides singing them?

  • If the bar is tied tight, you really don't need to singe the ends to keep them in place. They'll stay put. Singing is just an extra measure to make sure they do.

    JD ~ TIAT

  • You loop it through both rings when you first start before you even tie the knots down the string. then it will be there when you get to the bottom.

  • oh!! what the name of the song! playing here.

  • Sigur Rós - Hljomalind (1999)

    JD ~ TIAT

  • thanks a lot , lol for sharing this, and the other work too

  • Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with us!

At one point in this video, suddenly the piece turned over and somehow a second ring had been added to the other end. What do you do with the cord when you add that ring to create the lark's head knot on the new ring? Is it a continuation of the existing cord with just the new ring added?

  • fuck me how old is your cooker i swear my mum had oneof those when i was a kid

  • hahaha i was thinking the SAME!! thing lol lol

  • How do you untie it?

  • can this be used on a suspension ring?

  • TIAT - any info re the length of cords required to obtain a finished length?

    Thanks!

  • This music is by Sigar Ros, Lazydogdied. It IS good!

  • This is the best video I have found for clarity of making the solomon's bar..I had to replay it back 100 times..still best d*mn video for making tactical macrame" thanks for posting

  • Dude thats macramé...My Mom would be proud!!

  • Thank you for showing how to make a Solomon Bar. I love this music...Who did this song?
