Hi, I never used egyptair for long distance before. Is it cofortable for a long flight such as that one from Cairo to JFK? How is the servise? I heared some bad stuff about it. But the vedio was great, Thanks

wow . that inboard aileron was waving like Ive never seen before . pilot was over correcting all the way , that aircraft did not land , it smacked the ground . sorry but that was a shit landing . little wonder the pax clapped with relief.
if you think for few minites you will find that the 767 accident was arranged before by usa as the Egyptian plane was carrying 21 pilot and as every one knows that the egyptian pilots are the best pilots in the world also it was carrying 3 egyptian atomic scientists so what is ur opinion???

dude, the fo was a grub , he had a history of sexual harrassment. He was told the day of that flight he would be sacked by Egypt Air . He was 58 and was gonna be grounded , he crashed the plane suicide . He took all the other good folk with him. FACT .
Well what might seem normal to you might seem not normal to someone else. People have different prospective depending on what part of the world they live.
this clapping is for the smooth landing...and the weather there is hard most of the time shear all over the runway...turbelence and stuff...beside its a b777:))) and for the record egyption pilots have good reputation civil or military....
Well to be honest it wasn't the most smooth landing I ever had on Egypt air, but that day we had a lot of wind even thought it looks sunny outside, but after all it was a really pleasant flight and codos to the crew
the reason why people clap at the end of a flight is because of their feelings, they spent 'X' amount of hours worried sick and when they finally land safely they wanna express that they are happy, but egyptair have one of the worlds best pilolts and they have won man6y awards! i regularly fly with egypt air and NEVER feel take off or landing...***** Airline.!! :D
are you guys serious?? I flight more than 19 hours from cairo to Australia. Tried heaps of diffrent airlines. Does people still clap. Well its his job to land that thing! And yeah, by the book, he has to SLAM the airplane to runways to reduce speed and absorb the shock. You people still clap? when was this movie recorded? maybe they are clapping cause they never expected to live to reach JFK haha
Funny comment. but the fact is that this is more like a habit thing, i have been on many different airlines and some people do clap and some don't, here in North America people usually don't, last time i was in virgin Atlantic people did clap hands too. and it was to london ;)
He's not the only pilot that after landing receives claps... I've clapped so many times cuz I feel like thanking them for not letting us crash after all those fucking storms around central america... and a trip that takes more than 5 hours receives claps for sure.
They are clapping because it is a VERY long flight, 12+ hours. It is a great feeling to land after such a long flight, and I know that although we didn't clap when we landed after our flight from Cairo, I sure felt like clapping!
For all the people wondering why you should clap I will give you 3 reasons
1. Can you land a Boeing 777????? No exactly
2. They are kind of in control of the aircraft, and who is riding the aircraft you are, that being siad they sort of control your life for a moment or two.
I'm on a Silver Status; I used to fly them when I lived in Cairo, but now I only fly them on the route JFK-CAI-JFK and didn't have a chance to fly them domestically for about 4 years.
Heheh I don't know, the landing was smooth but people didn't even waited they start clapping like 1 second from touch down, I thought it was funny though, I guess it's just a habit
i did not like my flight . not the best service.

ok, the landing was a bit like a belly landing (no offense) but still a great landing
gigaboat,, the clapping is a sign that they loved the flight and are very happy with their day,, you can hear it, even before the touch down.
I had a similar landing and believe me, they were clapping before the touch down...
all i mean, is it's just a sign of happiness for the flight. that's all
no offense to anybody :)

I'm not so sure the passengers on board the Egyptair flight where the pilot dove the 767 into the Atlantic Ocean would agree with you on that....
