ms. boxer should have to vote for it, before she can find out whats in it. Now she should be really, really mad, since the epa now has the power to regulate fucking CO2 with no oversight and no accountability
"the greatest government in the world" please show me proof! I own a business employee 4 people and don't have health care, becuase all my customers are broke too. I can't finance crap becuase my old health care insurance provider doesn't want to make payments on my medical bills, so now my credit is screwed. I don't have a state pension or insurance I guess I will be 80 years old working at McDonalds full time just to make it! I love America can't wait until there is a revolution!
Sen. Boxer concerned over a waiver? For California, a state which is essentially broke, yet runs a huge state-level EPA organization which traditionally promulgates much stricter regulations than federal EPA? The same state where UCLA recently fired Dr James Enstrom over which appears to be controversy over the CA Air Resources Board trying to push oppressive regulation on truckers based on Hien Tran's research (a CARB staffer who lied about his PhD). This isn't funny. It's out of control!
@marine919 Yea..vote for Fiorina and you'll get more EPA disfunction & negligence -- but since that's what you like & you want corporatists & corporatism that's OK with you. And take a deep breath of those (more) toxins & pollutants in the CA air..

You want real change, vote for Larry Naritelli for Governor, a Tea Party favorite. Another favorite is John Eastman as Attorney General, to replace Jerry Brown. And Chuck DeVore to replace Senator Barbara Boxer. Now is the time to vote for real change in California!
Its just another example of how the w/cheney admin was run at the behest of their corporate sponsors. What a sham. They were willing to degrade our future generations' habitat to keep energy companies happy. They were willing to kill hundreds of thousands in Iraq and lie to the American people about it for the sake of their crusade.
Good thing times have changed. No we can get to work reversing their regressive policies. Go get up Barb!
w/cheney are the cause of the hundreds of thousands that died in Iraq. They should be tried as war criminals. Of course the root of many of these problems around the world is our dependence on oil.
Not just about oil though. War is very profitable and a nice military base in the middle east would be very handy for controlling more of the world. THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS!!! Please share as much as possible - information is power!
Yep, there have been many that have done well at the expense of hundreds of thousands. High time we end the conflicts AND our dependence on oil that caused the US to be there in the first place.
The head of the EPA was a bush admin appointee who catered to the energy companies. Read about the EPA's concerns about global warming that were edited by the White House. There were many other "tricks" they pulled to deceive the public.

And lastly why isnt every american pissed the fuck off? we are MODERN DAY WAGE SLAVES and only we the people can change that. Fuck these politicians who cant solve problems, only find ways around them. Make a fucking difference wherever you live god damn im sick of this shit
Wake up and grow up: Carbon credits are the equivallent of playing with monopoly money. Boxer is a traitor. She's just another alimony-rich housewife who treats her job as a hobby; instead of addressing *real* economic problems in California. This state is in decline because of people like her, choking us all to death with regulations based on NOTHING other than rampant greed and meglomania. Vote her out.
Actually, she was a stock broker before she became a member of congress. And typically regulations are there to temper greed, not incite it. Think before you type.
The carter administration was going to reduce emissions by 10 percent in the US but then Bush raised them 16 percent. Executive does not have the final word, maybe in a dictatorship.
Another thing any state should not exert power by supporting the Kyoto Treaty and controlling pollution standards. If they try to do it, then they should be fined or have their Congressional positions revoked until they withdrawl support on the Kyoto Treaty or pollution standards. The Executive Branch is the final word.
You cannot revoke congressional positions-they represent california's residents positions on emissions. If you take away there ability to sign a treaty which a majority of the population of california citizens support and are also the largest economy in the US it is not legal to limit the power of the states.
Who cares? If Congress and the government is doing this, we should do it too and if anyone checks you red handed, tell them this: Congress and the government gets away with it.
I feel so sad watching the US from the outside. You impeached a guy for getting a blowjob and this latest addition to the 52 already major scandals under Bush gets him nothing? What the fuck is wrong with you people. Don't you fucking care?
So lying to a jury, which was actually more of a misunderstanding about the definition of sex, is that more terrible than the patriot act? wire tapping? habeus corpus? government officials ties to exxon? the EPA scandal?
That is what happens when religious right nutcakes are appointed by the worst president ever to run agencies they don't believe in.
We will see this kind of thing over and over until we get RID of these people who want to contribute to criminal activity as much as possible, without any thought as to who they hurt or what damage to the environment they do.
Bush gave jobs to people from EXXON they came into the EPA with an agenda. They weren't even qualified for the jobs! They would WRITE laws while Americans were sleeping and then they would leave that job and go back to work for EXXON again! Bush is the biggest traitor to America!
now its "the greatest govermentin the world" as well as country give me a break! for gods sake has america ever heard of the word HUBRIS because it should be written on every dollar bill, get opver yoursleves and sort your country out!
This is damn shame. The policies of arrogance and disregard for the people and their represntatives continue unabated. When are the Democrats going to do more than whine?
When the Environmental Protection Agency issued proposed changes to air pollution rules Jan. 30,2004, the wording was identical to or closely resembled a Sept. 4, 2003, proposal given to the Bush administration by Latham & Watkins, a law firm that represents utility companies. Bush has appointed lobbyists from industry to oversee those same industries in a very corporate friendly manner. It's a fucking kleptocracy.
So, the IPCC, funded by billions of tax dollars to promote global warming as "settled science," and a creation of the U.N., a well known puppet organization of global monied interests, says its definitive, and we believe them outright? They want to tax us further, so they can subsidize more worthless alternatives like ethanol, steal a little in the process, and keep forcing developing 3rd world countries into abject poverty and debt.
So they are promoting this research so that they can continue to be funded? I suppose you could make this argument about all the research. I think it is more likely that the few scientists that disagree with the findings and that are funded by the oil industry are more likely to be corrupt.
Our gentle sister Canada has put OUR America on a "torture watch list," with Syria! Bush/Cheney have damaged our country in a way the terrorist never could; they have destroyed America's good name in the eyes of the world, and we are losing all our allies! We must demand the impeachment of Dick Cheney now; only way to kill a snake is to cut off its head!
The last poster says impeaching would be "impractical." Blah, blah, blah...it's not like we're talking about men who got blowjobs and then lied. We're talking about 2 CRIMINALS who have committed horrific crimes! Of course who can prove anything when there's NO essential access to DOCUMENTS. So, impeachment is not the issue, imprisonment IS.
For anyone interested in listening to Waxman stating that if impeachment hearings were initiated, the democrats would risk losing in the next election. HELLO! HUH???
He also admits to not reading HR1955. TERM LIMITS for our reps please as some reps, seem to be slightly complacent.
"WeAreChangeLA confronts Rep. Henry Waxman" watch?v=wei_hJdwkxY
Surprise, surprise! One issue after another, this "government" gets tighter & more secretive. SO many problems before our reps that TCB is overwhelming. A GREAT EXAMPLE IS HENRY WAXMAN admitting that he didn't read HR 1955 before signing and sending it on....it's now in the hands of JOE LIEBERMAN and company-shucks,damn, it's one wafer-thin mint away from becoming law. We're in deep the day it happens-Well all be detained for our extreme verbal protests of this disgusting corrupt "government."
Yes, its funny on the Republican side, Ron Paul gets called an "appeaser" but the real dangerous appeasers here have been most of the Congress, and its the Bush administration they've been appeasing.
"This isn't national security!" No, its not Babs, but this isn't a legit gov't anymore now is it? Bush will be gone soon, and then we'll really be wading through muck trying to figure out the depth of the dammage to everything from intelligence to the environment.
You don't think there is going to be a shredding festival yein DC next December when we are all thinking about SantyClaws and President Billary. Do you think the Clintons will be honest and transparent. HA!
The EPA is a disgrace, but what can you expect? Bush has stuffed it with partisan cronies and corporate lobbyists. The Bush Administration treats science as the enemy, contorting it into a propaganda tool to justify predetermined policies of environmental abuse and neglect.
It is critical to know that 6 weeks after the event I was at a meeting with monitoring staff in EPA who were expressing concern over the health effect of the "powdered" computer components, insulation, and other heavy metal laden material that had burned.
Given what I said above some of those same folks who were asking the "pit" workers to put their protective masks on were told by FDNY guys "My buddy died in this building your not going to tell me what to do!" So good luck with those lung problems.
Well Alnewberry neither party should get away with it. Be that as it may no one is going to get impeached, You, me and the other guy are going to continue to eat a truck load of shit, and the system will remain broken until the shooting starts. When men who'll risk all make hard decisions you get a country. Til then you get what we got now.
As much as they deserve impeachment, it would be so impractical. Assuming they would impeach, it would likely last for the rest of Bush's term and the American people would make them Dems pay for their charade.
Well if impeachment started today, it is likely that they wouldn't get Bush/Cheney out of office until the next president is inaugurated. So, there would be no palpable change since dumb and dumber will still be in office until the very end. With all the problems with the economy and the wars, this political grandstanding would be disastrous for the Democrats.
Bush should be impeached by anyone who raised their right hand and swore to protect the constitution. The problem is they would not turn over any evidence citing national security reasons and by the time that worked its way through the courts it would be too late.
I didn't know that. Thanks for filling me in. I have felt from the beginning that the only two candidates that truly represent their parties are Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich.
@takotheoktopus If you think Paul and Kucinich represent then you need to do more research. I think it would only be safe at this point to wipe the slate clean, jail them for treason, and sort out the details later. Only then can we begin to reclaim what is rightfully ours.
It's not that I need to do more research. It's that I'm limited to only 500 characters to comment with here and decided to go with the premise, if you are going to have these bastards represent you that it might as well be Dennis or Ron. I agree that a clean slate would be preferred. Problem is that representative democracy doesn't work in my opinion. Direct democracy would be better. To be honest, I'd rather get rid of the state all together.

What do you expect with Russ Cargill running the EPA?
Bolgernow 4 years ago
It does not befit us. No, it does not. It befits the Bush Administration, though, because they are monkeys that like this sort of thing.
holdingcompany 4 years ago 2
"This isn't national security!" No, its not Babs, but this isn't a legit gov't anymore now is it? Bush will be gone soon, and then we'll really be wading through muck trying to figure out the depth of the dammage to everything from intelligence to the environment.

You don't think there is going to be a shredding festival yein DC next December when we are all thinking about SantyClaws and President Billary. Do you think the Clintons will be honest and transparent. HA!

Now that is a funny idea. Thanks.

The Dems and the Reps are two sides of the same coin. Nothing is going to change.

Impeach Bush, return the power he has grabbed up back to the legislative branch
greywolf4744 4 years ago 6
The EPA is a disgrace, but what can you expect? Bush has stuffed it with partisan cronies and corporate lobbyists. The Bush Administration treats science as the enemy, contorting it into a propaganda tool to justify predetermined policies of environmental abuse and neglect.
dafttool 4 years ago 13
It is critical to know that 6 weeks after the event I was at a meeting with monitoring staff in EPA who were expressing concern over the health effect of the "powdered" computer components, insulation, and other heavy metal laden material that had burned.
snarkwaupaca 4 years ago 4
Given what I said above some of those same folks who were asking the "pit" workers to put their protective masks on were told by FDNY guys "My buddy died in this building your not going to tell me what to do!" So good luck with those lung problems.

So about the 100,000th reason for Impeachment when is this going to happen?
gallomex13 4 years ago 8
Never. If one party calls the other on this kind of crap, they know they won't be able to get away with it when they're the ones in power.
alnewberry 4 years ago 2
Well they need to fucking get their shit together 'cause if A revolution begins I'm gonna be right in the front line.
gallomex13 4 years ago 5
With me beside you.
alnewberry 4 years ago 5
Well Alnewberry neither party should get away with it. Be that as it may no one is going to get impeached, You, me and the other guy are going to continue to eat a truck load of shit, and the system will remain broken until the shooting starts. When men who'll risk all make hard decisions you get a country. Til then you get what we got now.

Kucinich is the only one running for president that is even talking about impeachment.
takotheoktopus 4 years ago 3
Not true, Kucinich led on impeachment, but Paul has favored impeachment, too.
givebirthathome 4 years ago 4
As much as they deserve impeachment, it would be so impractical. Assuming they would impeach, it would likely last for the rest of Bush's term and the American people would make them Dems pay for their charade.
ErnestAnastasio 4 years ago
How can impeachment be a charade if Bush deserves impeachment?
rspawn 4 years ago 6
Well if impeachment started today, it is likely that they wouldn't get Bush/Cheney out of office until the next president is inaugurated. So, there would be no palpable change since dumb and dumber will still be in office until the very end. With all the problems with the economy and the wars, this political grandstanding would be disastrous for the Democrats.
ErnestAnastasio 4 years ago
This just proves to me that the American political system is flawed.
takotheoktopus 4 years ago 5
flawed is a nice word....I would use the word "DEAD" as in never able to return.

gobblegobblechew 4 years ago 5
I think impeachment should only be a beginning; high treason deserves a bit more than merely a slap on the wrist.
Dealing with this properly can take place after Bush's term, but the sooner it starts the better.
rspawn 4 years ago 5
Bush should be impeached by anyone who raised their right hand and swore to protect the constitution. The problem is they would not turn over any evidence citing national security reasons and by the time that worked its way through the courts it would be too late.
crazycatfguy 4 years ago 6
I didn't know that. Thanks for filling me in. I have felt from the beginning that the only two candidates that truly represent their parties are Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich.
takotheoktopus 4 years ago 11
@takotheoktopus Unfortunately, Kucinich has proven himself to be a huge part of the problem since.
RedTulie1 1 year ago
@RedTulie1
Agreed. The lesser of many evils though.
takotheoktopus 8 months ago
@takotheoktopus If you think Paul and Kucinich represent then you need to do more research. I think it would only be safe at this point to wipe the slate clean, jail them for treason, and sort out the details later. Only then can we begin to reclaim what is rightfully ours.
HiddenOrForbidden 8 months ago
@HiddenOrForbidden
