@TheCodman321 I would go with Fortunate Son by Creedence Clearwater Revival. That is my favorite song for a war movie. My second would be Paint it Black by The Rolling Stones.
All of you saying "Thats war....this is war" and all that other stupid shit.....dont....unless you have seen some of the things that we have seen....dont say that shit. u have no clue what its like to see some of the things we go through. i agree.....it is war....and it sucks....but i have also earned the right to say such. but you bet your ass...i am proud of what i do and there are some things that i ahve done....and im ready for whatever comes my way when i reach the gates.
Well, I am officially part of the Canadian Military. Camp in a couple weeks..Love you mom..dad..If I don;t come back I'll see you all in Heaven cause war is hell.
Getting sent to boot in 4 months now. Swore into the United States Marine Corps January 16 2010. as soon as I turned 17. Seems like just yesterday I signed the papers and spoke the words of allegiance. My day is coming to serve my country, and I'd be damned if anyone tries to take that away from me. When I die I will gladly make my way to hell. And fight my way back to earth again.
A soldier died in the field of battle and came up to the gates of heaven, where he met God. He said to God," Lord, I know I did many things i ain't proud of, and many more that you won't approve of, so if you send me to hell, I won't argue." God stood there for a moment, and then turned to the gatekeeper of heaven. "Let him in", he said. The gatekeeper, confused, asked why. God looked down at the soldier and said," This man just came from hell."
@NoWitnessesNoRegrets God created man, but man got full of himself and disobeyed God and thus separated himself from God and in doing so brought pain, death, and generally unpleasant things upon himself. It says it in the first chapter of the friggin' book.
@XxxSakura101 Im sure that is as far as you got "the first chapter", because if you had kept on reading you would know that the books preach a lot of hate, with a little sprinkle of nice on top to make it look appealing.
But changing the subject completely, you really believe you have ancestors from Italy, Germany, France, England, Scotland, Ireland, Spain, Native America and Japan? How is that even possible. One of your relatives certainly had ho's in different area codes.
@NoWitnessesNoRegrets It's called ancestry, you are aware when two people marry and have a baby- the baby then has both lineages of the parents correct? My great Grandmother was Japanese immigrant, and my great grandfather had English, Scottish, Irish, and German ancestry. When they had my grandfather he married my grandma who had Italian heritage. Who in turn had my Mother who married into a family tree that had history with the Sioux. You really suck at the whole trolling thing don't you?
Don't send in European or American boys to die for a job afghan boys oughta do for themselves. If they want freedom, if they want to be released from the taliban, let them fight for it so they come to respect it and try to maintain freedom.
@Xaphri Perhaps it is American or European problem to begin with, otherwise they wouldn't give a shit about it. There are other war zones, how come you don't see "the European or American boys" involved.
Great choice. Interesting to note that one of the reasons for so many US fatalities was the lack of Armor/tanks. A foolish political decision (didn't want the Somalis to think we were invading their country). A lesson we didn't learn in Afganistan, as it's taken 9 years before deployment of Abrams tanks into insurgent territory. The best soldiers in the world led by idiots.
@Bluxico you are the dumbest asshole in the world if you dont think this is a good song....because i hope you know this was a song that was used to replay the battle of mogadisu when the U.S. Armies Rangers and Delta's went there and fought their asses off through the burning heat surrounded by their military and died trying to save the people there so you need the shut your god damn mouth

@DavidAndRhys oh and btw i lost my older brother in the war due to a bombing. he was 22. his funeral had to be closed casket because of how bad it was.the last time i saw him was on his birthday, and he left a day later. he had a 4 year old son and a 2 year old daughter. probably neither of them will remember him that well, but they miss him to death. i no u wont be giving any sympathy but for gods sake show some respect. its hard to lose someone you love, you dont have to be so mean about it.
@MultiRandom6 I Did State It is Extrememly sad and i do not recall saying that i didn't show respect, i'm sure there are lots of people who are here for the songs not the bloody mouth that goes with it.

my uncle died also his men died all was left as him he didnt want the enemy to kill the innicient so he got a gernade pull the pin then boom he died with his enemys he was rewarded with the badge of honor
Even without having fought a war, when I watch movies such as this, and hear songs such as this, I can feel the sadness and deaths of all those who died or lost someone in a war. Godbless those who fought for their believes and country.
No offense but 2-5 sucked but your spot on with this one. if someone can point out a better score that encompasses the feel of a movie send um my way so i can set um right. on the others 2 should be a bridge to far 3 should be battle for britain 4 last of the mohicans 5 heaven and earth (Japanese). That said its worth noting the greatest war movie score is not a movie but a mini series Wnds of war and war and rememberance. That score is haunting and bone chilling and captures the wars feel!!!!
Does this remind anyone else of Lt Kije's Suite by Prokofiev? About one minute in and at 2:20 or so.... That echo (of a parody) seems inappropriate in something with such an elegiac quality.
imagine how scary it must be to be in a war... /if you think about it, if you play an online shooting game how often do u get killed =O imagine this in real life.. to be honest, i would be really, really scared and just take the rear of the group ='] would be so scared...='[
@pepsiboy108 weak don't survive. in war and games are totally different. you only get one shot in real life, no respawn points. and if your friends die they don't dissapear
leave no man behind, without seeing the movie you can imagine the mateship that this song means, a philiosophy that everyone should have "leave no man behind"
Really nice dude my great great grandpa enlisted in ww1 he didnt die but he saved many people in the trenches, its to bad he died before any of his storys could be told...
i dont believe in ever leaving man behid no matter what the costs even if i have to lay my own life down cauase if i were in there place i would want to get rescued too
you must be very proud of your uncle and lead his way as succeeding what he could have . sorry to hear that he couldn't make it . Just think of him as one of the stars shinning over you. ( i truelly believe in science and i dont believe in fiction) But sometime you need to believe in things that aint proven to make it happen
I heard about that, he was a brave man mate, I'm sorry about his death, but what he did to save that man's life was really really brave. You must be proud :)
@x0xErr0rx0x Your uncle was a truly great man. And maybe, just maybe, he watches down over us from paradise above, standing guard and protecting the path to heaven. It is truly an honor to share the blood of heroes.
@x0xErr0rx0x I know what is feels like to lose someone in war. My father was a C-130 pilot and got shot down. Ive enrolled in the Airforce to become a pilot like him.
@jsyn1230 I think if you look it up there were quite a number lost over vietnam (and maybe korea?), not hundreds but probably dozens. I also once read of an incident of a c-130 crossing the boarder of turkey or iran or something in that region being shot down killing all crew members.
It does happen. Maybe not in very recent conflicts but back in vietnam the lose of a C-130 wouldn't even really trigger any media attention given

I would have voted for " A Bridge too Far". A all star cast and the music is great.

Movie as a movie, not a masterpiece but Hans Zimmer is a genius.

Does this remind anyone else of Lt Kije's Suite by Prokofiev? About one minute in and at 2:20 or so.... That echo (of a parody) seems inappropriate in something with such an elegiac quality.

i like 1812 overture myself ...however its a bit too early to be in movies

imagine how scary it must be to be in a war... /if you think about it, if you play an online shooting game how often do u get killed =O imagine this in real life.. to be honest, i would be really, really scared and just take the rear of the group ='] would be so scared...='[
pepsiboy108 1 year ago
@pepsiboy108 weak don't survive. in war and games are totally different. you only get one shot in real life, no respawn points. and if your friends die they don't dissapear

( i truelly believe in science and i dont believe in fiction) But sometime you need to believe in things that aint proven to make it happen

@TheSilentFlyer i dont remember c-130's getting shot down, when did it happen?
jsyn1230 1 year ago 30
@jsyn1230 I think if you look it up there were quite a number lost over vietnam (and maybe korea?), not hundreds but probably dozens. I also once read of an incident of a c-130 crossing the boarder of turkey or iran or something in that region being shot down killing all crew members.
It does happen. Maybe not in very recent conflicts but back in vietnam the lose of a C-130 wouldn't even really trigger any media attention given
