I miss these guys! They were great. The Odd Couple is still my favorite comedy of all time. These films are a close second and third (not sure which order!). Out to Sea was really funny too.
LOLOL I've never seen these out takes..hahaha..Grumpy Old Men 1 & 2 are a priceless..love the quotes from Burgess Meredith. I remember when he played in the orginal 'Batman' tv series..oh i'm old ..oh my :P:P
Its more than the funny moments, more than just the Burgess Meredith scenes. The 2 Grumpy Old Men movies have a certain charm to them. For example, I love how the scenery of the state of Minnesota is practically a co-star. In Grumpy Old Men we get to see how nice it looks with all that snow and ice. And in Grumpier Old Men we get to see what it looks like underneath all that snow and ice. Just beautiful. Makes one want to move there to live & hopefully have Max and John as neighbors.
I agree! I love the actors and the one-liners and the comedy and everything else about these movies, but you're right - the scenery really helps to make them as well. As a Minnesotan myself I can attest to the natural beauty here and this film really showcases that and shows people that we're more than just "a land of ice and snow." I also love the hometown feel, the fishing, the Minnesotan accents from the locals, etc, all of which really give this movie charm and make it distinctly Minnesotan.
Yep, thats another thing I get from these Grumpy old men movies: that special hometown feel (accents, I cant tell one from the other). It makes the town(s) this movie was filmed in quite inviting and comfortable. :-)

We'll miss these three guys. They made comedy special, and didn't upset their fans.
