Damn you Crowell! It's quarter to 2 in the morning, my fingers are KILLING me but I cannot stop working on your wonderful interpretation of this song. I don't have the words to thank you. (see my earlier comments on Part II) time for sleep.
Very nice. Somehow you make me appreciate JD even more. Great job. Gawd I miss him. Hey is that a Rush shirt you are wearing? I'm a Rush fan too. Thanks for your great work.
Hey Br1an found you by accident and learnt to play rocky mountain High. you have re inspired me to play again and reminded me that I 'm not a bad guitarist when I put my mind to it. excellent job. what I want now is sunshine on my shoulders and leaving on a jet plane as JD played them
Whom are you referring to? I certainly was never in his band, though that would've been "far out!" I'm just a devoted fan that has been and seen allot of John up close in his concerts.
Let me know if it works well for you. I'm just not one of those who can do allot of fret movement, and still sing good enough to be worthwhile to listen to...so I always find "simpler" ways like that.
I really like EJs music, but I discovered him far after I'd already been playing guitar for 10 years. S&G are simply awesome, and I keep several of their tunes in my catalog..."The Boxer" is one I love to perform!
There are a few tabs out there, but many of them didn't sound quite right. So I used them as a starting point, and watched JD's performance videos to get it accurate.
I use lights on the high G-E strings, and medium gauge on the low strings.
Wow, you really know this song well. Sounds great! I'm sure this'll be very helpful as I try to learn this song. Out of curiosity, what kind of guitar is that, and how do you have the preamp set up? high treble and low middle, bass and presence?
Glad you enjoyed it, let me know if you have questions! The guitar is an entry level ovation...not the best, doesn't have the warmth a solid body does. I usually have the treble low, and the bass at 75% again to make up for lack of solid body.
Very helpful. Thanks!

Nicely done. I will use your chording method in standard tuning when singing this. Lots easier and it sounds good. Thanks for posting this!

Your influences are the same as mine except you left out Eric Johnson and Simon & Garfunkel
