I'm a little bit surprised that the race call in this year's Cup was regarded as a rubbish. I had thought that it was okay before seeing your comments on the video. Anyway, now I have learnt a lesson that many things are not as easy as I had expected. Therefore I have to take anything I face to seriously.

Outstanding win, he put the writing on the wall when he smashed the course record at Geelong previous start. Great ride too, Ollie seems to know how to pick his rides in this race, he almost pulled it off on Pop Rock last year.

Thats a lovely video thankyou for posting. Such an emotional victroy, I love Damien Oliver. It was a shame that Media Puzzle was put down from an injury last year at Royal Ascot, but he will always be remembered, just Like Jason Oliver.

If this was for a national audiance then I'm not surpised. Here in the states NBC uses Tom Durkin for calling it's races even though he works for NYRA.

he is a very good caller - not the best of cup calls but it is a very different world calling a Cup than the Doomben 10,000 in Brisbane. Would have been hard. Greg Miles is excellent and Dan Miliky (sp?) is good too. despise brian martin, his voice strains to be heard over crowd and he gets very high pitched when he gets excited at the finish. Wayne Wilson has a terrific calling tone, he creates excitment in the measley brisbane midweek's! he is a lovely man, extremely friendly and approachable

Very true, Wilson has a great calling voice. This was probably one he didnt do such a good job on. Think he just got caught up in the hype of it all.

I actually enjoy him calling the Brissy races and he is very knowledgable too. I backed Schillaci the day he almost won the Straddie, Wilson's call that day was terrific with excitement he generated when they grey hit the front
