ya you jus use a power drill with the bit u use to drill holes and use the smallest one u can find i say one as big as the screw and only drill of the top part and pull off be careful not to go farther than that u could fuck it up if u hit a crucial part
@afiqsince86 They are the best answer that I have found yet. I had a stripped Allen head screw down in an access hole 5cms deep. It worked first time.
Take your time, push down firmly and make sure that your drill is in reverse keep the pressure downwards until the screw is clear,... Out it comes.
Search for: 3 PIECE SCREW REMOVER SET 3 PIECE BY LASER 3693 NEW, they are about $8.00 but worth every penny of it. When you are finished, you still have the tools for future emergencies.
@afiqsince86 I cannot see the exact size of the screw head, but it looks to be about the same size as i have removed from other electrical appliances. If the head is larger than 3mm and it has a stripped Phillips head or Allen head, I would say that it should work very well.
The main thing is that it needs a small indentation in the head of the screw, so that the cutting blades can grip into what is left of the metal.
Can someone help me. I got a stripped PSP screw too! It's one of the black ones on the back where the battery goes. I'm trying to replace my broken analog stick but the firkin screw wont come out, any suggestions would help!
I used a small drill bit. There cheap and work very well. Just use it in a drill until the head of the screw comes off, then you can use tweezers to remove the rest of it.
@radicalgarbage02 I might need to do this to pull out a screw on my Xbox 360 hard drive cage. Whoever was there before basically drilled a freakin' circle into the screw and thus renders any Phillips screwdriver head a piece of crap.
If you have a steady hand with a drill, then yes it's safe. Just make sure you don't have the xbox plugged in when you do it because the friction (and possible sparks) can cause static electricity and short circuit something if its on.
Use crazy glue. Hasn't worked for me on my PS3, but that was one idea. The idea is to glue the screw to the screw driver and that would help unscrewing it. Good Luck.
I did the same thing with the top screw behind the d-pad. I got the screw out by using a tiny drill bit and drilling through the middle of the screw. Now my d-pad is loose and sticks on many games. I need to find a larger screw to go into this hole but haven't found it yet.
theres this product called the grabbit, it drills another hole into the stripped screw, then you flip it over and the extracter pulls it out, its really nice, google it
get some good strong solder that has flux inside it. get a thin Soldering Pen, heat the soldering pen up, quicklly melt the solder on it and make the solder drip on the screw (so it goes ontop and fills in the top bit). quickly get ur screwdriver, hold it ontop of the screw until it cools.
Note:Only do this if you have good cordination with soldering.
Make sure its cooled, then twist away as it was a normal screw, start slowly and if it comes out go fast.
If your analog is sliding on its own, or not moving full speed in any direction, TAKE THE BATTERY OUT! Works for me every time! Stick ends up working perfectly. Try it. ;)
I don't really know, but I wouldn't recommend camy pro. It depends on your flavor or taste in designs. I would go for solid colors, chrome, or whatever. Ebay is a great place to search for faceplates.
when you keep trying to screw the screw out and you keeeeeep failing. eventually you drill a hole in the screw so there's just a cone dent in it so ya can't really do anything else
BTW i have the same exact problem as in this vid, trying to do somthing about it.
Yep I bought it off ebay around last year. I believe I bought for about 20 dollars. To be quite honest, I didn't like the faceplate. The faceplate was dirty which I had to wipe off continuously until everything was slate clean. Also some of the dragon paint started to fade away which ticked me off.
yeah I was gonna say the same thing. Get the thinnest blade they have and just cut a slot for a flat head screw driver to fit in. Pack up the screw you just ejected head over to Radio Shack and get a replacement screw. If they don't have it check out any electronics parts store, a hobby shop or last stop home depot. Don't try and cut that slot by hand. You'll mess it up more. Good Luck
I HAVE THE SAME FUCKING PROBLEM the top battery black screw and the bottom battery black screw are the 1s i have a problem with sry man im tryin 2 find out now how 2 take it off

I have the same problem but solved it by using a - head screwdriver instead of the x headed one. Hope it helps. Cheers
Pr0upl0ads 2 years ago
Step 1:
Get a drill and find a drill bit with the same or slightly smaller diameter as the screw.
Step 2: Carefully drill into the stripped screw head until there's nothing left but a screw post.
Step 3: Unscrew the post with a set of pliers (counter-clockwise)
Step4: :)

Use a small drill bit and drill the top of the screw off. Then use pliers and remove it from the faceplate.

i stripped my screw on the wifi turn on side and my analog moves by itself since the screww got stripped

hey thats a camy psp faceplate right?? is that a good faceplate to buy because some people say that the paint wears off

I would not recommend buying the camy psp faceplate. The paint scratches off easily.
