obviously ne-yo wrote this song because, either he or someone he knew was in a relationship with someone who they loved but their partner didn't love them in return so leaving was easier than they thought. appearently the person didn't care enough to love them back so it was easy to not care and leave. the person waited until they left to realize that what they had was a special relationship with a good person
