Oh, wait a minute it is the same engine. Pontiac had to search for an engine that would put out the kind of power for 1989 Official Indy Pace Car. So they didn't turn to Chevy, they turned to Buick and got its beloved Turbo 3.8l. To this day, the 1989 TA is fastest TA Ever built & the GNX was faster than the Turbo TA built in 87.
TTA same car just different heads and actually the gnx and TTA were just as fast as each other it depened on who launches first
