Dogs tangling with cougars is common event up here in Canada, normally ending badly for the dog, just yesterday my dog tangled with a cougar and came out of it with 5 puncture wounds in his head. As far as we can tell the cougar came off no better. If that cat shows its face around her again, It's going to get shot.

funny story, I have my own. I was walking my mother in laws dog, which was a street dog we took in. The dog is a collee, the same breed as lassie. Well one day i was walking her and a pit bull charged after me and stopped 15 metere from me. My dog instead of fighting ran back home. The pit bull charged after my dog but when she escaped the pit bull turned and went after me. I managed to get away and when I came home I saw her at the side of the house. Next time I carry a gun.

funny story, I have my own. I was walking my mother in laws dog, which was a street dog we took in. The dog is a collee, the same breed as lassie. Well one day i was walking her and a pit bull charged after me and stopped 15 metere from me. My dog instead of fighting ran back home. The pit bull charged after my dog but when she escaped the pit bull turned and went after me. I managed to get away and when I came home I saw her at the side of the house. Next time I carry a gun.

I have an English Mastiff. It doesn't have to save me. If some1 or something were to come up to our house we would let her in and the person/thing would run away screaming. Also, English Mastiffs drool a lot, so it always looks like she wants to eat you. Currently she is 190 lbs and is still growing. Ironically, her name is Buttercup.

I used to have a black lab that thought he was saving me once.. I was throwing a ball for him in the front yard when a meter reader walked up behind me, and my dog flipped!! He bit the fudger in the anus so hard.. If I wouldn't have grabbed him I think that meter man would've been fudged! I felt bad, but don't quietly walk up behind someone like that, especially when his loyal best friend is watchin his back.

My cat has saved me many times... saved me from getting a good nights sleep when she is in heat, saved me from having nice curtains with out claw marks, saved me from being able to wear hair free black dress pants, and saved me from ever wanting to get a cat again... she did wipe out an entire mouse family that was living in the garage, so I guess that's a good thing!

My black lab would try, and he's nice to people, but he's mean as hell to other animals (cougars included) but he's getting a bit old. He might get his anus bit once or twice, but I love that dog, and I'd help him out- jab that cougar in it's eye.
