His ability to display the love for both his gf and the desire for limelight and the conflicts of his desperation for both was an Academy Award performance. Julia is good. Eric is 10 x's the actor she is. That is the plain truth.

one of the great mysteries of hollywood over the last decade was, what the hell happened to Eric Roberts? A critics favourite in the early to mid 80s ( Runaway Train, Star 80, Pope of Greenwich Village, Raggedy Man), Roberts , along with his buddy Mickey Rourke the new breed, taking over the mantle from De Niro, Pacino etc..Then, 20 years of straight to video b-movies..what happened?.Rourke says it was hollywood "politics" that reduced Roberts to the "bench" so to speak.Welcome back Eric!
