Blaze at the time had some troubles with allergic reactions to pollen and such and wasn't well on all the tours. Plus he can sing live, if any of you care to listen to his 2 live solo albums and studio albums he has made you will see. Blaze rules. Every Maiden rules. Virtual XI was actually the 1st Maiden album I bought it got me into Maiden, so don't knock Blaze era Maiden, because every era of Maiden rules. Maiden is not the singer, Maiden is Steve Harris. Paul, Bruce and Blaze were/are great.

@idletimerocks Absolutely correct. I prefer Bruce, but the fact is that Bruce needed some "alone time" and Maiden carried on with the best that they could find. Hell, it's Bruce Dickinson! You try singing his lines... I have nothing but the utmost respect for Blayze, and I truly appreciate his efforts. Of course, I'm happier now that Bruce and Adrian are back in the band. Blayze is carrying on also, and his solo efforts are better because of all he learned with Maiden. Everyone wins!

@Devaneando Actually, that was a decision from the band (Harris). He wanted a different voice. Of course, that would work if Blaze was to sing only his songs, but Maiden couldn't do that at the time. So the proper substitute should be someone who could carry the high pitched classics. By the way, I was at this concert.

why the fuck should i? i din't say i could do better.. but i know when something is off-key and not at all harmonic. 13 years of studying music should at least have given me that ability. and btw, when a singer gets paid to sing, he should at least sing good? don't you think? there's a fucking reason why the 90's was a down period for IM, that reason is blaze!

the trooper is one of the higher vocal scale songs that blaze sung, he wasnt chosen to be exactly like dickinson, and yes struggled through hallowed and the trooper during live sets. saying he's a bad singer is stupid though, you should check out other videos from this show, like 2 minutes to midnight

well, i've checked out 2 minutes to midnight, and my opinion i still the same.. blaze just doesn't fit with the IM sound and it's songs.. Something Di'anno and Dickinson built. that's why blaze is so much critizism. Cus if you get a new singer for a band like IM, you have to be an amazing singer.. to try to follow Paul and Bruce.. cus they are simply just bette than Blaze..
