Not Really. The Intro is a nice, smooth bluesy tone, going into a deep purple type of song if you ask me. thats just my opinion though. Now that i look at it from another angle, that phaser/tremolo effect Joe has going makes it a little more of a dreamy sound.

And one more thing....Joe did not come after Eddie...Joe had been teaching guitar for many years before Steve Vai, who he taught among many, many others, spoke highly of him in interviews. Joe's inspiration comes from Jazz guitar greats such as Django Reinhardt, Wes Montgomery and others.

Yeah obviously Satch was around but he didn't become big until after eddie, thats for sure. I wasn't ignoring other guitarists. But again look at all Eddie's done to the world of guitar.

Eddie said he invented potting Pups, just like he said he used to mod his Marshalls. He lied about both. The guy's a frickin genius and one of my fav guitarists of all time. But his ego is ginormous and he tends to elaborate on some of his "discoveries". The potted HB was around before Eddie could even talk.

I don't see beck or page inventing pickups or anything in terms of guitar parts like Eddie, and making a serious impact on the world of the guitar in terms of the way their made. As for Eddie being retired maybe you should look up his name and you'll be quite surprised to find that the clan of Van Halen's are plannig to do an album with roth as well as a tour. So perhaps you should be the one doing more investigating.

Eddie does have a few things to his credit sure....but so do many others like Jimmy Page, Steve Howe, Alex Lifeson, Al Dimeola, Jeff Beck, David Gilmour...the list goes on and on. As well as helping to create/ improve on the Floyd rose, which might not of even been invented without Eddie. He revolutionized tapping and really brought it to the forefront in the guitar world, as well as bar dives and Pinch Harmonics.

Dont get me wrong satch is on of the best ever but look at all the things in the guitar world Eddie has changed and done. Without Eddie there would be no Electric guitar as we know it.

auto wah isnt lame, it has its purposes and places and is an actual pedal made for a reason. If he wanted a normal wah, he'd use one. An auto wah isn't lame it's a practical pedal that can be very beneficial for playing hard and fast, smart one.
