  • Reg really made a couple of terrific Hercules movies, and he and Steve Reeves were genuine and unsurpassed inspirations for many bodybuilders. It's great that both are still remembered with great fondness.

Schwarzenegger was a two-faced pig as far back as PUMPING IRON, and it's great to see him now best remembered for his fascist family scandal during his years as a California politician. Arnold is the epitome of white trash.

  • There is no school like the old school real hardcore bodybuilding at it's best

  • Reg was no ''restless'' juicer, but i can almost assure you he was not complete natural. For example; Steve Reeves had a FFML of 25,9 and this was the top of the natural bodybuilding. Many would never ever reach that index. Reg was heavier, had like 4 cm bigger arms and there were nearly no supplements that time. It doesn't matter anyway, Reg was perfect, better than nowadays bb's! RIP bud!

  • Glad the caption comes up at 2:08 informing us the dude is Arnold Schwarzenegger, I'd never have known otherwise. Reg Park had a great physique, without looking like something alien. Much respect to him.

  • @steveninthematrix

"in 51 there was no juice available"

There was no oral-juice available, but there were plenty of injectables in the 40s and 50s.

  • A lot of people are arguing about steroids. But remember - even though dbol didn't arrive till 1960s, injectables were available in the 40s and 50s and regularly prescribed.

So while it is true that it was hard for people to get a hold of steroids in the 40s and 50s, it was not impossible.

  • "Arnold still was BARELY able to beat him".

    gimme a break bro!

  • wtf, so what if they use steroids, reg park didn't use but , he was strong, yea.. but not as big as Today's personal trainer, he's a thin weak lol

  • @limongiable If were talking as big as guys like Ronnie Coleman, Jay Cutler, Jonnie Jackson etc..who the fuck would want to? with their distended bellies etc..they look like what they are...steroid inflated clowns. The physiques of the 50's and 60's..classic...v taper leading to a wasp like waist and a good set of wheels.....knocks spots off of the bloated bellies with six packs going around today.

  • There are classic pictures of him on google doing bench presses with 135lb barbells in each hand! Another doing 185lb dumbell bench presses!! Incredible power and cant forget the 500lb+ bench press! He was mass with class, something none of these bozos of today will ever duplicate! His way of life was legendary and IMO the best way. Legend RIP

  • Awesome. I had no idea this even existed

  • My take on the difference between todays bodbuilders and yesterdays is that todays ones only ever seem to be about their own selves. I hardly ever read about todays pros being inspirational for the greater good. Only about how they are going to win this or beat that. how big they are going to be come competition. The bodybuilders from yesteryear went way beyond that. They became role models to aspire to.

  • its cool to see frank zane giving props to Reg cause I believe Frank was an ectomorph(hard gainer)

  • @playstationM Frank Zane admitted himself to finding it harder to attain mass and so focussed on sheer symetry and balance...and he was great at it too...not that he was small of course..not by a long shot..another man who, like Reg Park and Arnie had the classic bodybuilder physique. They just looked a tonne better than todays "mass obsessed" clowns.

  • If you guys do your research, you will discover that steroids have been around since the 40's when they use to administer them to people suffering from malnutrition, mainly POW's. By the 50's athletes were using them to increase their strength. This is all in research books and academic journals. Reg Park Competed for over 30 years and stood next to Arnold and match him size for size. Much bigger than his early days. Steroids are not new, but over fifty years old.

  • @Hercquelee Which is why I always wonder, how do we know Reg didn't use?

  • @StanBennet because of the time he was professional bodybuilder

in the 40s and 50s steroids didnt exist for privat market (No one knew that they exist)

Maybe reg has used them in the sixties

But ist possible that reg has used them in the sixties

  • takes boys under his belt lol

  • reg park to roids and steve reeves

  • RIP REG PARK!!!!!!!

  • HITpadawan: I totally agree with you...I am a Swedish "naturell" BB and I know that the food is 60-70% of my total success...I trust my system and that I have enough Testo to build muscles...Arm around 20"....

  • These Guys did anabolics too. If you compare their photos when they first started training to later in their life when they actually competed against Arnold or Sergio, you can the anabolic look.

  • at. 53 it was a miracle that poof got out of the house with that funny hat and shirt on.. That was a doggone miracle.

  • training method of Reg Park. What it was?

  • Park and Zane where the best imo

  • cant post

  • are you stupid he took steroids also do some research online steroids have been around since the late 40s

  • are you stupid he took steroids also do some research online and look for your self steroids have been around since the late 40s in uk

  • Maybe it's me but I have been in the gym scene for quite a number of years. I was a "natural" competitive BB (now I'm 54 and just train to train). I do not "respect" those that HAVE to use steroids. For crying out loud use what GOD gave you...your natural foundation and work with it to your best ability naturally. If you can't then you are a wimp...end of story.

  • @seenababe good if you do not use, but you probably drink boo's or smoke weed and probably look like crap. So what if you train clean , good for you!

  • That photo and commentary @ 1:34 is a bit misleading. That was NOT Park's '58 victory. That specific photo shows Park competing against Sergio Oliva, and Bill Pearl in 1971. Pearl won the 1971 NABBA Pro Mr. Universe title. Park took 3rd.

  • WHO THE FUCK THOUGHT TO CALL AAS FUCKIN VITAMIN S? you guys are so fucking retarded...

  • reg park is the natural and king of natural bb for all time... he was not juiced..hence he is a legend..

  • Trailer looks great! Can't wait to see it

  • @steveninthematrix maybe you are right, 20 sets for a beginner can be bad, but for advanced training this is quite ok. i do very intense workouts, averaging about 20 sets per part, except arms which i do 12. my last chest workout i did 24 sets, and 29 sets on my legs. yea it is hard, but i can do it because i have the drive to, i understand most people dont, but i do. keep in mind, at the moment i train each muscle once a week directly. and im growing. also, i am a pure mesomorph. this helps me

  • @steveninthematrix lol reg park was natural u einstein.. he was arnolds first ever trainer.. reg park was KNOWN to have CRAZY genetics.. his 5x5 stands the test of time..and stop wimping about 3x deadlift..IVE done it.. im a teenger.yes i hade sore back after but it put on shit loada mass.. hence its called 5x5 program..reg didnt train itl failure every wrkout.. read mate

  • 20 sets isnt hard, i do 20 sets for everything but arms. does that mean im on juice? and arnold specifically said he only used steroids to maintain size when he was under strict diet. learn your shit before you speak again. champions do what ever it takes, whether it is 20 sets or even more. maybe you just dont have the drive like more dedicated people do.

  • i've been training for 8 years I do his famous 5x5 which requires deadlifts 3 times a week. I'm able to do it and I don't even know what steroids look like. I eat well, I don't drink, and I sleep well. So what your saying is insulting to a late legend like Reg Park and even myself. He also trained 3 times a week so most of the week he was resting and eating which that is when you do most of your growing. I hate when you work hard and people say your on roids.

  • one of the greatest tragedies of modern sport that the strength champion who bench pressed 500 lbs. back in the 1950's before anyone was that strong could die a painful death of melanoma

  • Awesome

  • lol why didnt i heard of him before,so funny that arnolds body is a copy of Reg Park

  • arnold only used steroids to maintain his size when he was cutting before competition, he didnt use them to build muscle. the massive amount of muscle he had was due to very high intensity training, motivation, and genetics.

  • Reg park truly was the greatest of all time. It just cracks me up that guys like Kai Green struggle with 495 despite the fact that they're on so many drugs and supplements.

Reg park was on the old fashioned beef and potatoes diet and he was the first person to bench 500.

  • Many say Arnold is the greatest of all time...but Park didnt need drugs to rise to the top, and even with all the steroids in his system Arnold still was BARELY able to beat him.

Screw the Cutlers, Colemans and Ruhls of the bodybuilding world, guys like Park are the ones who we need to look up to.

  • you´re right man! at this time many bodybuilders consumes steroids to get strenght and muscle. But legends like Reg Park, Steve Reeves, John Grimek had a natural body. So I think this is the real strenght...long live Reg!!!

  • @shiki987 man, their natty test was probably duble what the averae is now for a male. you gotta keep in mind they wernt being boboarded with xenoestrogins and catabolic chemicles.

  • I like you :)

  • @HITpadawan A-FUCKING-MEN.....

GO TELL THE WORLD, LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD !

  • @HITpadawan Of course Reg park was on steroids. Steroids were used for bodybuilding since the 1940's. Park competed from the 50's till the 70's, and most definately he was on steroids too.

  • @HITpadawan A-FUCKING-MEN!!

  • @HITpadawan

Reg used same drugs Arnold did... please search about it.

  • @HITpadawan apparently reg park was on juice.Sergio Olivia said reg was on roids. mainly dbol and some dianabol.

  • @HITpadawan I disagree, Arnold took body building the this whole new world. Reg Park is the second greatest body builder in my eyes yet he's really the undisputed greatest. He made it what it is.

  • 3:22 very good lookin man right der no gay shit he can rock it nicely

  • ah yes the good ole days of bodybuilding...........Arnold is an apprentice of Reg park.......ole school b'builders rock!!!

  • no steroids at that time

  • Fantastic, can't wait to get a copy
