adorable! i used to have a quaker too, he was (and will forever be) my once in a lifetime pet, and he unfortunately feather picked too.. and we were never able to figure out why.

my quaker only likes guys.. not women... he was sitting on my shoulder while i was watching this.. and he started to sing along with when you and your bird were singing that queen song...

This bird needs more toys - Quakers love to carry small toys to a platform or shelf higher up in the cage - and then back down - that could be one reason she is plucking. Such a busy little bird is bored to death - my Quaker has at least 20 toys up and down and hanging - they are awesome smaller birds. They all have to have plenty of toys to keep them from plucking - they are way to intelligent to be caged all day with nothing to do.

I've tried that many times, and in many forms. She has about 30 toys, and she hates all of them. Also, I bought her this way; Nobody would pay $500 for a bird with mental problems.

Sorry - sometimes people just don't know - I have 16 parrots - all sizes - one a Quaker up to Cockatoo and Macaw - African Greys & Amazons - just trying to be helpful! The bird is amazing.

No need to apologize! I have only three, and Jade's the only one who doesn't like her toys. She is very amazing, considering she has survived her mutilation problems twice. She hasn't touched herself once since!

Oh, my responce got erased! Incase others ask this question, The life expectancy for a Quaker is about 20 to 30. But with Jade's mental with physical problems, about 15 to 25, at best. And her age now is two years.

great video! 5 stars :) I like the dick cheney noise cuz thats almost exactly what my quaker does except it is more like ra ra ra RA RA :D I just brought home my first bird and first quaker parrot (who is yet to be named) on saturday.
