if you had to take one do-it-all-well SUV, with occasional off-roading but facing the harsh winters of Quebec, which would you choose from the Pathfinder LE, Durango R/T or Jeep Grand Cherokee? Thanks!
I like it! I always read or hear ppl say the transmissions go out?! I've owned 3 dodges in my life time a 95 Dakota 01 Dakota 04 ram which I still have with 120k on it and never had any transmission or rear end problems what so ever?! I drive them like a truck should be drove peddle to the metal and roll out! My hemi still will jump off the line and rolling! I want to see proof of this problem and not hear that your friends brothers wife's girlfriends broke down?!
dodge, chrysler & jeep are looking better. i personally think they have become more attractive looking over japanese car makers. this new durango design is beautiful. i want a durango heat in bright silver.
Chrysler missed the mark on this one. Awful design (looks like a hearse) , seven seater's very dangerous in rear collisions, only 5 speeds, V-6 underpowered, V-8 horrendous on gas,and is not a "Top safety Pick" for 2011.
$40k for a gas hog when oil prices are soaring and the economy is in a recession/depression......good job dodge, guess they'll asking for another bailout soon.
@alohawg It gets 23mpg, not bad for an SUV that sits 7. and they still have the avenger and caliber that get 31-32mpg, even the V6 charger and challenger that weigh 4,000lbs get 27mpg. its a vast improvement for dodge. look at earlier line-ups and specs.
@that70sshow89 thats true but the specs for the 05-10 was off alittle i have the 05 magnum rt rated 18city 24/25 highway but real world i get 21 city and 28/29 higway if you drive civil this from an 8 cylinder but as soon as you put you foot down it reminds you it is with 16 city and 20 higway all in all i love dodge
I just drove one of these that was a new V6 rental. Very genuinely impressed with everything. Fit and finish, interior, exterior, seats, steering wheel, looks, quality stuff through and through. Dodge is going in the right direction in a big way. I'm glad Fiat didn't nuder mopar like Mercedes did, but everything 2011 is what they should of been building all along.
As a devout Durango fan (the true, 1st gen Durango, not the minivan on steroids one) and as massive prankster, that head rest flip down button will be priceless! I bet though with all the tech they have little sensors under the seats that won't let them flip down if someone is sitting in the rear seats
this looks like a vast improvement overall, what i find quite funny tho is that i've read some comments about people that said it needs to improve in quality, now that it clearly did a huge leap i read some saying, that they`d rather prefer the "old" ones over the new version , i guess that`w when you say "they don't like their food neither warm nor cold" LOL anyways, the new durango looks stunning and promising to me.
@luis3826 Anyone who hate on the Durangos are just jealous (unless if you're hating on the oversized minivans one, then I'll join in) but the 1st gens and these are some bad ass mofos
sales of this and the Dakota fell off a cliff in 2005 and have been steadily declining since the 2005 design was implemented ..you'd think Dodge would get it just by looking at the numbers - 2011 Durango = styling design failure - 2011 Dakota = styling design garbage - 2011 Charger = styling design disaster
I'm still quite proud of my 2001 Dakota, it's mean-
but the all of the above.. definitely not eye candy :/
ive never really cared for Chrysler's styling but since they've merged with fiat...they really stepped up, and i must say that durango looks VERY nice! they are putting up some powerful and very nice looking vehicles. they are really pushing it, you can tell. nice job!
@ThrillTony I actually took it out and drove it for about two hours at the intro and I was very surprised by two facts. 1) It's not all that fast and 2) It rides and handles like a German performance sedan.
@romanmicagearguy It is an R/T, but it has the same size HEMI as the Jeep you tested in this video. All R/Ts have the 5.7 HEMI, only the SRT8s have the 6.4 HEMI and the (now defunct) 6.1 HEMI.
1:10 off Grand Cherokee platform? I think he meant Mercedes-Benz. Chrysler can't develop a great platform. I really wish Mercedes-Benz didn't have a partnership with Chrysler.
I'm so glad they did it b/c the first one was trash from the way it looked outside and in. Good review. With all the American car makers stepping their game up is great for the buys, the more options we have the better.
so let me get this straight, the price is $40,000 yet I have already had my tax dollars go towards this company and I still pay full price? fuck that...
Wow just kill your passengers with those kamakazi headrests lol
