  • I just saw this today and it was AWESOME!

  • who gave you guys right to defy gravity???

  • oh my...my arms hurt just watching them

  • at the end i almost clapped but then i realized its a video and im the only one watching it haha:PP

  • 12 poeple are just jealous

  • i love the act, but i dont like the costumes...

    but it's still amazing!!

  • I've just seem Totem in Toronto, it was absolutely fantastic.

  • the guy in the birdcage! 2:40 lol BUT THIS WHOLE THING IS AMAZING. I NEED TO SEE THIS LIVE!

  • Aerial rope is fine, you just need to do the drops a few times to get used to it. And Spanish Web really only bruises the parts you use to hold on.

  • Anyone know what the name of the song is or the name of this Cirque Du Soleil show so maybe I could find it that way?

  • Its so fantastic!

  • you know what I think of when I see this other than amazing... The rope burns and their PE grades... These people would climb up that rope so quick the teacher wouldn't know what hit them

  • fucking incredible <3

  • I curious why theres a man in a bird cage. 2:40 just wondering, . . . . . . Why.?

  • @Luckyyable There are a bunch of characters that are running around during the various acts. The guy in the bridcage it The Target. The woman who is holding the cage over him is the mother of Zoe. She is a little girl who is getting shown all these acts by the Target and John who is the guy riding the tricycle at the beginning. The birdcage has a few appearances throughout the show. We saw this earlier this year and yeah we though it was kind of random...but it does have meaning in the end.

  • @pursehappygal Ooh. cool. i haven't seen one yet, but i' going too.! but honestly I knew why he was there. I just thought it was real random to have a guy in a bird cage. But i see what your saying. (:

  • WFT? JAKJKAJKAAJKAJKA BASURATAAAAAAAAAA ESO ES UNA MIERDA!

  • all thoses guys are ecuadorians there father three soon and sister Family Nava They do really nice show cogratulations guys I have to go to radio City Music Hall to see this show again

  • 2:42...WTF?

  • what song is this?? i can't find it on the soundtrack

  • @tylerduboys

Cirque never officially released this song and we don't know its real name, so us fans just call it "Spanish Webs", same as the act. However, they did release Misère and Enfants d'Acier on the extended soundtrack. The music in Quidam has changed so much over the years that some songs that used to be in the show have been taken out, new ones have been added, and others were remixed or completely rewritten.

  • what is the name of the song??

  • Ouch :( Corde Lisse. Whenever we perform at circus we laugh at the (unlucky) person who gets the cord lisse (: I'd hate to have it! Got it once..all I could feel was pain!!

  • they make it look so easy i tried to do this at gymnastics and i failed miserably and painfully

  • 6:11

and that is where i would explode

  • 4:11

and that is where I would start spewing

  • did you notice at 6:12 the middle one in blue is a guy. Scared the heck out a me.

  • @fwinvisible pretty positive it's a woman....just very muscular.... this act is typically done with three women and two men....the one in the middle is the one who did the back planche with the guy on the hammock/loop...very intensely difficult trick.... :)

  • @cirquechic204

I'm not sure if we're talking about the same person. The back planche one stands to the right at 6:12 - 6:14.

  • What's the song called?

  • Holy upper body strength.

  • That's what i call reaching for the stars.

    11 people got ropeburn :P

  • I do spanish web for my high school's musical, The King and I. It is the funnest thing in the world haha. Scary at first. For my play, I have to do what they are doing at 5:40 above the crowd. Its during the first scene of the play and I think It's a ticket seller haha.

  • these guys are amazing if youve never seen them live youll love it

  • whats this called ?????

  • it would suck SO MUCH if one of them messed up...

  • this takes absolutely so much trust and strength! it's unbelievable o-o

  • so much stenght and pain! amazing

  • beautiful!

  • My aunt worked in this show as the spanish web girl. It is spanish web, but Cirque du Soleil wanted to show you other tricks than just the regular stuff with the setter.

  • the name of the song is...?

  • sorry the name of this soong is...?

  • Omg I do silks, sling and some spanish web and this is amazing. In my auditions I usually put in a swan dive (2:03) but HOLY SHIT they are so high up! And their unitards look uber thin instead of all the thick leggings I wear. O.o

  • I wish I could've had these skills when we had to do the rope test in P.E. haha, le Cirque du Soleil is the best!

  • I need to learn spanish web, silks and corde lisse. I feel like these are the 3 that would really develop the strength and endurance for aerials...so far just working on static trapeze and lyra.

People who are in my classes who do silks have so much more upper body strength!

  • OMG HIS NECK!!!!!! SIMPLY... JUST F*KNG AMaZING...KILLER!!!!

  • the rope that they are climbing on has a very thin cloth attached to it. This is actually spanish web, but they wanted to show you other tricks on it than just the basic tricks with the setter.

  • 8 people missed the like button

  • WONDERFUL

  • Can someone tell me the name of this song?

  • @MrMrMrprofessor

According to the Cirque Tribune website, this song is simply known as "Spanish Webs" and I don't think it is commercially available.

  • @alladinmoua Aw man. Well, thank you!

  • Talk about workin' for a livin'!!! Very rigorous!!!! Very enjoyable!!!!

  • I am so stoked to be a part of this in a few years! I'm learning aerial silks now, and I'm going to start learning cord lisse (spanish web).

  • omg I do aerial silk ballet and I know how much it hurts to do those drops and stuff but WOW, with those ropes it must hurt like 100 times more O.O

God, I love Cirque du Soleil, when you think you've seen it all, they show up and surprise you with new and more amazing/beautiful stunts...

  • @ToKiOdAyRoMaNcE ya i do a bit of spanish web and let me tell you it hurts! especially if your instructor wont let you wear pants and you get rope burns all over ur legs like meh :P

  • @ToKiOdAyRoMaNcE it totally does hurt more, but you have more friction against it so some things are easier to do. You still end up with more burns though. :-)

  • @alvawhite The rope is covered with a thin cloth to reduce friction and burns, but still when my aunt was doing this, she had blisters everywhere

  • @ToKiOdAyRoMaNcE the ropes feel like a material and it dosent hurt that bad cause i do bothaerial silk and spansh web i find that some drops dont hurt as bad on spanish web than aerial silk

  • Does anyone know who the woman in the foreground at 0:52 is? She's also the one with the 'duet' with the guy where she hangs by his neck.

  • I remember some comic on Comedy Central Presents talking about how when he saw Cirque in Vegas he was struck by how femme many of the guys in the show were (and the fact many of their costumes are skin-tight and very clearly show the outline of their dicks), and how the audience was chock-full of people from the midwest oo-ing and aw-ing. Made me snicker..

  • i was at that show it was sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo good

  • I have the upper body strength of a marshmallow =(

  • I swear, Cirque Du Soleil re-invented performing arts.

  • damn, nowadays if you wanna run away and join the circus apparently you gotta be in shape, coordinated and brave cause wow these guys kick ass. This is nothing like the cheesy ass circuses that came to town for the kids, this is circus for adults

  • cirque du soleil is so friggin awesome!

  • 4:02 That would scare the living crap out of me. I guess that "go and join the circus" isn't an insult anymore, eh? I'd love to have some of this talent.

  • pronto ire a bs as a ver es te show que lindo

  • 2 41 .....WTF LOL dude in cage

  • I loved working and partying with these people!!! This show is recorded in Amsterdam back in 1999. Met a lot of nice people and some are still missed by me :-(

  • this is one of the most interesting acts of this particular show , it's so cool D: it's not an everyday thing ya know :3 !

  • genial

  • Whats up with the headgear?

    But srsly, love it!

  • I really wanna see this show! I'm seeing Alegría sunday and can't wait! Is is awesome?

  • of course they're beautiful, they're brazilians ^^

  • 4.57 to 5.06 is big mamma its so fun

  • 2:53 has any one noticed how strange and beautiful looking all these people are?

  • @cheesiemonkey2 Yes, that's called a costume. Cirque is known for making some of the most incredible costumes in the industry.

  • @ritsfata I'd love to meet the makeup-ist too...

  • @ritsfata --lol i know :P what i meant was there faces are really calm and serene looking, but yeah the costumes are amazing! i'd want to pursue that kind of work if i could. :)

  • @cheesiemonkey2

It's like they're from a whole nother race.

I often thought the same thing about high fashion models. XD

  • this is amazing!!! god i love Cirque!:D

  • spanish web and hoop are my two favorites

  • WOAH, HUMAN MONKEYS!

  • they should try out for ninja warrior

  • i feel bad for their ankles... it has to kill... i remember thts what hurt most... lol but u get used to da pain

  • you do but it takes a while to get use to it

  • Its a long time ago that i've been there.

  • :20

  • What is the name of the song?

    It isn't on the album..

  • doesn't have a name, hasn't been released.

  • just got back from seeing them at hallam arena and i thought the whole show was spectacular - but this was mind boggling to me!

  • didnt think it was still called hallam arena, id like to be able to do that:)

  • El número sensacional, así como la música, genial.

  • i'm so going to just work out now...these guys and gals are soooooo athletic...i wish i could run away and join the circus, but it looks like you actually need talent now :'(

  • I know what you mean about needing talent. I perform the act Handbalancing on Canes much like Olga Pikhienko.

  • Technically (if anyone is interested) only the parts where they use the loops, beginning at 3:50 and at 5:35, are spanish web. The rest is corde lisse. Of course, that doesn't for a moment how beautiful, graceful, or utterly awe-inspiring the whole thing is.

  • it's amazing how gracefull and strong this artist are.

  • Magia!!!!!!!!!!! Uno de mis números favoritos!!!

  • Whats the song called with the guitar.

  • One of these ladies is the one that played the mother in the opening scene... Cant tell which one though. =\

  • At [5:38 ] listen closly and u will here a whistle and again at [5:46 ]!!!

    nice video five ***** bravoo

  • yeah. i wonder who's calling those tricks? on the ground or in the air?

  • Normally it is one of the artists also doing the act, theres a "lead person" or whatever for every act. And they yell up or something short like that to go onto the next cue or trick. So example! At the end they have the first pose, lead whoever will yell up and then they move to the next etc etc. Its fun during the live show to hear howmany times up is yelled in a short amount of time.

  • Yep,I heard it LOL!But it is a signal from the coach or captain to tell the artist that it is time to do a certain trick,or switch things.

  • super ojala y traigan espectaculos como estos a colombia este año

  • felis año nuevo atodo el elenco del arte de su admirador TACHUELITA SHOW

  • these people might just NEVER fall off buildings. they literally defy gravity!

  • cirque.. they make it look so easy. amazing!

  • LMAO AT 2:41 XDD

  • im not religious per se~ but watching this vid-- all i could say was "holy mary mother of god"

  • I love watching Cirque du Soleil! So awe inspiring... Then they flash to a stagehand and it's like "Why is there a man trapped in a bird cage?"

  • this song isn't on the CD, is it? :(

but if it is, what is it called?

  • web is so much fun!

  • i wathed this show before 1 week at brussels, and part that the couple acting, was so much more longer, complex and sensual.. so f..ing sensual....J ADORE CIRQUE DU SOLEIL!!!! BRAVOO!!!

  • What great upper body strength to pull up a rope like that.

Saw this show in Barcelona last week and was definitely highlight of my holiday.

i am now a cirque du soliel fan.

  • en su presentación en México, en la Gran Carpa Santa Fé, tuvieron mucho éxito, estuvo genial, es mucho mejor ver el espectáculo en vivo...

  • me gusta mucho los videos de cirque du soleil son verdaderos artistas

  • no, this is Spanish web...

  • It is also known as Corde Lisse, you're both right.

  • the offical dvd listed this act as spanish web :-)

  • ... are you joking?

  • haha, this is great! i wish i was that good at spanish web! i fell once (last week i lost my foot hold and slid all the way down *ouches*...) i got rope burn on my fingers. but i don't think ill ever be as good as that!

  • lol! i know right? i took lessons for about a year and i got to the point where i was decent at it but i cant even i magine how often they must practice! itsa shame i had to stop because it is apparently not good for your bones! (i know, big shock). i had an unfortunate accident doing the trick at 5:01 which involved my ankle never quite lining up straight again. still, one of the most fun years

  • yes that is a very difficult and dangerous trick.

one of my circus instructors broke his leg in 4 places attempting that

  • would they not get rope burn OUCH i h8 ropeburn

  • this is like Aerial Silk...isnt it?

  • so breathtaking..

  • god that's scary! if thay fall or lose there grip thare dead! thes people are wonderful!

  • omg there skip drops r amazing they hurt so so much

  • i do corde lisse and this is amazing i love soleil

  • Is that final sudden drop performed by Jonathan Morin? he is a handsome guy.

    he was only 21 then.(born 1977)

I can't find many information about him on the internet.

    Spanish webs is amazing!

    I love Quidam!

  • It's either Jonathan or Jason Papp, I can't honestly tell from that distance. I think you're right though.

  • Could someone tell me if Alexandre (Sasha) Fedortchev is in the particular video, because he did the Spanish Web from 95 to 99. I met him this evening. I LOVE this act. Quidam is great!

  • He is not

  • Comment removed

  • This song is not on CD?

    How can I get it?

  • Download the video and convert it to an mp3 with DVDVideoSoft.

I'm not an advertiser, but this is how I get my rare songs.

  • how do you download the video :)

and like i dunn no if this is what you mean but like there are songs on here that i cant find anywhere elsee.. and i want them :P

    can i do that?

  • just copy and paste the link into the program i listed below.

  • thankss :)

  • Is this from the DVd released in 2007?

  • wow they are really strong!!

  • Isn't the lady who plays Zoe's mother in this act? I thought I saw her at 0:30 and 0:38.

  • i think a 'clone' does the mother in this act. Like the four additional zoeys before the diabolos act.

  • I meant to say, "isn't Zoe's mother one of the acrobats?" And yes, I did notice that somebody else was dressed like her at 2:41.

  • yeah you`re right, she's zoe's mother and someone else is playing the mother.

  • They are all so remarkably strong! What I woudn't give to be that strong....and flexiable!!!!

  • i saw it on mexico last week its fantastic

  • ohh dangerous!

  • This is also one of my favorites! I like the music as well.

  • does anybody know what that swingy thing is that, that man sits on at 2 minutes 45 seconds
