why cant people get these ad rite,,the movement with there mouth isnt in time with the video its about a second behind,,man that bugs the hell out of me
How long did she practice the lip synching for then. There was a programme here in the UK about how this iconic commercial was made a few nights back. It was all cut in the studio the people never actually met on the hilltop in Rome
What about the surroundings, the scenery ? They didn't have green screens and photo shop and all that. How did they say it was done. I mean, no doubt the singing was already compiled and it was synced. But the video ?
Green / Blue screen is not the only way of achieving this effect. You record the scenery once and you record the singers several times, the lead singers voice is then used as the master track for the song. Listen to the song and you will understand why it was mixed in the way it was. The film is back projected from behind
@computersolutions164 I don't think anyone believes that this commercial was shot as people just going to a hilltop and singing. We're not THAT naive any longer. But I'm just saying that I believe at some point along the way, these people had to go to the hilltop for some of the shoot. Any search I've made on the net seems to support as fact that these people did ,at some point, meet on the hilltop for some shooting.
Maybe we are not now, but you have answered your own question really. This commercial was originally shot in the early 70's when perhaps we were that naive. We were certainly less aware of world events then than we are now....blah...blah
@computersolutions164 My comment was originally about those saying that these people NEVER met on the hilltop to sing. My point was that, no, I'm sure they did not. Not in the way that people think of. That is, they did not all take a ukulele and go up and strum and sing. But, the commercial never claims that. It simply states that they got these youth on a hilltop to bring you this message. And that DID happen. The rest, people have made up in their own minds.
1971 -- opens with tight frame on blue-eyed peach-blossom white girls then widening frame and panning across expanding ethnicity (implying inclusiveness).
This would be executed in reverse, virtually, for the same ad meant for more or less the same target audience in 2009.
I'd like to see you try and re-up this video and hope it's synced (don't delete this one in case), the quality is superior to the other available, but the out-of-sync ruins it.
The background story on this ad is quite interesting. Regarding the fact the actors lips don't quite jive with the words can be explained away by saying they are singing in their native tongues!
