The movie was great, one slight problem, the roles are reversed. Wonder why they never turn the camera around when Scott was standing in front of the Nations Flag. The roles are reversed...the white guy should be shinning the shoes of Patton, and the black troops should of been in the tanks!!! "Another 'mistruth again' rises out of Hollywood." The 761st was Patton's heroes, the spearhead into Germany...they were all Black...Buffalo Soldiers. Rescue at Pine Ridge. com
@poshportia62 There is also a book by Charles W. Sasser tittled Patton's Panthers that goes into great detail of the history and movements of the 761st Tank Battalion in WWII. In the book Patton is quoted as saying, "I have nothing but the best in my Army. I don't care what color you are, so long as you go up there and kill those Krauts."
Great moment at 1:06 when the orchestra reaches full volume on the march. I thought Goldsmith took that portion of the theme from an existing army march, but I can't seem to locate the source.
MacArthur was one of the worst generals of WWII, yet somehow was always able to place the blame of his and his staff's screwups on his subordinates. Just ask the 32nd Division and their campaign on New Guinea. Mac was America's Monty.
778th Tank Battalion! One of Patton's BEST!!!
