  • why do you cut the edges of the leaves?

  • too young to top dude, that looks about 4 weeks old and malnourished, no offense

  • lol fail

  • All i saw was a video of you destroying your marijuana plant

  • You should cut it at an angle instead of straight in half so it can grow better.

  • @kushaholic420 nah i did but it just dried and didn't grow and i cut it like sideways :/

  • will more branches come from the part you cut off?

  • The lowest 4 branches of a cannabis plant have some sort of signifigance that I would have to go back and read about in the Jorge Cervantes bible. For example if you do rejuvenation on a plant after bud cycle...reverting from bloom back to vegetative...they tell you to keep the bottom 4 brances because of something having to do with the hormones! But I will say that I dont prefer to top my plant like this either.

  • does it have to be in a certain height?

  • @nemen91 no

  • @justen446. When cloning, the plant has to develop an entirely new root system and therefor cannot support so much of a plant. So when you cut the leaves, you make it so th plant has less to support making it a healthier cloned.

  • why do you cut the leaves ive seen many people do it before why do people do it?

  • cut too much off for a nomal topping, you just need to cut the very top off so it stops growing as one top.you have just wasted alot of time growing the plant that tall to cut it in half.take clones off side branches.

  • this is clearly cloning. topping removes the TOP of the newest growth, in attempts to make it branch out rather than grow up n tall. good to do if you have limited vertical area to work with, like a box.

on the same hand, cloneing isnt a bad idea. its a very good plant to do that. perhaps a video response showing your cloner setup?

interisting plant regardless on termanology, just dont get caught brother!

  • cant you kill your plant by doing this?

  • i think your beard needs topping lmao

  • badass beard!!

  • haha!node rhymes with choad!

  • so the purple stem goes away after a while?

  • @1.58 i see cutted leaves, did you try to top "properly" the plant before this murder?

  • if you're planning on cloning it's better to cut diagonally through the stem so the cut has more surface area for roots to grow.

  • @USERX15 Maybe he did?

It's better to top a plant at a straight angle... you can always cut the top to whatever angle you like.

  • @DackIsBack

Maybe! I never said he didn't.

And i'll have to disagree, from what i've gathered if you're topping and planning on cloning the cut foliage, a diagonal cut will encourage more root development on the open cut. If you're not cloning than it (obviously) doesn't matter. Thanks for your input and happy growing!

  • @USERX15 You can always cut it diagonally after it has been cut from the plant. Two cuts. One cut to top it, and if you try to grow the cutting, cut the stem of the cutting (wich will end up being the root) diagonally.

  • better idea chuck it in the bin your crap

  • your plant is pants

  • if u cut with a blade its better because the scissor pinch the stem and it could slow the growing down or possibly kill it....but nice videos

  • @lrod1516 and this plant, as you can clearly see if you know what youre looking at, has 4. so apparently youre the idiot here¿

  • @tokinGLX

Just some advice you want to cut the main stalk at a 45 degree angle to increase the regrow on the main plant and increase the obsorbsion of water for the clone to decrease the time it ttakes the clone to root out.

Cheers and I love your videos btw

  • @chickendinnification Also after you cut the first 45 dgree cut cut another on on the other side and cut just a little off the point at where they meet giving you 3 main colas instead of 2.

  • @tokinGLX hello tokin i have a question im a new growqer but my question is lets say my plant starts to sprout today (from seeds)and 2 weeks from now i put it to buding stage and give it 12/12 would it still bud and i know its going to be a male and female buts its okay to me if it makes seeds.

  • Comment removed

  • @lrod1516 That's not the only reason, as he said one is more even light distribution, another is the fact that topping inhibits growth of the main stem somewhat by distributing auxin hormones throughout the plant because it is "confused" about which branch is the main cola, this causes the other branches to grow with much more vigor and is useful in methods like scrogging because it allows lower branches to reach the canopy. AND to correct you again, 2, 4, 8 or more colas can be made. Idiot.

  • @lrod1516 Plus look at this guy's beard. He obviously knows what he's doing.

  • @lrod1516 Any plant without ever touching it will always have a cola. You obviously don't know what you just witnessed. This guy killed two birds with one stone. He topped above the first two nodes creating two tops which equals two colas, are you keeping up? And used the cutting to clone the topped plant which he most likely topped as well.

  • can you please tell me what i need to cut off from my plant. i will make a vid when my plant is a bigger (now it is like 1" xD) and than tell me what i need to do like what i need to cut off and such

    Thx

    viss3n

  • when is it ideal to start topping your plant? i've had mine for about 3 weeks and it has about 12 leaves on it and 4 branches

  • wait, so you only top it once? or do you continue to top it as the plant grows?

  • y do the stems go red my budda chesse stems have gone redish on the top is it bad or gud'

  • Comment removed

  • the right way u end up with like 4 main stems and then 8-10 kolas braning frm those look up urbangrower prime example...

  • wow r u serious... since when does topping a plant mean u cut off tha main stem... that sir is supercropping,.. TOPPING is when u cut the TOP node forcing 2 new tops to grow from the nearest nodes from the top, if u just cut the newest set of leaves growing from the top u get 2 new sets in its place and if u do it angain u get 4 and so on then u get a bushy plant with 10 kolas or more, u just cut half way down tha plant witch kinda defeats the purpous, if you start topping frm the beggining

  • nice beard ahaha

  • i tried this ones with one of my plants and a couple days after seeing what happens i did it to 10 more lol. 3 weeks into veg and i topped like this, by the time i harvest i had 4 main colas, and 4 side colas beside the mains. also i have several mini colas popping out in between the others. it was amazing and if i ever have a seed growing again im gunna top it fersure

  • i cryed whe you cut it

  • Can you top on all the top nodes or does it give too much stress for the plant?

  • nice video bro keep it up =] still confused on the whole mother plant shit and what it means im google it hopefully i find something useful

  • bro why top it at the middle i always top mine at the very top multiple times n i get around 6-8 fat top buds that r thick n juicy

  • Yo, show us how to FIM at the earliest stage possible... Regular topping has been done before

  • how do yhou this so bhusy so quickly how much trimming did u doÉ

  • if you have a big plant like a sativa for exemple super silver haze and you don't want it to grow too tall because your outdoor green house is about 2 meters high. topping it will make it shorter and wider or the height will be the same although it gets more bushy??

  • @joraga309 Topping will make it grow wider and more bushlike. I suggest doing so if you dont want your plants too tall.

  • Comment removed

  • That's not how you top a plant, thats just chopping it in half and rooting what u chopped off...

  • @Hato50187 Your stupid The reason why you cut the top of is soo that the bottom leaves grow more so that your plants would be more bushy!

  • @Hato50187 he topped it and cloned it

  • @Hato50187 which is exactly what topping a plant is.

  • @Hato50187 That "slight fact" apart he also didn't mention that before you touch a plant with scissors THEY MUST BE STERILISED!

  • hey man i got some questions : what if ur plants are growing tall but has no nodes on the lower of the plant ? im being patient but im not seeing much detail on specific topping this is a good vid but like i said no nodes on the lower stock of my plants

  • niiiiice taught me a thing or two bro good video

  • I just about cried when I saw you cut the plant in half. But anyone with the balls to cut a marijuana plant in half must have a little bit of an idea of what their doing. So I I tip my hat off to you. Keep on growing my friend

  • so the video named topping your plant isnt about cloning, right?

  • @Gimyc hey alright, somebody did get the memo! (':

  • is this plant a clone ? or can u do this to a clone

  • @oglockush yes to both questions.

  • i assumed the whole point of topping was to allow the plant to develop 2 major colas rather than 1. by doing what this guy did in the video wil not produce 2 colas.. all he did is cut the plant in half...

  • So you can basically top it anywhere as long as it's half way up the stem right? because I topped below third node... please need help asap!

  • @DJd3monic u can below the 3rd node, that is fine.... this guy is stupid as hell, he just wasted a shitload of grow time, he should of topped it near the top.... or when it was younger

  • @Devon187 Yeah I noticed that, I was shocked he had clipped it so low, and like it was nothing. Granted I don't know how it it affected his plant positive or negative but still... anyway Thanks!

  • @Devon187 stupid as hell¿ haha. ok. are you assuming i grow for commercial sale¿ you assume wrong. some people rush their grows to get the final product out as soon as possible. other people dont rush things because they just plain dont need to. im one of those other peoples.

  • @tokinGLX learn to top a plant lol, u cut a fresh new node, so it multiplies, not the middle of the fucking stem rofl.... regardless of whether its a cash crop or personal use

  • @Devon187 you type like you learned to grow from a high times mag......

  • You top before flowering. Do it in veg. You should wait for your plant to fully recover before you flower.

  • I bugged when he cut the top of the plant off... I was like D: and then I thought how much bigger it would get and then I was like :) does anyone know exactly when you should top off? I heard it was like a week before flowing and then I also heard u do it after it starts. Idk I need some help is my point.

  • MANNN FUCK TOKINGL X

  • thats a weird looken pot plant

  • Why did you cut the leaves?

  • @bacon2boy He tells you in the beginning of the video

  • hey man how was that shikeberry? can't get that anymore

  • does this interfere with when she will go into flowering stage?

  • The reason for the plant gettin bushy has nothing to do with light but because you hav cut off the dominant meristem cells causing the rest of the tips to grow evenly and all retrieve equal amounts of nutrition.

  • Look to all the dickheads talking about cloning and saying that paul is wrong in what he did. You do realise he can do it b4 it goes in the cloner

Top plant, Take Top, Re-cut at 45 degree angle, Put in cloner. Fuck man settle down its not that much of a fucking problem to get worked up over. ya know for a bunch of stoners u guys are fucking ridiculous. we are all lazy at times not saying that u were in this vid paul just saying that.. he can re cut the stem later if he wants to fuck guys settle

  • ahh fuck that , i was about to try it but thats like a month of growth you just chopped off im good with my tall plant

  • how long dose it take to grow the buds on it

  • what is a node? im so noob at this

  • and who said you cant cut it again in a 45 degree angle? this guy knows what hes doin noob. keep up the good videos.

  • useless video....cut the plant in half and call it topping, all those views and not even 200 likes

  • @tokinGLX there's just no point in arguing man. Just do what you do if you think it's the best thing to do. Peace.

  • hi i'm a new grower. what do i do if i want to make big buds?

  • Woah thats pretty severe topping. I usually just top the very tip of the plant, leaving the nodes at each side to grow into two new tops......still,whatever works for you!

  • how often do u top it plz answer

  • i just started a plant! its a a week old how much light? and when can i top it?

  • you were holding your scissors wrong and I would recommend changing that paneling on the wall. ;-)

that should just about cover all the stupid trolling..

  • btw for all those people out there who want to troll, if you want to clone a plant it is "recommended" to cut it 45 degrees and if you choose not to it is your choice. It does not make the biggest difference in the world! It might heal faster or grow bigger but depends if you want to it grow bigger. I suggest all of you who are trolling should make your own video before you criticize.

  • you look better in this one. not to make much of your looks cause it your knowledge we enjoy, but your current hair cut is fuckin strange.

  • Good shit dude, short and to the point. Enjoy that dankberry goodness 2 months from now nigga! thnx for the upload

  • @kongreggate1 this video is from almost a year and ahalf ago im sure the bud has been smoked up by now.

  • could someone please tell me why my buds are starting to get little yellow flowers on them..

  • @ras1el Because they are male ( hermaphodite ) bananas , some strains do male clusters at the very end of the flowering cicle ! Is there a yellow fine powder coming from them ? You should get better genetics next time !

  • you should top your beard

  • @Albone3000 his beard is epic

  • Look for YOUTUBE partnership!

  • Love the video short to the point and no lame ass music and at least u actually no wats good

  • my solution is to cut at an angle and certainly if your cloning. You will get better results and by the way don't crop that low! Depend's on your situaion.

  • I was wondering how old the plant sould be before you start groming her to be a mother?

  • how long i do i have to wait to know if my plant is a male or a female?

  • I just cut the top bud and it has the same exponential effect without such a drastic pruning. Im sure you know better tho.

  • Hrmm...df

  • wow i thought you made this video like a week ago... its 2011,

  • Yeah wizard Beard has to go

  • For cloning, you should cut the stem 45 degrees. Not the way you show in the video..

  • @kennyk2007 are you stupid or something¿ this was not a cloning video, this is a topping video.

  • @tokinGLX Great video. This is the best vid on the practice of "topping." Unlike other youtube topping vids, the plant you demonstrate on is easy to see & unobstructed by leaves & the part you top or cut from is clearly visible. My 1st question: 1) Can a grower top a plant that's a week into the flowering or at any time during the 12 hr day/12 hr night flowerin stage? (I'd like to top my plants that are 1 feet to 1 & a half feet tall & are at the flowering stage.). Thx, dude I value ur input :)

  • @tokinGLX Do you know maybe how this name appears Shishka Berry ?I have a simple curious because on russian shishka means cone!

  • @tokinGLX but if u were also gnna clone it i would've deff cut 45degrees.. any thime i take a cut anywhere on a plant

  • @tokinGLX But your implying that your method of cloning is just as effective. You didn't mention that your approach may have been ineffective. That is what he is arguing. Sorry to annoy you with this belated comment.

  • @shigiti2 this video is not about cloning at all, in the least. i imply nothing at all about cloning other than that this video is not about cloning at all.

  • @tokinGLX well actually , mr. tokin, you do mention that you take the top and put in into your cloner.... 1:43 - 1:48....so i think kenny has a point

  • @danejorgenson21 right, the top goes through the cloning process. topping the plant would be prepping for cloning. i dont take the thing as it and just throw it in the cloner...once again, this video is not anything at all about cloning. it is about removing the top of the plant.

  • @tokinGLX These kids want to argue with you so badly lol jealous fucks.

  • @danejorgenson21 just because he tops it flat and says he's gonna put it in the cloner later doesnt mean that he cant re chop it

  • @danejorgenson21 haha "mr tokin"..

  • @shigiti2 Paul does not have to state whether it is effective or it isnt because THIS IS NOT A CLONING VIDEO.

Paul is only showing us how to top the plant. He is not implying anything because he could've gone and re chopped the top at a 45 degree angle off camera

  • @tokinGLX thats a fine way to top but honestly that just leaves it to only have four main branches instead get inbetween the very top most nodes and remove the most recent grown node so that way oxygen cant enter through the stem and it makes so more main branches are able to grow through just some advice

  • @kennyk2007 hahahaha fail

  • Comment removed

  • @kennyk2007 If you use cloning gel it doesnt matter man.

the angle is to make more area for root to grow, which is irrelevent with a good gel.

ive NEVER done 45* and clones take every time.

you should rephrase that as a suggestion and not a "guaranteed truth" cuz it isnt.

  • Seven guys know how to grow ...

  • You should not use a scissor because of the pinching effect , you should use clonex in the blade so it helps the wound in the mother plant , you should do the toping only if you don't master super-cropping technics , you should take clone from lower branches because of the rooting hormones , you should ... ahhh , " I'll start my own herb documentary " ...

  • @doldei you should realize that the plant heals perfectly fine on its own. you should realize that topping and supercropping are two different things entirely and used for different results. you should have a slight clue about what the video was about before leaving dumbass comments. you should learn what a period is and how to use it.

  • @tokinGLX The "on it's own" seems to be the thing with your plants , sure dude , whatever. I really don't take much notice on what stressed , revegetated , 3 leaf plants growers have to say , although I would apreciate if you'd enlighten me about the diferences ( purpose and result ) of the two technics . You should use capital letters when you star a sentence . Don't get me wrong though , each one to it's own ... peace !

  • @tokinGLX My 2nd question: Your example is of a 8 inch plant you cut off the top 5 inches & leave the remaining 3 inches. So this means theoretically, those 3 inches will regenerate into a taller plant with wider, stronger stems/stalks??? I kind of believe how this is possible: It's like in bodybuilding, where you add more weight and actually cause little tears in muscle fiber, but then the muscle grows more as a result of the stress. thanks for your upload. It's very easy 2 understand.

  • @tokinGLX hahahaha owned him

  • @tokinGLX can you force a flower on a plant smaller then 12 inches? Im thinking like 8-10 inches?

  • @TheRealtalk617 Yes you can , but how much it grows then depends on her genetics mostly ... I don't find small plants productive though !

  • @doldei damn dude you got merked! bit your lip too like a biaaatchhh...nice vids tokin...when we gonna partayyy!?

  • @BmoneyRnow Are you talking to me ? What language is that ? Negroic ? Blackish ? I don't speak that , sorry ...

  • @doldei bet you dont speak much to anybody ya troll. Punk w no friends in real life so you so you go on the internet and troll around...what a fucking scrub

  • @BmoneyRnow Whatever fantasy suits you dude, I don't realy care about any of this ... weird stressed revegetated plants and gay love !

  • @doldei ...ur a creep dude

  • how many hours of light do u give the mom???

  • you have to put the part you cut off it in rooting solution right

  • do you have to put the part you cut off it in rooting solution

  • when should i top how old is this plant?

  • topping is a waste you should be bending that plant in the area you cut it in , and tie it down below everything else , and it will turn every thing into top buds then release the tied down top after every thing grows up , and you still retain the original top bud and not wasting all you cut off , you can take your cuttings off the bottom , for your clones ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

  • I havent started growing yet but im hoping too as soon as possible :) im just wondering though... Would the plant not go into shock and die if you cut that much off or can plants only go into shock when you transfer them into different surrondings? Any advice would be good :D

  • @BitchGotMurked -imo it takes quite a lot to fuck the plant up&i grow&top&fim everything else(supercrop etc),this plant can take quite a bit of stress!

  • Hey im going to do a dresser drawer grow box, im not going to clone it so could i use this method to make it more ''bushier'' or would you recommend using the low stress training method rather? Also, how old was your plant in this video Thanx!

  • my mom killed all of my plants after a foot tall. And i sure wasn't about to leave them over my friends fuck that shit.

  • damn you chopped off alot of plant

  • @doomsword86 yes its ridiculous I agree

  • @doomsword86 well if you got caught, you would probably get tazered and beaten by police battons... then when you get to jail, you would no doubt be raped in the anus on a regular basis... but besides that, not much

  • im useing a pc grow box could i possibly top it then put the clone right next to the main plant?

  • @blakasassin1 yes you can, as long as the main plant is still in veg lighting cycle

  • If you top a weed plant does it make it more bushy? for more bud?

  • new years resolution- grow morree plants

  • How do you know the sex of that plant at such an early stage...is it a clone?

  • how many weeks was that plant in veg mode before you topped it?

  • iv got a question my plants are approxmntly 6 weeks in veg on 24 light and has started showing sex wuts up wit that

  • hey do you have any videos on how to go about starting the grow process. i only want one plant but i cant grow indoors. and i dont really know what im doing. i am germinating my seeds now in a moist paper towel, when the rots spprout i got a pot with soil ready for it. but after that i have no idea what to do. with sunlight and water and such. i have no idea weather i have an indica or sativa strain either. its just some seeds ive been saving. any help would be awsome.

  • can you bud your plant when its that tall?

  • @MrMurray173 you can bud your plants at any height

  • @xboxplaya420 ooh, how much bud would you get off one that small. like a quarter o?
