  • as for the audi tt i think they should put them2 t's to use n slap a twin turbo in there or make a more affordable and practical version of the r8 for the middle class people give us a taste of the r8 without the pricetag so i think the inline 5 will work great 5 cylinders half of the r8's v10 and to make it more cool give it a more aggressive looking front end my opinion is to make it a mini r8 the r8 is in high demand but not alot can afford it so they'll take the next best thing

  • you have no idea about nsx. You should compare a 1990 honda nsx with 200k + vs 1990 lambo with over 100k. Nsx was a real world supercar. Only porsche 911 can be compared to nsx for real world. I have personally driven a nsx with over 300k on it. Even 18 year old nsx had no electrical, mechanical issues, body rust issues. audi tt is a girls car.

  • Personally I could not agree with you more. But I don't think Clarkson would like being sensored. That would take too much away from the appeal of the BBC version. Also I don't think Ford and Chevy would like to air commercials after Jeremy just spent fifteen odd minutes bashing their badges.

  • incorrect, dyno test estimate 500bhp, and it was a standard gt-r. Handtimed by spectators, the v-spec proto which has "550hp" as nissan claims and is lighter did it in roughly 7:25. long time ago. The team still is working on it. the 7:29 was a normal gtr. But in all honesty, if with even a 121 extra hp and so much less weight it didnt manage anything special. Yes it doesnt have awd, but cmon. Its so much lighter. and more powerful and has fatter tires.

  • The BBC is producing the US Top Gear. They actually have to produce the pilot of the show also. So its not stolen.BBC World owns anything Top Gear so NBC would have to purchase a license or some sort to have a show here but related to the US market,Which they did. Its like every euro game show coming to america EG: Who wants to be a millionaire,Weakest Link,etc. Its the same as those.

  • I would have to agree with some people on the TT, but look at what Audi is. They are the luxury brand of VW, and the new lines are more aggressive then the TT of old, so a little more masculine. For the price they need to step up and make a car that guys who want to be more grown up then the STI and EVOX, they need to take their challenge from that. I agree, a 350hp Turbo 3.2 (VR6) would be nice. Same fun as the "performance" Lancer and WRX, but with the Audi comfort and luxury edge. AWD a must

  • about stealin gas.. i heard that a good way was to buy those numbers that u find on the pumps at a store like home depot, put the number 3 on a pump that is far away for example on a #9. go to the real # 3 pump. chill there and wait for some loser to go pay for gas on the number "3"{actually the number 9 number} and all u have to do is notice it and pump away... by the time anyone notices, ur at ur house!! jiggaboo jones tells it better...audi tt??? at least 350hp

  • The TT's lack of coolness isn't a horsepower issue, it due to sharing the same underpinnings as a Golf/Rabbit. the day Audi develops a new or better derived chassis for the car thats when it coolness consideration will arrive.

  • if audi makes a tt-rs they need to change that awd system in order to make the car more fun. Audi designs the awd system with safety first, with rs models, the safety should be sacrificed for driving dynamics

  • for the Audi TT to be cool....400hp, similar to the most TVR's, and they're certainly just as curvy as the TT is. Also with respect to appearence of the TT, a very bold wing on the back would be an interesting contrast. It already has large rims and is well lowered. So perhaps a mean racing appearence with a large or medium-subtle wing on the back would make the Audi TT shed a little more impact on the eyes.

Germany's Sport Auto magazine is one of the first media outlets to keep track of cars' Nurburgring laptimes -- most of which were turned by the mag's editor-in-chief Horst von Saurma. The car companies use their respective chief test drivers, all of whom are arguably 'ring experts since so much of their prototype testing is done there. I'd love to see how they all stack up against each other in one car.

  • At least 400bhp would make the TT look cool. But seriously Audi cant give the TT-RS more then 400bhp because it would take sales from its R8. Audi TT-S has 270bhp so dont expect the RS to exceed 330-350bhp.

  • Audi TT I think will probably have the 2.5T. A package that no VW currently has. The 2.0T is a solid engine that took forever for VW/Audi to pick up. For the Audi TT to be cool, I would say a minimum of 335HP as well as no DSG tranny, flappy paddle gearboxes are great, if you are lazy.

  • Is horsepower what's wrong with the TT? The car post respectable performance within it's class. The TT would be cool if it went on a diet. Audi's have a tendancy to be heavy cars; most new cars are way too heavy. And the car is bulbous, not to be confused with boobous, although it is a possiblity so I decided to clarify. A stronger, leaner look would do wonders for this car. The car doesn't get the respect it deserves, but the fact that people talk about it shows the TT isn't so off the mark.

I don't know if I could see a US Top Gear being terribly popular in the US and the big thing, like Jay Leno said, is that the Brits are very critical in their car reviews. I mean, you've all seen the way Clarkson will point out something he doesn't like in a car and most Americans don't really like that. Maybe it's just me, but I think I'd rather watch the BBC and see Clarkson drive a Peel.

(1.50-1.60 a litre. 4 litres in a gallon and the 1 aussie dollar = 95 US cents) And its climbing, said to be $2 a litre by the end of the year beginning of next so thats what... around $8 a gallon by US standards... bring fucking hydrogen powered cells into place, hydrogen + oxygen = boom.

People start buying cheaper cars, and keep them longer, which companies like ford, honda and GM will be making less cars and making crappier cheaper cars. I hope that is not true, when I get the cash, I want to be able to buy the next GTR of my time, and not a yaris.
