1991...This song brings me back to ballin' on the cliffs of encinitas, san diego county (north). Lou's records was open, they turned me on to this tune....it's a beauty!!!! 200 FEET ABOVE THE PACIFIC.......RENTED 2 BEDROOM HOUSE/CRIB. I RECALL THE TRAFFIC HELICOPTER MAKING CIRCLES OVER OUR HAMMOCK AS WE WERE ENGAGED IN THE THROWS!!!!! TOP SHELF TOO.....THIS WAS GREAT.
Funny how Superstition as over computerized & over produced can be contains soooo many f***ing good songs !! Shadowtime undoubtedly one of the best SATB songs
Oddly enough, Siouxsie has went on record to say that the "Superstition" CD is her least favorite out of all the S. & BANshee records. It was called "Superstition" because it was their 13th release of a album proper.
Siouxsie disliked recording "Superstition" because of the computer-based production. The album was the band's tenth studio album. They made 11 studio albums.
When ever I hear this song I always wonder if Siouxsie learned about Native American tales....... It's during the darkness of a new moon,(shadowtime) that certain shamen,(skin crawlers/changlings) would transform into different beast of the night. This band is soooo deep on many levels!
@gridlocksk8r re discovering how much I love this band 32 years later. What a beautiful song beautiful voice and woman. All time! hahaha looking at her in video made me forget how to spell
She and All her different line ups have always produced such great great music. Truly all time great woman, performer in music history. Great Band always! Since 1978 when I first heard her sing and the bands dark deep music, it touched me and still does reflecting back listening to all these videos and remembering again how top notch this band was. such a unique sound from the start .
Top 3 females in my book would be Siousxie , Harriet Wheeler of the Sundays , and Elizabeth Frazier of Cocteau twins . Nothing compares the the feeling i get from any other female
How much longer do we have to wait, for their return back here to reclaim what great music should sound like when you go to a concert!! She is and will always be the real Queen from England! Sooo far ahead of their time! Omaha,NE Loves Ya!!
A very ethereal and timeless song. I feel like I should be blasting along in my spaceship going from galaxy to galaxy with Siouxsie by my side. Well, thats my fantasy anyway...hehehe. One of my favorite Banshee songs.
"Best. Banshees. Single. Ever"? Must be the first song you ever heard from them, because taking their whole repertoire into account, this has to be considered one of the worst singles ever. Ask any Banshees fan from before 1985 and you will get near unanimous agreement. It's just insipid filler. Something you never had previously on a Banshees album.
Oh I have all the SATB records and I do enjoy the variety they offer and for me the Shadowtime is their best song (with "Into the light" and "Dazzel" being close)...
Great Song!! Great Sound!! The band was ahead of its time!! What a Friggin' Video!! C'mon Sue lets gets back and make some new music, the airwaves need you as does the world!!
Someone commented it was a bad single, the worst. No, it's really good. Fantastic. You must not have heard it like the rest of us did or you may have been so much of a fan at the time you were disappointed if it sounded different to you. I was introduced to SATB all at once, about 1991 after Kiss Them for Me. So it's all real cool for me. And yes, she's hot.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
She looked her absolute hottest around 1991-93, but this song barely sounds like SATB. A few tell-tale vocal mannerisms aside, it could be just about anyone. Worst. Banshees. Single. Ever?
This video is just as inspiring as the song. I feel like in an absolute utopia when I hear it. One of my favorite songs ever! Siouxsie, you are wonderful! What a voice and a beauty!
One of my favorite tunes! This band is timeless and sounds as good today as when this song was released. Siouxsie is the most beautiful and talented female singer ever.
You know.. I always thought that she was beautiful too. My friends thought that I was mad crazy. This song reminds me of the warm summer nights ( when I lived in California ) when you could feel the azure sky through the smog. I love this song.
they were too far ahed for their times. great music, great singer. still today.

bee-yooo-ti-ful. I'm convinced Madonna totally took her act from Siouxsie, even if she's never admitted it!

To Toris100. I agree with one addition - Johnette Napolitano of Concrete Blonde. Truly a magic, mysterious voice also.
Dr. Weetabix
p.s. I agree this is their best song, a real masterpiece
