@mikektz7 thanks for your interest mike. we recorded the trombone with a Neumann TLM 170 microphone through a SSL 9000J pre-amp. All mixing and tweaking was done on the console. We intentionally positioned the microphone somewhat off to the side of the trombone bell, lending it a somewhat warmer characteristic.

für unseren duo sound haben wir ein spezielles gitarren-setup entwickelt. es wurde eine ibanez gb 200 umgebaut. bartolini pickups, metall bridge mit graphtech midi-system, spezieller buffer preamp. über die beiden unteren saiten kann ich mit einem axon ax 100 in echtzeit ein bass-sound erzeugen. ich spiele grundsätzlich ohne! gitarren-amp. immer direkt in eine pa-box oder im studio direkt ins pult. der git.-sound ist eher orchestraler/kristalliner :-) wolf

Trombone and guitar do indeed go well together. I am also just getting a quartet with b,d,tmb,g off the ground. You guys sound very nice, but I think it would be better if you dropped the backing tracks. It should all be live (though I know its a challenge to play without either bass or drums).

In addition to this we play and record the percussion parts live with the help of a "Boss rc-50" looping station.

You won't believe it, but on the back of my guitar I have fixed a snare drum head that I play with a brush to produce a typical "brushed" drum sound. For the video we recorded the tracks separately, but otherwise we produce the effect live.
