  • its like trying to educate breezeblock

  • i just listened to this song on the radio found it interesting so looked it up

  • Hey! It's David Spade!!! Just Kidding! Love the MADchester bands

  • One Hit Wonder

  • Didn't listen to the record? Could have been a 12 hit wonder.

  • Top album - painfully underrated band.

  • this tunes about smack

  • no this tune is about a girl

  • @merch1892 no its not

  • do you think he wanted to tell the world he was on the gear like ? i dont think so. cmon mate think about it. its just nuggetts like you who want it to be about smack

  • @merch1892 why dont you fukin read into it toss bag before you open your trap

  • stick to listening to suede you faggot

  • It's apparently about his heroin addiction...

  • no really i thought it was about a fucking hermaphrodite shemale with 3 dicks and big tits :\

  • get on you trying to be funny an its just not happening

  • Simple chord structure, melodies and lyrics but yet, when I reflect upon my music collection (milk crates of vinyl and CD's that take up half of my garage), this is one of my Top 5 albums. I even have this album on cassette. Shame if I recall, of all the demons and in-fighting that broke up the band.

  • this song is about some drug???

  • Good band! pitty they realy did't stand a chance being the best with the Stone Roses about!

  • are you messin mate? the roses are shit live ian brown cant sing to save his life there shit live the la's were a top live act

  • @merch1892 Hay The roses did some class gigs in ther prime!! BLACKPOOL!!

Plus also made one of the top 5 greatest albums of all time! if U litsen to the LA'S album V THE STONE ROSES the choice is very clear [to me anyway] do giv it to the LA's they were origanal but U heard the songs the Roses were just tossing off as b-sides?? they better then any bands A -sides!!

  • yeah the roses av got some class tunes but the whole point of being a band is to play live. browns vocals in blackpool are fuckin terrible plus av seen him live aswell an he was shit. plus you wont get the la's puttin out the same song only backwards like the roses did about a million times

  • @merch1892 I'm not gonna be Ignorant about it, U hav a point about the Live thing but its not really about that for ROSES/BROWN fans its what he & they pulled off in the studio what makes em & ther song writting! Like the backwards track GUERNICA [made of stone backwards/ just check out the lyrics to it!!! like a said B4 Roses were tossing of jems like that when the LA's just realesed the same song 3 times!! they just like a one hit wonder comperd to Roses! :ps I think FEELING is Top Tune better

  • @merch1892 If ther is one band fm the 80's that out shine the lot, in my opinion its The Smiths, better songwritting too! don get me wrong the La's are an ace band hence I'm here litsening! They do hav alot in commen with ROSES how they sing in ther strong Norhen accents ie the Roses track like this called GOING DOWN! its hard with Roses 3 albums worth of songs must be harder for The La's fans only one!! They are very underrated!

  • the smiths are quality

  • Fucking awesome! La!

  • so simple, yet so addicting, love this song

  • I only really dig soul music, but this song holds a special place in my heart and always will, just one of the best tunes ever!

  • lol dig how old are you? no offense

  • erano anni che cercavo questa canzone,e finalmente l'ho trovata;un singolo veramente eccezzionale!

  • wot an fucking tune, one of my favorites, reminds me of lark lane this tune ! SCOUSE POWER !

  • Good sound, fine lyrics, perfect mood, great song.

  • Makes me think of my girlfriend, always racing through my brain :D

  • thats sweet... Shes lucky

  • hotties!! :D

  • ♥

  • too good to be true!!

love it all, the rhythm, the guitar and the sound of the singer!! :)

  • scouse in the house

  • This song is wonderfull, but I understand it not 100% because I came from switzerland.

  • I can listen to this again and again and again!

  • lovee this song! :D

  • i really love this song me encantaa !

  • I <3 This Song !!!

    :D

  • Anyone happen to know the year on this song ? thanx Heff

  • @EricHeffner 88

  • wooo the best song ever!!!

  • The best 3 minutes of music ever written...shame that Lee Mavers didn't have more.

  • i absolutely love this song its wicked! :P xD

  • Timeless classic.

  • beast song

  • cool song in parent trap :D

  • hahha just what i thought.

  • R these gettin back together

  • nice song ^^

  • Even after 20 years I never tire of this record. It's nothing but a handful of chords, a simple hook and a few lines of verse. A masterpiece.

  • I love The la´s!!

  • C'est fiable ce truc !

  • I <3 8O´s

  • nice song

  • i heard it was about h.

  • it seems h is exactly what its about

  • Heroin

  • The greatest pop song ever written.

  • its definitely up there!!

  • Hm.

  • This song,

    no matter how many years,

    just never gets old

  • excellent stuff...

  • Brilliant !!

  • son of the beatles, father of oasis,

  • That's brilliant man...yeah good quote. great band.

  • Great song. I'm an old fart and this song ran ks up there with some of the catchiest, best three minute pop tunes ever written. The Brits have given us some great bands over the decades.

  • A great wedding song

  • Britpop is still alive with a new generation!

Check out Careful What You Wish For by Phoebe Peek - she's only 13 and a British singer songwriter...bloody awesome!

  • wats a scouse? haha, they have a few other good tunes, quality band

  • I love this song, reminds me of my childhood

  • Too bad these guys never made it in States. Mavers and Power are a fab songwriting team. Most people in the U.S. who know the song from Parent Trap, Gilmore Girls or Sixpence None the Richer have no clue about The La's.

    A shame, really.

  • so what heroins a love affer believe me i come out after 2 years and shes a bitch 11 yr clean

  • omg you all know the songs about heroin!! get a grip.

  • Not really. The guitarist of the band denied that it was about Heroin in the book "In Search of the La's: A Secret Liverpool"

But yes, it does have some drug connotations, but it appears that they are unintentional. I believe the evidence. Some people who look at the lyrics say it's about heroin, but someone in the band says otherwise. I trust the guy in the band.

  • i remember this song from the parent trap...before lindsay lohan became a hollywood sellout

  • beautiful song - - unfortunate to think what cud have been...:(

  • I rember this song from so I married an axe murderrer with mike meyers

  • HULLO !

  • why does it have to be about heroin?because there scousers, get a grip!

  • "Pulsing through my veins" and "She calls my name" are key lines to the heroin theory. But this is a great song regardless, I listened to it multiple times a day for like 6 months, haha.

  • The song that's in every Hollywood romantic comedy!

  • prefer the Mike Hedges Production.. pity its glorifying drug taking...but great tune and happy memories.

  • great opening guitar riff. I think Tal bachman may have ripped off part of it for his song She's so High. I think the song is about a Heroine.

  • magic

  • great song

  • Wonderful song. Takes me back.

  • This song is about heroin. This band is so underated.

  • theyre massively respected though :) it's just music for people in the know

  • every song in history is about heroin according to youtube

  • amen

  • I'm pretty sure you'll find that The Nolans' classic "I'm In The Mood For Dancing" doesn't mention that naughty drug ....

  • thats cos you havent played it backwards

  • This takes me back.

  • Oh my god i havnt heard this song in ages, we need some more feel good music like this and the kinks, the stone roses and the beach boys

we're livin in dark times and we all need cheering up!!!!!!

  • 120vanquish120 ur spot on, music is in a very bad place right now, Rap and Pop dominate the charts and the indie/rock bands out as iof late are shit

  • very good song... nice lyrics.... pretty retro

  • My favorite song, it's criminal they only made one album.

  • i met lee and he told me he wrote this song about his love of badgers

  • wow love the harmony at 1:00! :)

  • At 0:57 he says PULSING THROUGH MY VEIN tell does this sound like a girl to you? It's true that not all songs are about the king of all drugs but this one is.

  • @

024reredrum: Get back to it when you've experienced true love, then you'll know what it's really about. The guitarist of the band have denied the heroin-myth.

  • They're the las.......they're from Liverpool and 'la' is a Scouse word for 'mate'.

  • what is a scouse?

  • This is my favorite song of all time. It makes me so happy :)

  • Just because you can apply the lyrics to heroin, definitely doesn't mean that's what it's about. The people who sincerely believe that every love song is about drugs are either conspiracy theorists, or else they just haven't been in love.

  • Ha ha. Too true.

  • is this the original version? is it 88?

  • WOW THAT IS CHRIS SHARROCK

doesnt look anything like he is now

    great drummer

  • The last of those innocent, Brit dream-melodies from teen years...someday they'll come back to music.

  • A very young Chris Sharrock on drums,Now drummer with Oasis..Hes great!

  • Wow.. I had no idea Starkey left Oasis.. Damn.. I love Zak!

Anyway, Sharrock is great too! haha

  • theeeeeeere she goes

  • very beautiful!

  • dude below me, you're doing some weird ass heroin then. =p

  • Although "There She Goes" has gained a reputation for being about the use of heroin, that has never been confirmed. Either way, would you deny that women are as potent as any drug? They certainly are for me ! =P

  • Ah... who gives a Rat's Ass about that? This is one of the greatest pop Songs EVER!!! What a MELODY!! And it's about a GIRL!! Not junk. Shame the LA's

couldn't have kept it going.I'm sure there must have been some other great songs

in there somewhere.Oh.. LOVE that dude's comment about how the "Singers'

face is perfect for radio" TOO. funny!!

  • exactly. who cares about the heroin part. it is about a girl for goodness sake. GO LA's!! Hopefully Lee Mavers will go through and make an album with the baby shambles.

  • yeah. i would deny that all day long.

  • You've been sniffing my elderly mother's bunghole?

    Fucking sick freak.

  • Hahahahahahaha...I haven't laughed that hard in a long long time. Thanks.

  • thats coz your sense of smell is already wrecked from the night before...

  • Just when you think you're over her, it all comes bubbling up.

  • they are so boss.

  • there that bitch goes

  • kill her

  • Much loved classic!!

  • The singer's face is perfect for radio.

  • this song's got some good times. fucken amazing.

  • I dub you honorary Aryans and members of the 1980s New Wave. Be Proud.

  • この曲めっちゃ好き!!

    love!

  • pretty funny a song about smack appeared in trip like parent trap and covered by christian bands

  • Have heard of the Stranglers? Golden Brown?

  • Yes! And Peaches, that's a good song by them too.

  • Hehe i love this song

I heard it in the parent trap

  • lol yea thats wer i heard it also here comes the sun u should get it out =]

  • Idiot...

You probably got some kid addicted to it.

  • You tell him, mattjack. What a berk.

  • love this song

  • beautiful song! i heard it when i was very young and i've always loved it. sometimes i'll be in a restaurant or something like that and hear it and just smile :]

  • ausom song

  • cool song

  • The bass player's name is John Power. he had his own band called Cast that had a minor 'Indie' hit in the Mid-90's. I saw their band open up for the then nascent 'Radiohead' near San diego in Mission Valley. Any one remember the venue?

  • thats prett cool dude, im too young to know about all that.

but, as creepy as it sounds, i do appreciate old timers knowledge on music and its be pretty cool to meet you and hear about shows youve seen and such.

  • wonderful feeling when I hear this song...

  • This video looks a lot earlier than 1988 or whenever it was made.....

  • shot with an old 16mm hand held

  • I heard this song when I was like 5 and I finally found it. This song is awesome but the music video should be redone. If you guys who comment don't like the song and just want to cuss at each other just get a facebook and don't mess with this awesome song!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
