  • omg watching you ankle....ooomg..thats scary. glad your okay now

  • ahhhh, i pausedwhen your ankle hit the ground and i was like 'holy s***' D: but i'm happy your okay now.

  • Oh my goodness your ankle like actually snaps in half!!!!!! Cringe! Hope you're okay!! xx

  • ewwwwwwww gorgeous horse though

  • omg i saw when it broke :(

  • ouch :O

  • Do you have the extended version up? if not you should put it up :)

  • @BestBoysLanceAndCash lol its REALLY long idk if it will upload, but i can try :)

  • EW I SAW YOUR ANKLE GET SMUSHED EW IT WAS DISCUSTING NO AFFENCE THOUGH

  • I cringed when I saw this video. I hope your alright and your surgery went well!

I took horse riding lessons in Nova Scotia over the summer and loved being on the horses! I have to admit some horses make me nervous but you have a lot of guts riding again! Don't listen to the haters, they are just jealous they can't sit still in the saddle! P.S. Is the horse alright?

  • yikes! the horse i ride did this but she missed me by a couple of inches thank god!

  • 0:18 Is that when it brakes!?! Ouchhh

  • i want the extended version!!!!!!!

  • ugh, i saw it like snap when you hit the ground! pretty gross haha

  • we want the extended version with behind the scenes extras lol

  • Were you scared to ride again (even a little bit) after you healed from this?

  • @GoldenLuckyCharm not to ride no, i was just a little more nervous riding this horse.

  • @eventerx33 Ya, i had the same kind of experience. My horse didn't flip but when he reared big for the first time ever, I was pretty nervous to ride him for a while after that. Do you still compete this horse/have him?

  • @GoldenLuckyCharm i do still have him, but hes an old man and retired now :)

  • when it happened i was expecting an "OH SHIT OH SHIT" from the person filming, but there was only a small gasp

  • @BananaAndPear lol, it was my mom. she started crying about 2 seconds after this in the whole video, she forgot to shut it off when she ran over there so there is an extended version with the medics and everything haha

  • Can I use your clip?

  • I had the same thing happen to me 3 months ago and I'm still recovering. I now can start walk cause i just had surgery today

  • nothing more dangerous than a horse that knows it can win like this. I've been riding a horse that would let himself flip over just like that. You still own it?

  • @Saartje05 yes. hes retired now. honestly, hes a hot horse but he NEVER rears like this, usually they're small rears and he leaps forward to run away. he just got stuck and lost his balance

  • It sucks but be happy that it was only your ankle. I was working with a 6 yo TB who flipped over and fell straight back on top of me. I broke my Pelvis clean through in 2 places and and a few dozen fractures in my spine and troughout my hips. Count your blessings!

  • i give you major points for just being at that level :) that looked rough! hope you're all right now, and back riding :)

  • omg i saw ur ankle bend!

  • can i use this??!?!?!? u ok? ill give u credit

  • OUCH. did you land upright on your ankle and press the weight into it, cos that would hurt :o

  • @Stormrainn yes i landed just on that leg and my ankle snapped, then he fell onto it, which is what i thought originally broke it until i looked more closely at the video

  • ohhhhhooolllyyy coooowww.... paiiiiinnnnnnnnn !! that is just one of those things that happens everyonce in a while! wow... you did the right thing!! you released so he could put his head down but he just decided to go higher.. and if ppl say u shouldhave pulled him to the side.. he would have just fallen to the side and probably injured himself and you (well worse than u already got hurt!) so great job and i hope that this never affects your ability to ride!!

  • OWWW! @Hillary2143 it looks like he lost his balance and flipped.

  • WoW! thats rare! i've been doing dressage for 5 years and i've only ever seen a fall once! >.> lol the one i saw was much less painful than this one though! hope you were ok! ( well...will be ok that is )

  • i hear a small crack :L

  • Been there my friend. My 4 year old horse did the EXACT same thing to me out on the trail. What part of your ankle did you break?

  • @KendraHarvey honestly i dont know the medical term LOL but it was my left ankle, the outside bone. about 2 inches from where that bump is. i believe its called the fibula?

  • @eventerx33 I'm not sure on that one either haha. My mare ended up shattering my talus (weight bearing bone in the ankle), so I'm out of commission for at least 12 weeks and back to normal in a year. Of course I'm 8 weeks in and I don't know about you, already riding again lol. I had to have surgery on mine too, so 4 screws later and I'm only now starting to walk. Talk about major suck lol. Hope you have a speedy recovery!

  • @KendraHarvey Oh wow, looks like we were in the same boat! I broke it in February and after having lots of fun with crutches (not) lol i could start putting weight on it about 6 weeks later i think it was. i ended up walking with just a small brace in the middle of april and started riding (well, walking :P) that day! i started really riding the beginning of may. now it gives me the most problems just because it gets so stiff.

i know it feels like forever, but it gets better every day :)

  • YIKES!!! Glad an ankle was all it was, I hope you healed well. I imagine this adds weight to the case for wearing helmets in dressage. Endospink has a great vid on getting out of a rear.

  • @buzzterbrown im very lucky to it just have been my ankle, its healed pretty well, just needing to get it back nice and stretchy. i've watched that one! I think i copied it pretty closely - have to remember NOT to put all my weight on one ankle when i jump of next time! (hopefully wont be a next time!) and yes, i think the pictures should be posted somewhere, me laying on the ground with my helmet bouncing further out of the frame with every shot...

  • I had a similar experience years ago. It will take awhile but you're ankle will eventually feel normal again.

  • @jmorrowbel its starting to get there!

  • i think this only happened because your reins were too short and your horse has fallen over!!!!!!!!

  • @95legna because i have a freight train of a horse. and what do you mean by "your horse has fallen over" ?

  • @eventerx33 that it flips over sry...

  • @eventerx33 flips over ...sry

  • o.m.g. i cant believe this aww i feel so baddd :[ haha its good ur okayy thoughh :] lol

  • damn

  • Ohh no!!!! This is just terrible, I'm sorry this happened : / I have the worste memories from dressage, its never in the jumper ring always the dressage ring that horses can't contain themselves *rolls eyes*. I hope you were okay : /

  • @GenialEquine its all nice and healed now! mostly just needing to get it stretchy again!

  • omg that must have been horrible.. ouch.. r you ok.. is the horse ok? do you no wat made him flip???

  • @Hillary2143 besides the broken ankle i was okay! and sammy was fine, im not sure what made him flip - i just didnt ride it very well and he wasnt having it! lol

  • @eventerx33 oh well thats good. glade to hear your both okay. hopefully nothing like that will happen again.

  • @Hillary2143 horses flip because the rider pulls back on his/her head while they're rearing, and makes the horse flip.

  • @CanterQueen820 i wasnt pulling back on him when he reared. you can see in the video my hands were right next to his head

  • ouch, that must have hurt,is it ok now?

  • @ichliibebella ill be off crutches in about 2 1/2 weeks from now. not sure when ic an ride again

  • Wow scary. Hope you will be up and riding again soon. Any idea why he reared up like that?

  • @rodeogirl154 he just got stuck behind and i couldnt get him unstuck because i was trying to keep him from jumping out of the arena

  • ouch!!! that looked ike it hurt a lot ,i heard the sound ....hope you will get better soon ,and people say xc is dangerous XD

  • Ouch. Thats a nasty fall. I hope you're feeling better and back in the saddle soon.

PS. I love the pic of you on the usea website:)

  • @kwilkes88 thanks! and LOL i thought that one was pretty funny too :P

  • Ahhh I tore a ligaments in my ankle from a fall about a year ago and that was REALLY painful so I can imagine how much that hurt!

  • OMG feel better !!!!!!!

  • fuck me :O ouchh. hope your okay :O your ankle was like at a right angle (N) get well soon :) xoxo'

  • ouuuch! :O

  • Oh my god, I'm sorry! Comical that it was dressage, but I hope your ankle heels quick!

  • omg I saw the break- Was it like the most painful thing EVER??

  • @hobbzrulz159 honestly, no. i mean it hurt, but i was more crying because i was like DAMN i just really screwed my ankle up! and that scared me :O

  • haha! that is awesome that you didnt get too frazzled by it- but ahh when are you getting surgery? And also- where is your pic on the usea website? thats cool!

  • @hobbzrulz159 lol thanks. i had surgery last tuesday. ha, if you go on the usea website, then to the february blog, its in the poplar place results one

  • Oh my gah Libby! Im glad your okay though! Feel better soon!

  • Gosh! Libby, That Looked Painful!

  • Hope ur Ok! That Was Just Unlucky!

  • jeeeez that looked sore :o Hope you arent in too much pain! you would never expect that to happen in Dressage ! But thats horses i guess [:

  • Ouch. Jeez.

You always have such a knack for dealing with these situations that this one just seems unlucky. I hope for a fast recovery for yuo!

  • OMG!!!! Im relly sorry but thats kinda gross! You can actually like see it snap! sorry im prob not helping haha. horses r so unpredictable

  • OMG!!
