  • Ok! So at 141 mph, i'm standing behind the metal fence to the left! Forget the yellow line!

  • What a lovley train, it looks like our Eurostar

  • The ice 3 in Germany is 300km/h and looks nicer

  • WOW!!!!

  • i love the high speed echo of that K5LA blast

  • I feel bad for the guy who has to say "Train Approaching..." over and over again..

  • @ccolimon I fell for him too. :)

    It's a recording.

  • BOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! The Market Frankford line From Philadelphia can go faster than that!!!!!

  • If only we had the TGV here in America. 186mph cruising speed!!

  • @negvar That would be awesome!

  • @negvar the TGV doesn't do any good on this track, the only way to get the acela to go faster is they have their own right away, the track are straighter not sharp turn because even with the TGV or the shinkansen running on the track, they would have to slow down to 80 on turn or they would fly off the track.

  • more powerful then a locomotive. now thats fast. man i want to ride on that.

  • this train broke it's pantograph in Attleboro

  • This is a year old, look at my newest video.

  • Look at my Acela videos I posted....please...:) VOTE TOO!! How do you get people to look at your train videos more?

    BDOUG23

  • Not only that, but what are the chances that the force of the wind from the train whizzing by would kick up debris from the track, or even a stone? One small stone being kicked up by that force from the train would hit you like a bullet!

  • You shouldn't complain about extreme heat after that train passes by. That thing must deliver a lot of wind!

  • Imagine if the train was doing 186-w200mph, that that would be something right thru Kingston

  • OMG! Stupid parents. Jeez, talk about laying it on the line. I actually did the math. At 146 mph that train was covering 200 ft. per second...the same speed that a Boeing 737 jet travels at just before takeoff! Amtrak won't take any steps to make those platforms safer until something tragic happens. Watch and see...in the meantime please stay far behind that yellow line while you're filming those magnificent trains. *Peace*

  • If you want my opinion, a train speeding through a station at 141 mph where people walk freely around on the platform is dangerous! It's not like the driver can make a sudden emergency stop if someone's child just happens to wander onto the tracks as the train is approaching. I know it's a morbid thought, but it can happen. "Train appproaching, please remain behind yellow line" A yellow line? For starters, how about a gate on the edge of the platform that only the station employees can open

  • Its funny that u say that because yesterday i was at Kingston, and there were these people on the platform with their like 3yr old. He was Running ON THE YELLOW SAFETY LINE and the acela was less than 200 feet away. My friend clocked it with a radar gun. It was going 146MPH!!!! Do the math, they would not have been too happy. People really need to be aware of the danger of high speed trains.

  • Agreed!

  • Check out the Bullet Train platforms in Japan. I have never been to Japan. But there are videos here on YouTube showing barriers in place on the train platforms.

One Video, 'Shinkansen 700' is about 11 seconds long. Watch that one. No one is near the edge.

Also, some light rail train stations in places like Singapore, Japan and China have what look like 'elevator doors' on their platforms. Scheck them out, too.

As for us Americans: Use Common Sense. Stand behind the yellow line.

  • @AmtrakFanNEC927 i'd be standing in the lot im suprised they go that quick they only do 125 here in jersey

  • Or like those gates you see on Roller Coasters what only open when there is a train waiting in the station. and not like those metal things you can easily crawl under (or duck under)a whole fence, like a chain link, then it will hurt to try to climb it.

  • I was waiting for a northeast regional at kingston a few days ago and the person in the station announced the arrival of our train so when the safety train approaching thing went on everybody looked forward to see the train...including me. I figured out that it wasnt slowing down so i stepped back just in time cuz if i were any closer the wind woulda knocked me to my feet. The platform height combined with misleading announcements is going to lead to a tragedy one of these days.

  • nice video.

    i live near there

  • Awesome shot of the Acela!

  • when the annoucer says remain behind yeallow line how bout I wait in the lot lol

  • The far end is always a great spot to railfan the Acela. I recorded a Southbound right on the coach platform

  • I know where ur talking about, I did the exact same thing but I messed up the vid and it was pointing at the wheels.

  • look up the maglev and then say that was fast

  • yeah, i still like the acela the most though. maglev means nothing to me

  • Maglev's not a real train! (In My opinon)

  • wow

  • hadent been on an acela but amtrak yea

  • yeah what?

  • also, the express is more of a business train than anything else. it is very expensive to ride on.

  • thats fast

  • HIGH BALLING!

  • That was super fast. :D

  • FLY ZONE!
