hmm. maybe the storm hawks got advanced weaponry bec lightnign strike seduced a strong cyclonian princess. promised to marry her when he took her from her terra but since no one would accept their union and he didnt really love her-he dumped her on a deserted terra. then finding out he had a son. he came out to help her but she spurned him. a fight resulted in her death. ace hated his father for what he did.
