gorgeous voice! it does kinda come off like youre reading the lyrics instead of being familiar with them...especially the "ooo-yeah" and "lalala" parts. covering this song is kinda like covering stairway to heaven...all the oldskoolers will be disappointed in anything that doesn't capture the style of the original. and pretty much only oldskoolers know of phoebe snow.

i'm guessing, with your naturally sexy voice, you could do a version that would make us all think naughty thoughts *chuckle*.

This is a nice rendition. But, it is of a country/pop flavor, not bluesy alternative. There was a discord in the ideas of the song: "the poetry man" was kept out as a separate emotion. Phoebe Snow's "poetry man" permeated the entire song. Phoebe Snow took you along with her on the journey of expressing her emotions.
