@yec1JF i think you can live 1week without water and a couple without food. but in canada most of the water is about drinkable.

@yec1JF You can last for 12 days without water if the temp is below 21C. There are cases of people surviving for 8 weeks without food.

I Hope they dissed jeans after that trip...There is nothing more worthless then wearing jeans in wet and cold conditions..I´m amazed that they survived..

@chevygearhead454 I also wonder about Randy, I bought and read the book after seeing this series on youtube-its definitely worth the read. Ive tried googling Randy, as after reading the book, its not the father so much but Randy who shines as a hero and such a strength during the ordeal- and he was only 15! To think what I was doing with my life when I was 15. I just wonder why Randy was not in this show. I hope all 4 kids (there was a 3rd daughter not on the boat) wellness and happiness.

those girls were shown how to live using their own wits and skills by their father, that was an important factor of them staying alive. They all knew what to do own their own.

Learn how to get fresh water at the beach! Learn how to start a fire with materials available close by! Learn how to cook your beach items! Know when to foldem - know when to holdem! FIRE, SHELTER, FOOD!

ppl say that food is the most important thing but its not at all

people say that food is the most important thing, because the modern human have been so used to having a full stomach everyday, they've never dealt with hunger for longer than 1 day and will become uncomfortable with an emtpy stomach earlier than the people who have gotten used to being hungry all the time and have learned to work for their own food rather than just opening the fridge and grabbing a snack.

this is why i think that modern humans have been spoiled...lol
