@RicHimself I'll presume when you say "unclassical" you mean you've never seen it before. No one person knows ALL of Wing Chun. There are simply too many lineages out there.
I have seen the forms but for the most part the idea is to keep your center straight. Granted you step to the side to make a punch or block but you tend to keep a straight line.
Would you stay in a straight line against a stronger charging opponent? There are many variables in a real encounter. What forms have you seen? There are many different lineages/versions of Wing Chun. Our forms differ from mainstream Wing Chun
I see :). I was only taught that drill with the footwork. Perhaps thats a good introductory way of teaching it...i find it a bit awkward stationary...but maybe its because I've only known the other way :)
I appreciate your inquiry. Since I'm one of only two closed door students of GM William Cheung I'd never post a training clip of something he doesn't teach.
No doubt Master Redmond, I know of you :). I just found it interesting that being a "closed door student" of Master Sayah's (once upon a time) I had not been taught the stationary version. Thanks for the videos ;)
Interesting style. Never seen before. Very unclassical

I thought in this style you always moved forward in a straight line and never side to side?

The wooden dummy disproves that idea.
Who ever said that WC only goes forward? Have you seen the forms?

you're meant to half step back on the bong sao and step forward with your punch...

You are correct but you start stationary at first.

Cool drill. As far as timing and coordination, that guy has nothing on the young lady, though, in my opinion. :)

I did the same drill with Michelle, but it was my first time back in class after over a year so I sucked at it.
