  • I guess the manufactures are getting pissed off and lose millions of $ now when we know how to keep are strings a LOT longer !

Thanks man this is GREAT news for us poor musicians !

  • The denatured alcohol soaking methode is outstanding beats everything else I tried, they really sound like new after a soak in denatured alcohol!

  • ive been wondering this for a while, wheres your brice bass i havent seen it in a while?

  • I read about this cleaning method on the tunemybass website, but your demo has reassured me enough to actually try it! Thanks.

  • hey man,

awesome video, was wondering of one thing though.

you mentioned earlier you put another set of strings on your bass while the other are cleaning. does thing mean you change your string every 12hours? :S or do you leave some strings in cleaning for a long time until the strings you are using go dead again?

    thanks

    -Ali- DepthCharge Bassist

  • @DepthChargeBand I just leave the dirty strings in the tube until the others go dead and rotate as needed.

  • Wow awesome but what do you do with the neck for 12h while the strings are soaking.

I dont think its good to leave the neck without tension for 12h plus ?

Should i give the neck relief while the 12h go by ?

    Thanks dude.

  • @TheJagzy I buy a couple of sets at a time and just rotate as needed. As one comes off another goes on after it.

  • dude i am not ur biggest fan. i love ur style man. i saw some of ur vids and damn

where do u live? i was wondering if u give classes.

  • sounds like robert glasper

  • @nissserr It really does.

  • which song is that?

  • @yt21507 No i've used a sports bottle before and just coiled them up but it's kind of hard to get them out without flinging alcohol everywhere. And yes the alcohol can be reused numerous times I usually just change every 3-6 months depending on how often I change.

  • what exercises are u playing?

  • Good video!

can u tell me what were the first 2 scales u were playing at the begining?

    thanks!!

  • Thanks for the tutorial! By the way, definitely break down that thing at 0:42.

  • I live in Canada and I've looked all over for Denatured alcohol and nobody seems to know what the heck "Denatured Alcohol" is. Does it go by any other name?

  • @MrImpulse101 methylated spirits

  • @MrImpulse101 denaturant

  • Where did you get Denatured Alcohol?

  • @MrImpulse101 Walmart but I've seen it at lowes and home depot. Its usually by the paint thinner.

  • how big do the plastic contaniners hav 2 be? And i like your style of playing and I want 2 know what bass dvds would u recommend me 2 buy to improve my playing

    cc

  • during the removing strings part i hear stakes is high in a jazzy vibe

is it robert glasper or something?

i like your way of playing by the way, checked some of your videos!

    keep up the good work

  • good video, now i dont have to keep running to the store to buy $34.99 dr strings whats the name of the track being played in video?

  • @lajbass3o1 When the saints go marching in -Adrianne Archie

  • I almost lost my daggone cool in this room. nice vids.

  • Knightmayorz, do you use nickel plated or stainless steel strings?

  • @rflemm stainless still R. Cocco RC6C

  • Denatured is the way to go indeed. I roll my strings into the actual alcohol container, might be a tad harder for six string players. This way I can periodically agitate the container and get a deeper cleaning. One word of caution, you should release the cap pressure between shaking and then put it back down tight. I have a set of snarling dogs I've clean over 20 times this way and they still sound bright.

  • Brother were are you from ? And would like to know if you teach .

    Thx maboyya

  • what about boiling the strings? i heard that works.

  • @xstevenx88 Stings and water don't mix. The heat will remove debris but I will eventually make the steel core rust and get weak...pop!

  • Awesome!!!

  • thanks for sharing this dude

  • Great!

I used to do it with medical alcohol, denatured is better for sure.

Now i just buy coated strings! :P they last for many months.

  • Will you get the same results if you use regular alcohol...

  • @BlaizeJB Most medical alcohol has water in it. Denatured alcohol is pure grain alcohol but it is poisoned or denatured so people can't drink it thus avoiding alcohol tax. It contains no water so it won't corrode your strings.

  • You're an amazing bassist :)

  • @seventhCrucifix Thanks you sir.
