Just as one good one can win the game long before its over. Youre constantly thinking about the future with CIV, not the immediate gratification. No two games are alike. If CiV 6 never came out you could play V forever. But who wants that? I dont even want to buy this until I boost my computer. Be a like a bowl of Ice Cream without a spoon.

@ChaosRoblox IT does need a few downloads. Mainly to sort stuff like crashes and bugs. But its worth it trust me. The game is brilliant and one of my all time favs.

Lol! You watch Civ 5 videos to see the gameplay? Go watch a gameplay video, not a walk through. This game is all about decision making and all about intel that's not obvious.

These play throughs (as well as many others on Youtube) focus on the player's awareness and thought processes. This is as it should be. What you're looking for is readily available in a number of other places. I much prefer what's presented here.

Have you played Civilization IV: Colonization? It's not really Civilization IV, but that's what it said on the case. It's somewhat more interactive as you get to have units change classes, choose each city's main product, & even set up a detailed trade system with natives & other colonies. In the end, you have to declare independence from the mother land, & survive a war against them as well. So, what do you think? (I am not a cheapo advertiser looking for customers.)

About the history of Babylon: They did conquer some other tribe civs, so it is a bit rightful to make them major civ. About agicultures: mixed-form farming, gather and hunting is still happening now! Not that important as in the old days, but the Massai of Kenia for example is still living that mixed way

@umpisuoli87 No, it's Morgan Sheppard. I believe the game used to be narrated by Leonard Nemoy (Spock). Morgan Sheppard sounds sort of like him, so I think they were trying to keep that essence.

The game is so cool, but it needs a better economic system. there should be a scaffolding in the game for development of surpluses and the ability to sell them to other civs and states for money. Markets and banks shouldnt just improve the amount of gold produced but allow trading over farther distances, faster technology (exchange of ideas with trade historically relates to technological advances) and higher government structure. the game is over simplified it needs more profound consequences

You really need to talk less. Much less. If you can fast forward through a minute and tell you're still talking by the way the screen doesn't change in that time you're talking to much.

For example, you can just say "I prefer not to play as modern countries" rather than pointlessly telling us that some countries didn't exist in the ancient world... for an entire minute.

Just to be clear....EACH CIVILIZATION has several hours of culture appropriate music.

The music in this game is really amazing. I almost always find myself muting a game and turning on the radio after 30 hours of gameplay. When I play Civ 5 i STILL have the game music running - it's truly beatiful.

When you're playing a coastal empire and settle on the coast...start building your fishing boats...the ambient sounds alone truly give you the feeling of living in a coastal city.

I played Civ 2, way back in the day and loved it. Played Civ 4 for a awhile more recently.

This game is VERY streamlined -- the guy who developed the console UI for Revolutions, developed the UI for Civ 5 apparently. Everything is literally a couple clicks away, despite the very intimidating number of options; it's quite impressive. More PC devs should take note.

easy way to get achievement:

do small map on pangea (use advanced setup) put the leader you need for the achievement (or the one with the best bonus) then set gametime to quick and difficulty on settler unless its for winning on higher difficulties.

btw there r no horses on the mp because you need animal husbandry to reveal them.

Anglophones just have no idea have to pronounce the "qu" in words of French origins. They always seem to get it backwards.  It's Iro-KWA (and Quebec is KAY-bec). Iroquois is a word that was coined by French colonists. The actual Iroquois refer to themselves as Haudenosaunee.
