  • That priest is just creepy

  • jeez Jerimiah, start a forest fire much

  • I hate how they positioned them so they were trying to run when the crow came, it makes it seem sadder :,(

  • IDIOT SOLDIERS! You never go through a sacred burial ground! From the moment you step foot in it without permission, you are doomed to die ir suffer a great loss like poor Jerimiah!

  • I can't believe that they took the boy's scalp. This is a very good movie though. Not racist or stereotyping at all, and it's sensitive towards Jeremiah's vengeance and all You don't see more than you need to.

  • He looks like Brad Pitt without his beard.

  • @tacoshopification i was thinking more like Bon Jovi myself.

  • The Department of Colorado and a runny nosed reverand ~ quite possibly the most destructive bunch of cunts on earth.

Oh Jeremiah, why didn't you just tell them to fuck off through the mountain pass.

  • @RipCruncher1 Well said lol

    Anyways, GREAT MOVIE.

  • A CLASSIC

  • In real life, his squaw was killed without provocation, and she was pregnant.

And, as I like to point out, he killed the crow and ate their livers. He became a cannibal. They called him 'Liver eatin' Johnson.' Documented fact.

  • I love when his horse shows up...so damn sad...Redford is such a wonderfully nuanced actor.

  • I always wondered if the cavalry troop got wiped out, as well.

  • JJohnson came to mountains to escape the menaces of society -politics and religion- , however they found him even at the remotest location

  • When he lights the house on fire I always cry. The music sets the mood as well. Such a sad part to a great film.

  • VERY SAD THIS PART

  • great movie

  • He carried his squaw over land, water and snow. This was the White man showing dominace over the submissive Indigenous woman.

  • revenge time!!!!

  • my all time fav. movie. i've always wanted to do what he has done in this movie and still may.

  • JJ is awesome!

  • that sneaky face .......... 8:51..........

  • @2feethighanddry so true

  • @2feethighanddry hahahah nice catch

  • @2feethighanddry hahahha nice

  • The most heatbreaking scene in an all time great movie.

  • he understood pretty well how they think

  • wow ....the face in the mountain!! (4:02) I've seen this movie a million times and never noticed that . Wonder if there is supposed to be some symbolic meaning there?

  • Never noticed that either. And looking at it now it does seem to be intentional. Later, at about 8:50, the scene moves from Jeremiah's face watching the flames to the mountain "face" with flames. And I'm reminded of the old man talking in terms of the mountain as if it's a character, "Can't cheat the mountain, pilgrim."

    Good catch!

  • i still cry everytime i see this part.

it's a great movie, not all movies have a happy story or ending. it's a shame jeremiah had to help those men find their people trapped in the woods and then come back to his family murdered.

  • i think the face in the mountain at 4:02 may share the same sentiments

  • @2feethighanddry two faces

  • @2feethighanddry That is crazy! Nice find.

  • great movie

  • i would not go through any burial ground that looked like that

  • id be prettttttty mad!!!!!

  • thank you
