was working at the GRANDE BALLROOM IN 67 WHEN THE BLUES WERE LATE......the frost were playing hey jude......the moodies came in and walked on stage and just took over the song and finished it...I WISH that someday we can download our memories and record or pass them on somehow.......isn't life strange
1984 was a special year for me. It was the year I became a Christian. I didnt discover the Moody Blues music until the year 2000 and I was gobsmacked. How cpme this great band are snubbed by so many radio stations and the Hall of Fame?
This is one amazing song! Fantastically brilliant!! Justin is truly amazing!! What a beautiful voice that just peirces my heart!! The Moodies are truly a phenomenal band of all time!! Their music is pure magic to the soul!! So full of real emotion and feeling. Very powerful!! Their music has been touching souls through the years and continues on to this day!! Their music has impacted my life and gave me a true appreciation for REAL music!! Beautiful!! The Moodies forever my friends!! ♥
@DieselProductions11 They did some tv talk shows together then ray retired hes no to well for going on concert tours he walks on a cane look in mike pinder .com
I have followed the Moodys since around l969 or so and bought my first stereo to listen to their detailed wonderful music! I saw them a few weeks ago in Michigan for the second time ever, and better than ever. They were at the Fox Theater in Motown. Fantabulous!
Patrick Moraz does a fine job here, he's certainly making an effort to reproduce the studio version and i'll give him that, but Mike Pinder's haunting, soaring, beautiful mellotron would've taken Justin's song to a much higher level........just a thought........ cuz ima trubluePinderfan
@hubiex You are so right. This song was obviously written with modern synthesizers in mind.. note the opening of the piece... but Man.. I would sure love to hear the mellotron just one more time.. the things a bitch and Pinder was a master.
The Voice is the underlining song that drew me into the Moody Blues/ Todd Rundgren for LSD but the next time i trip this song will be played- ELO and The Moody Blues times me into 1981- The Voice is just as awesome as Nights In White Satin
Jamie, you said it. The Moody Blues had the right sound going into the 80's ,but it just got too messed up with MTv and all the bad synth + no instruments
Loved the album cover for "Long Distance Voyager". The album this song was released on. Shows a wood cut or sketch of a period looks like the early 1800s people walking around in a small town and up in the sky above them was one of the Voyager spacecraft passing by. That was really ingenious...
This takes me back to being 14 years old... I played it over and over again. Now here I am 25 years later and playing it over and over again.... Its timeless and I still love it.
Sometimes I just put this on repeat it really means alot to me. Just grabbed the cell tone for my cell too if u want it check it out at GetAllTones . com #varialbes#
I miss the old days of popular music! When songs are catchy, had melody and great lyrics and vocals. Today's music is so attrocious compared to great stuff like this.
Saw where Little Anthony and the Imperials were finally voted into the R & R Hall of Fame. Why aren't the Moodies in there? Until that happens, I refuse to travel to Cleveland (Ohio) to visit the HOF!
These guys are career musicians who have dedicated their lives to their art and continue to do so.They are fantastic composers of great music and have been able to avoid the excesses and scandals associated with popular music.I cannot ever see them being eclipsed by any other group and in my humble opinion remain the best ever in their field.Amazing!

Interesting note here, both of my daughters (who are now 26 and 21 respectively) "listened" to the Moodies from the time they were conceived.
