I just bought one, the 2010 with the Torsen LSD, and while I'm still running it in, it is Fabulous, and yes, I have driven several high performance saloons before, and even so this gave me palpitations. Dont get me started on the dash features, voice control satnav.........., bloody hell, das Germans can bring it on, My Samurai is ready !

Mine's a daily driver (120+ mile round-trip commute) and I love it. Averaging about 24-25mpg on the highway at speeds hovering around 80mpg. Not too shabby for 5L V-8. Some say the ride is harsh -- bullocks. I LIKE being a part of the driving experience instead of floating along on a sofa. The best bit? It's a Lexus (i.e. Toyota) which means, unlike other performance cars, it will very likely run trouble free for ever.

Well it all comes down to personal opinion. I've hear people call the IS F that, but I still think it is a superb vehicle and if I were given the opportunity to drive one I would jump at it.

Lexus IS F is very good but not to the point of goodness of BMW M3.
But it's acceptable since its the lexus' first entry into this car segment(super sedans). But I like IS F because it REALLY proved that TOYOTA/LEXUS CAN do it!. :)

Actually I was more like really surprised by the fact that the new 2008 BMW M3 was only capable of beating Lexus by only about 1 or 3 seconds on many reviews. IS-F also was out on 2008, and I would say it was a fair competition, and yet, that was all BMW M3 could pull off? I am not impressed.

Argument whether Lexus will surpass BMW and MB is really a question whether Lexus wants to surpass them. Lexus outsells both German brands in what used to be their domain. People loughed when Toyota announced its luxury division. Now that Lexus is synonymous with Luxury it is time to take care of the performance niche of the market. All I can say is wait a few years and F line will be synonymous with speed and performance.

Well, actually to be honest, I kind of hoped the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG to beat the M3, but that quite didn't happen. The reviews just ended up saying that it now can "barely" match with M3, and that's it. Certainly C63 AMG has more power, but the handling is still not as good as M3.
Audi is definitely good, but honestly, my dream car is R8 and I have a long long way to go to get one.

I had about that too at autoblog but I don't think it would be a good idea. supposedly it will have 429hp, 376 lbs of torque and weigh 220 lbs less. kind of like what Ferrari did with the Scuderia and Aston Martin with the N24. But the ISF-R is supposed to cost about $100k. I love the IS-F but that's too expensive for the ISF-R. Would rather wait for LF-A then.

Mine's a daily driver (120+ mile round-trip commute) and I love it. Averaging about 24-25mpg on the highway at speeds hovering around 80mpg. Not too shabby for 5L V-8. Some say the ride is harsh -- bullocks. I LIKE being a part of the driving experience instead of floating along on a sofa. The best bit? It's a Lexus (i.e. Toyota) which means, unlike other performance cars, it will very likely run trouble free for ever.

Lexus IS F is very good but not to the point of goodness of BMW M3.
But it's acceptable since its the lexus' first entry into this car segment(super sedans). But I like IS F because it REALLY proved that TOYOTA/LEXUS CAN do it!. :)

If IS-F had done even remotely OK, the GS-F project would not have been officially cancelled by Lexus. It got r*ped even by the C63 in EVERY SINGLE comparison and every single track test done by even JDM Japanese Best Motoring (Tsuchiya San driving), Motor Trend, Edmunds, Road And Track, Sport Auto, Car and Driver, Auto Zeitung, Driver Republic, Car magazine and list goes on where IS-F was a distant deadlast, it is not even a competition for the C63 AMG. M3 is completely a different story.

Actually I was more like really surprised by the fact that the new 2008 BMW M3 was only capable of beating Lexus by only about 1 or 3 seconds on many reviews. IS-F also was out on 2008, and I would say it was a fair competition, and yet, that was all BMW M3 could pull off? I am not impressed.
Well, and I couldn't help, but to laugh at the new BMW 7 series. the tail lights look like Lexus GS's, and I couldn't find a single new technologies from it.

When M3s are not drag cars, they already are running 12.5 - 12.7 secs stock and 12.3 - 12.4 with intake/exhaust/ECU reflash. Bottom line it f*cking r*pes the IS-F in every category especially around a race track. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but don't f*cking going around pretending IS-F is remotely competitive with the M3 because it is not. Aside from reliability and dependibility, the M3 is undisputedly leagues above it in every way even in comfort with fully adjustable suspension.

I seriously wouldn't say that after getting into the car and feeling the car itself. Even the huge Japanese car hater Jeremy Clarkson was surprised by the performance and speed of IS-F.

1. Lexus has never scrapped GS-F, in fact, according to Autospies, due to IS-F beating C63 AMG and BMW M3 sedan on sales last month, Lexus is now more confident with GS-F. And said might even release LS-F as well.
And I don't know where you get those information from seriously, but I have never heard of a number of IS-F's Nurburgring lap time record.

Funny to see how badly the IS-F tanked. Lexus has scrapped the plans to create the GS-F seeing how badly it tanked. The sales have been extremely bad and there are four IS-F sitting on the Lexus dealership collecting dust.
The benchmark as always is the BMW M3 winning every single comparison, superior in every single way (except dependibility and reliability). At 4.1 secs 0-60 and 12.6 secs 1/4 mile and Nurburgring laptime (8:03), it is the closest a luxury car can get to a performance car.

Whoa, theres so much hate around here. Why dont we stick to the Lexus IS F and shut the hell up? Well, for me, the M3 and this Lex have their own ground to cover. M3 is for more 'serious' 0-60 and the Lex in handling. We know BMW has been covering the M for more than a decade, but Lexus (Toyota) is proving they can do their own stunt, and very well indeed. Argument whether Lexus will surpass BMW and MB is really a question whether Lexus wants to surpass them. Lexus outsells both German brands in what used to be their domain. People loughed when Toyota announced its luxury division. Now that Lexus is synonymous with Luxury it is time to take care of the performance niche of the market. German cars have totally grown over me, I've been hearing on the other day, that they are bringing up more new models on the line up and I like them. Of course its a little hard to tell that when will Lexus match up to Germans. However they are both my favourites. I can't wait until my dad gets his order by March a C220 auto diesel sport I think thats name.

Well, actually to be honest, I kind of hoped the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG to beat the M3, but that quite didn't happen. The reviews just ended up saying that it now can "barely" match with M3, and that's it. Certainly C63 AMG has more power, but the handling is still not as good as M3.
Audi is definitely good, but honestly, my dream car is R8 and I have a long long way to go to get one.

Euro Trash attacking me? The new M5 killer, the 2009 CTS-V is going to be in demand all over asia, middle east, europe and germany. U.S. can make a great car, the top of the line Ford- would buy that over others in its class, the new corvette is great. I just love Japan and their cars. So don't just claim shit when its false. I had about that too at autoblog but I don't think it would be a good idea. supposedly it will have 429hp, 376 lbs of torque and weigh 220 lbs less. kind of like what Ferrari did with the Scuderia and Aston Martin with the N24. But the ISF-R is supposed to cost about $100k. I love the IS-F but that's too expensive for the ISF-R. Would rather wait for LF-A then.
