I thought he was amazing in harry potter...he had all this built up tension and anger that was so visible on his face - i thought - this guy is a veteran actor, he's just great
I hate to say it, but I'm on my 8th beer today watching this. Well, in my defence, I'm 120kg, own my own company, and it's my day off, but Jesus if I needed help I would think of Joe
I love loach, hes gave scotland a chance. I wish we could make more films each year, theres just something about grim scottish life, its romantic and brutal. Makes me glad to be born in Glasgow.
@screwtape84 Great comment. Im irish and agree with you too there definitley should be more scottish films , trainspotting and sweet sixteen are def me fav films! Any other good scot films send em on! bless : )
I adored this film when it was first released Loach gives his actors space to breathe pulling the camera back at a comfortable angle and he doesn't shout "Action" but asks his actors to start when they feel ready (a smooth transition).
^^ I 'll tellyou for a non used foreigner ( me french ) , this scottish is truely adorable but gosh it takes quite a while to "synchronize" the ear to it ^_^ !!!
I didn't get a single word of the starting speech ; )
( I had no issues when I watched Ae Fond Kiss, excepted with the workers who do the extension and move the piano. )
This beeing said, it's uber cute to listen to , Ken Loach rox and the actors are amazing , like always.
amazing film just discovered it on the telly last night ! loved it even though it was heart breaking part of it was filmed down the road from me the snooker hall scene, thats exactly what Glasgow is like but we are also friendly helpful and welcoming just beware of the muggers lol
