I asume there is sand in that box however the cat is huge so you either have to get a bigger box or put the cat on a diet. :)

My cats don't like using boxes with lids.

We had a similar problem.

@L00NGB00W we've never had a problem before this. this is the 3rd or 4th time he's done it, but over a couple months. the lids work well at keeping down the dust and smell. before bob got too fat, we had the door closed.

I found that all the lids did, was help to retain the moisture and stench, and also restrict the cats movement. I found that removing it allowed the stuff to dry out faster.

You've got a nice sunny airy room for the litter now, so dust and stench shouldn't be an issue. Also the culprit is a big kitty. He needs a lot of room to maneuvere.

they have made us adapt....evolve.
