@simbadidge he's still perfect man, just let him do his thing! He's still making millions of people happy, and more importantly he's making himself happy, and that's all that really matters.
Besides, personally I think that this song is beautiful, and without the old and shaky it would be less so :(

to be honest, I found this one of the album's weaker songs. McCartney has a pleasant, untampered voice for sure...but the lyrics are a little bland, simplistic and cliched... I'm definitely feeling October Daze, though
...comes the music guru. Listen idiot. Its really easy to criticize great work of art from distance.
Go learn to play piano and try for the rest of your life, creating a song half as good as this one.
And if we see "Mr. weasel" on Nitin's compilation and listen to it over and over again and find the beauty in simplicity, we'll take your comment seriously.
until then...just wash your ring finger and slowly insert it in your hole.
Its an opinion, learn to live with it. I would say the same thing to Nitin if I met him in person. I have listed to NItin Sawhney for many years and greately enjoy the songs with Tina grace and Imogen Heap on this album (although it is one of his weaker albums). I don't particularly care for Paul McCartneys work. Yours is a baseless and foolish statement, since you have no clue of my background.
omg i could just listen to this song over and onver..i was soooo happy when it came out last year...its so beautiful! and i love it how sometimes it seems like Paul is choking up or something...i dont know...i just adore it
how could we feel all thease feelings we humans the complicated we get the complicated we feel what could we do its really weird I think us humans are the weirdest species on this earth I mean we really really really are wierd there is no other word for it seriously we do the wierdest things and feel the wierdest things I guess we are the civilized species and how did we figure that out
For me it's another nearly song. it could have been great. It starts of in a beautiful, pleading sort of way but in the end it becomes too much the singalong type music that Paul McCartney lapses into too often. I'm not one of those anti-McCartney people. I'd love it if he wrote another classic hit that the whole world loved.
I dedicate this song for a girl, this song is beauty, wonderful, amazing, and every time I hear this song, i remember that girl, because i love her a lot
Also, Nitin Sawhney is the Music Composer for the upcoming "The Fifth Beatle" movie. The movie is in the works about the last six years of the life of The Beatles' manager, Brian Epstein.
This is a song that Paul collaborated with Nitin in reference to his former wife Heather. It is not so much as a love song but as an expression of feeling sorry for her. He was not aware of her shady past until after they had separated. She did not reveal that part of herself during their relationship. This is Paul's gentle way of sympathizing with her compared to his other album "Electric Arguments" where he vents all his frustrations of betrayal in practically every song.
thanks for posting & great comments on a song i just found out about today...-->thx dale.. the first few lines are weak in the vocals but the song is good and much better as the song goes on indeed, even on a dickie bird rock on all ! thx yespaulrocks
Soooo nice, when was this recorded? i think some years ago, Pauls voice today sounds much better. His voice reminds me to the late Johny Cash on "One", but Paul is still is alive and very very good after Heather. I am lucky about this!
I've been a fan of Paul's work for many years, but this isn't a great vocal take. It doesn't help that he's so far up in the mix with little or no effect during most of the track.
So in short, both the production & his throat sound 'dry'!
Another moving song from Mr. McCartney. Again it sings my soul. However, I am almost (but not quite!) used to that now from him, as this has happened for so many years. His genius - to make so many people feel that way.
life takes its coarse people! Voices change over time, right from 12 yrs old up to your 80's...but he definitely still has his range.. a man of class... he's the best.
i am macca fan, but i really don't like that voice at the beginning of the song, mostly throu all the song, at the end his voice sound clearer and nicer, stronger.
hey, it does not necessarily has to be that way, he can sing without that "old style", he can do it, i've seen him live more than 10 times and he can sing as natural as he's always sung in the past, but he seems to like singing with a wick voice.
i think it's just natural for an old man to sing in an old voice. that's how things should be. And Paul's old voice is as beautiful and touching as his young one.Imho
that is my point, i've seen him many times and i definitely know he can still rock, but that voice, god , i just don't like it, very wick. at the end of the ong his voice is better, and stronger.
you may be right, but anyway his voice is not good, again: at the beginning of the song only, it is weak. or does it sound the same as on GORGEOUS ballads like "put it there" o "distractions" ? i can mention so many more examples, have you heard yvonne?
Just so you know, my last Youtube account got deleted for posting this song, so just watch out, I don't want to see anything bad happen to youur account.
Past fav tunes have been Faithless and Robbie, now I have Nitin and Paul !! What else could I ask for? Jim Morrison and Marc Bolan? Thats my fantasy? What do you think would have happened?
Great song! I like the little slide guitar touches. Makes me think George is somewhere around. Nice ending too. Paul should make this a single to keep us satisfied until his tour or next true LP comes out (not counting the upcoming Fireman LP)
