I'm sure it's a Stinkpot. They are also called the Common Musk Turtle. I have one, his name is Zack. They make cool pets and are small and hearty and don't require as much water like a slider or painted turtle and don't bask much. They're great climbers though! That's how they get the nick name Tree Turtle or Cat Turtle. Make sure you don't have any thing tall enough to climb out of the tank! I made this mistake before and I had to search for Zack all over the place!
He loves the stuff. I've had him for almost 8 years now, I can tell what he likes and he defiantly loves ham, shrimp heads ( just the head) he cant be bothered with the body, any fish that cost more than 20 bucks, just basically junk food for a turtle,, occasionally turtle pellets. puts his nose up an anything else. he's totally spoiled. has eatin probably a thousand dollars in fish. its why i now have goldfish...
come home to a tank full of eye balls...:(

Found him in the driveway at a client's house. Guy has a sea wall in brackish waters... crayfish OK, will do. thanks for the input.

That's a musk turtle I've had 4 of those there pretty cool. Where did u get it at, feed him a live crawfish they go crazy over them
